I'd been looking for a more light weight foundation to use during the weekend since I have a full heavier covered face in my MAC Prolongwear during the week and decided to give this a go. I bought this in the shade N2 (I'm NW20 in Prolongwear) and this has a really light coverage. I do prefer to have 2 applications of this on and it has a lovely light weight texture, blends easily and have a lovely dewy finish. However, myself having a face similar to an oil slick have struggled with getting this to last without having at least 2-3 powder top ups throughout the day to get rid of the shine coming through. But for something light to give my skin a bit of breathing space on my days off, this is a really nice product but it might pay to give it a miss if you're as oily as me.

Tips: Not for oily skin
I had my eye on this for a while and finally caved and bought it. I thought it would be a little too light coverage but turns out its perfect. It is a light formula but since my skin has been behaving (long may it continue) I haven't needed as much foundation.
Goes on easy, I work it into my skin in sections with my hands. Then touch up around the eyes, nose and chin with MAC Mineralise Concealer. I have dry skin and am using N1 (usually NC15). I don't like to use powder on top of this as I like the dewy look. I really like using all cream products with this - cream blush, shadow etc.
Tips: Get a sample from a MAC counter and apply with fingers. Make sure to shake it before applying :)
A light foundation, with light coverage. I have olive skin and for me this works well as a daytime foundation in the summer, your skins still shows through but it just looks better.
I don't use this in the winter, the light dewiness doesn't suit the season. Also due to the light coverage not suitable if one are trying to cover blemishes or discolouration.
A lovely product, perfect on first application but turned me into an oil slick after an hour. I have an oily t zone and normal skin on the rest of my face. My winter shade was 3c. I now mix it with my double wear 3w1 (estee lauder) and it fixes the colour to match me better and makes the foundation a little less heavy too. If there was a primer that would help this stay like it was when I first put it on, I would def look at using this again.
I love this foundation! It's very light and sheer so it gives me a natural look as my skin is still showing through the foundation but it still evens out my skin tone and covers any redness I have. It dries quickly so I find the best way to apply it is to use my fingers. I also found that using primer underneath helped it glide more smoothly onto the skin.
As it is very sheer I wouldn't recommend this if you have lots of things to cover up as I found that I could only build it up to medium coverage. I would also use a powder to set this as it dried dewy on my skin but still felt tacky like it didn't set even after an hour.
Tips: For me, it dries very quickly so I would recommend using your fingers to work the foundation into the skin.
My daughter gave me a bottle of Mac Foundation that she had purchased for herself and found the colour not close enough. The application was easy, the colour a close enough match, but somehow thought it left a 'heavy, dry' appearance. I persevered for about three weeks and tried to apply a little oil into the moisturiser first but was not overly impressed and would not use it again.
I have been using Mac Face and Body for nearly over a year now. I decided to try it out after watching a pixiwoo video on youtube and it looked like such a nice finish.
The formula is quite runny and it gives you a light to medium coverage depending how much you apply. I usually use my RT expert face brush to blend it in or my fingers. It has such a nice dewy finish and is so lightweight its perfect for everyday wear. The formula allows your skin to show through underneath so its perfect for a natural finish.
I have the standard 50ml bottle and having it for nearly year now i think I'm about 3/4 of the way through. (keep in mind i don't wear makeup everyday), My friend has the 150ml bottle and its massive, i think its worth it for an investment because it will last ages. The packaging is different to a standard foundation, but i think the way its designed you squeeze the bottle and can control how much foundation to come out. I find this foundation is perfect to wear to work, its not super heavy and i think its work appropriate.
When i first tried this foundation i fell in love and I'm still in a deep romantic relationship with it. ;)
Tips: If you want to try this out go get matched at a mac counter and ask for a sample, you can get around 6 applications out of it. Check out the gossmakeupartist video on this foundation or some of the pixiwoo everyday makeup tutorials to see it in action !
This is the first foundation I've purchased and I love how natural it looks. I bought this foundation because I was looking for something natural-looking and lightweight and it ticked all the boxes. I have combination skin (oily t-zone, dry cheeks) and I love that it doesn't cling to my dry skin and emphasise those dry spots. In my opinion, I think it looks best applied with your fingers, and you really need to rub it in well otherwise it feels a bit wet and as if it might transfer easily. To apply, put a small amount on the back of your hand and let it warm up, then apply to your face with your fingers!
Tips: Use your fingers to apply, and blend in well!
I love how this has no sunscreen so great in pictures. I wear this along or over tinted moisturiser and it gives a really natural even look. I apply this foundation with my hands as it doesn't go on well with a brush, since its water based it needs the warmth from your fingers to blend it in. its very different to other foundations i've used but it has a good staying power and looks great.
Tips: Warm up in hands before application.
This is such a good foundation and the shades are very flattering. I used these when training as a makeup artist and found the colours easy to mix. There is a white one available so if you buy your summer shade you can customise your winter shade by adding white. The coverage is not full, its a soft dewy finish that suits all skin types especially dry. Its a very natural looking makeup. The only thing I don't like is the price. Mac prices in NZ are ridiculous.
