It's not often you find something so on point - cheap polishes, that are awesome to work with, wear well and come in a range of colours? Sign me up!
I actually mostly use 'the gel' polishes from Essence now, or the 'i <3 trends' ones - but it all started with 'colour and go'.
These are ridiculously cheap little bottles of awesome. They are only 8 ml, so no dramas with polish drying out before you use it up. The brushes are squat and wide, with a decent handle so that they are not fiddly despite the small size. The formula is on point - one coat is okay, two is perfect, and it's a good thickness and opacity. Dry time is not too long, and ear time is up there with much pricier polishes. The colour range is wide, and on trend - but veers off. I can usually find a polish I like from them.
I haven't actually seen 'colour and go' in a while, so unsure if it's been destocked in favour of 'the gel' but it's definitely worth a look.
The only reason it isn't 5/5 is that I prefer the gel ones ever so slightly (hello, plump shiny finish). I'd merrily use these though!
On one of my apparently numerous visits to Farmers, I finally took notice of the nail polish section of the Essence stand. Considering I'm so picky about polish colours it seemed none of them would stand out until I saw 'give me nude, baby!'
I took a good look at it and I knew I had to get it. It's a very soft and translucent white with a slight duochrome shimmer. I have a habit of gravitating towards translucent whites and pinks since my skintone is quite an awkward one. This polish did not let me down at all. It didn't make my skintone look strange and looked as natural as nails with whitish polish could get. It's an incredibly easy to wear colour and is on the more low maintenance end. Now, it did chip fairly quickly (after 4-5 days) but all things considered, I'm still quite happy with it.
Despite how much I love the polish, I actually am more impressed with the brush. I've only had a few polishes with a double brush but they were all pricier polishes, not one that cost me, what, $3? It's so easy to apply the polish quickly which is great for lazy souls like me!
