There are few choices of nail lacquers under 9$ and I think Maybelline is one of the best choices. Their products can be found everywhere, in all supermarkets and pharmacies. Besides, the nail lacquers are cheap, I often get mine for special sale like 6$ each.
This line of Maybelline nail colours also come in many shades, there are at least 20 different colours you can choose from. With that price you can always have your own collection of nail polishes. I also like the fact that the polish dries up quite quickly.
Although I'm pleased with the price, I don't really like: The longevity: it's said to be a non-chipped lacquer but mine got chipped for less than two days.
The brush is too small and the "hair" makes it hard to create a smooth look for your nail. I personally prefer OPI and China Glaze as they have wonderful brushes.
I have this nail polish in two shades: a grey and a black with gold glitter. I do really like the colour range of this nail polish as there are many options for a great price.
The two colours I have a fairly pigmented; I usually do about two coats and that seems to be fine. Like any brand, I would say the pigmentation and quality depend on the colours that you buy, so for my two I am happy. They come in a nice size bottle that is different from other brands (so easy to spot in your nail polish collection). The brush is ok - I have definitely used better but I have also used worse.
I do not believe that it is chip-free. It does chip after a little while, especially if you do not use a top and base coat. I have not had issues with it staining my nails as I do use a base coat and my colours are quite neutral.
Overall, it is an ok nail polish. I am happy with the colours that I have but I can't say I would rush out to buy more. I do like the colour range but I do not like that it does not live up to its "chip-free" claim. Worth a shot for the price though!
Tips: Base and top coat are necessary!
