Chip Free Nail Color, Straight from the Shows
The Official Nail Color of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York
Long lasting nail polish

No chip color nail laquer straight from the shows. Easy-flow brush. Formaldehyde, DBP and Toluene free.

First apply a clear base coat to prevent your nails from yellowing and to help your nail color last longer. With one sweep, paint the first line of nail polish up the center of your nail starting from the base to the tip. For the cleanest look, be sure to leave a small space at the base of the nail. Then apply nail color to the rest of the nail.

Formula needs improvement

When I ordered a box from beast beauty boxes I got the I love Nails box. I loved this box. Inside it was Marihno which is a dark blue and Show me the Green which is a beautiful teal color. This was my first time trying this range out.

The bottle is clear so you can see the colour inside of it. The brush is basic . There's nothing special about it. The formula is very thin. It has a strong chemical nail polish like most nail lacquers. On first application it's very thin. To get good colour pay off I do about 3 coats of colour and two coats of clear coat. I got two days wear of it. I like to get up to four to five days wear with standard polish.

Overall I think the formula needs more pigmentation. It is overpriced and could be under five dollars. I didn't enjoy this one. I won't be repurchasing this line anytime soon. I prefer the maybelline gel range.

Maybelline Colour show Nail Laquer

My nails are always painted so I like a laquer to be honest and good. This one comes in a cute round bottle with a good brush. I followed the directions and applied a clear coat and then the laquer. I always apply at least two coats and then I will apply a clear coat, to give the laquer a great shine and also to protect the colour. I found after the first day of wear it chipped which was really dissapointing as I like to think I can get at least 3 good days out of an application. For this reason I will not be repurchasing this brand of nail laquer again.

Awful formula, but nice colour

I have this nail polish in 3 shades, which all differ in quality. The shade Iced Queen was disappointing in quality. It's a pleasant pastel purple colour, nothing special but it is rather pretty. For a start, I found the packaging underwhelming. It's basic, and the label on mine was applied crooked, I prefer my beauty products to look nice! The polish was quite thick upon opening. When I applied the first coat, the polish appeared uneven, bumpy and streaky on my nail. I found that two coats were needed to build up a solid colour. After applying the second coat, the colour became solid, but the bumpy texture remained. The issue with the polish being so thick is that it looks like I have applied 5 coats of nail polish, when I have only applied two. I would not repurchase this as I feel that there are cheaper brands that provide better results. To make it worse, after 3 hours of wearing it, I experienced tip wear despite the nail polish promising to be long lasting. I also own this in the shade Fierce N Tangy which is even worse. In the bottle it looks like a neon yellow, but when applied to the nail it looks more like mustard yellow, icky. Fierce N Tangy was a nightmare to apply. It's formula is inconsistent, some bits of my nail would have thick globs of polish and some would only end up thinly covered, despite me wiping the brush. This also never seems to dry and after my first use it was still sticky and gooey three hours later from only two coats and most of it peeled off, my nails ended up looking like they were covered in melted cheddar cheese. The shade Orange Fix is the only one that I have that is actually decent. It's a lovely bright orange colour and has a thin formula, unlike the previous two shades I own. It takes me two coats to build it up to a solid colour as it applies quite sheer. Orange Fix applies smoothly and I've never had any problems with it drying, chipping or going gooey. Orange Fix is the only one that I would purchase again.

Tips: If your polish is thick like mine are, add a bit of nail polish thinner to make it easier to work with.

Chip free... hmm. Long lasting... ah. Maybe it’s just me but I didn’t find these claims to ring true at all. This range has done lovely colours, and the wand makes it very easy to apply. I found this range to be great for nail art as the mixture isn’t gloopy, but not too runny either. The results were shiny and glossy and gorgeous, but unfortunately not very long lasting. I could go maybe 3 hours trying to be extra careful before I noticed a chip. After about a day or two I would see the edges fading away to reveal my natural nail. Great fun but I’ve actually found longer lasting nail polishes at the $2 shops..

Mint mist needs too many coats

I loved the color, when it was in the bottle. Which is pretty typical. I bought it thinking it would only need a couple of coats and it would be ok, instead I had to do about 4 coats to completely cover and by that time the color had changed. On first coat it came out streaky and looked a bit too milky if that makes sense. The one I bought was limited edition so I don't think it's in stores anymore, but just a thought for the other lighter shades.

Tips: I did try going over a clear coat, but that didn't seem to help. Perhaps going over a white or nude color for those who have bought Minty Mist.

Misleading.

I was super excited to use this as the colour is absolutely gorgeous (I have Twilight Rays which is a browny green with glitter). The consistency was absolutely rubbish. It is so thin and sheer I had to put three coats on and it still looked a little sheer.

The brush is fairly standard and it is easy to apply but it becomes an issue to apply when you have to layer multiple coats over one another (having to wait until they are completely dry so it doesn't turn into a muddy mess).

I found you need at least three coats to get the job done, which, in my opinion, is a massive let down and highly frustrating.

The packaging is cute and sleek. The colour of the polish in the bottle is absolutely beautiful and if the texture lived up to other nail polish brands then this would be a fast favourite of mine.

I am unsure if my experience was just due to this colour or perhaps I got a bad bottle, but just based on my experience I wouldn't recommend this to anyone and have actually passed by it when I have seen it on sale. - Despite being drawn to the colours in the bottle.

maybelline colour show nail lacquer

I have only one of these nail polishes in Chiffon Chic. I received this for my birthday from one of my best mates. I have only used this polish once and I absolutely hated it. The formula was quite thick and I found that it didn't apply on my nails evenly. I found that it also chipped away very easily and didn't last that long. For me I wouldn't purchase these nail polishes due to what the formula was like on this one plus I have far to many.

Really Dissapointed

My sister included two of these in a lovely pack she made for me. One was a gorgeous purple - Fuschia Fever, and a shredded one (which is their name for crackle)

I didn't try them straight away as I was already wearing a nail polish. When I went to put it on, it had separated. This happens, so I shook it up and put it on.

It took 3 coats to get a nice finish, it took quite a long time to dry - so all up with base and top coat it was 5 coats of polish. It definitely wasn't chip free, I think because it needed so many coats it was going to be prone to chipping from the start. It chipped in a few hours and after I had a shower I had chips on every nail.

I have since noticed that the bottle has separated again - but it looks like water, it doesn't look like there is much of the original colour left, it's a funny pink.

I love my other Maybellines, but really disappointed with this one. Would rather pay a little more for their other formula.

Tips: It stained my nails through the base coat. Maybe two coats? But I wouldn't bother with it at all!

Nice price, not so nice formulation

I have one of these from the vintage leather collection (high style sienna) and another from the regular line (wine and dine). The first is a matte finished polish which is intended to give a high fashion faux leather appearance to the nails. It has a great suede look, dries fast - like the second it touches your nails. It is filled with chunky bits of non-shimmery glitters designed to help with the leather inspired theme but it just looks like chunks of dust/dirt that have gotten themselves lodged in my drying polish. This one also never sets up hard and remains rubbery feeling - this will actually peel off within a few hours and is possibly the worst polish I have ever used - it is like the kids nailpolish I had as a child which was designed to peel off. I actually really loved the colour - a fashionable apricot/rosy based sienna which looks fabulous on my skintone but the formulation is the killer.

The second polish (wine and dine) a deep red claret shade from the regular line, peforms a lot better than the leather collection, but it's not without it's flaws. It applies shiny, is a tad thin and requires several coats which in turn require too much dry time, and again this one will be chipping and peeling within a matter of hours. Just not worth my time or effort and this red shade has be relegated to our garage for when my partner needs to paint lightbulbs for his vintage car collection. No use to me I am afraid. A case of you get what you pay for I suppose and this quite often appears to be the case with Nailpolishes.
