Lovely scent, lovely colour

I received one of these as a gift and was a bit thrown. I have the Mango Diamonds no. 445. It has a lovely fruity scent which I was rather impressed with. Not being partial to orange, I was wondering how it would look on me, as it really is a bright colour. Instead, when you apply it, it is much lighter and not nearly as intense as you would expect. So it’s pretty much a wear anywhere, anytime shade. It does contain shine pigments to add some sparkle, so this is not a matt lipstick at all. My verdict - I’ve decided to rethink orange!

Tips: The colour can be deceptive, so if you can try before you buy, so much the better

Ex-foliate first!

Pigment is intense and very creamy. But accentuates every line or dry spot on your lips. Last about four hours before you have to top it up.

Tips: Ex-foliate your lips with a lip scrub first. Also if you want the colour to last longer use a lip liner to fill in lips first.

Fantastic for the price

I own a lipstick from this line in the colour 'Make Me Pink'. It is a gorgeous dusty rose kind of colour, which translates to a soft mauve on my lips.

The lipstick is so nice and creamy and applies really easily and does not tug on the lips. I haven't had any trouble with feathering or settling into my lip lines with this lipstick.

The only thing that I am not completely sold on with this lippy is the smell. It is not bad by any means, but it isn't as luxurious as the scent of MAC lipsticks. It is also a sweet vanilla smell, but it definitely smells quite a lot cheaper. Luckily, once the lipstick is applied, you can no longer smell that 'vanilla' scent.

Lavender Voltage

I absolutely love this colour! It is my top chioce for purple lipstick. It is a bright colour, that looks amazing and can be worn day or night.

I adore that it has a bright purple colour, which looks like purple, unlike other colours that have a purple hue.

It goes on very easily.

Unfortunately, it does dry my lips out, and fades after about 2 hours. Although it is high maintenance to keep up, the colour makes it worth the while.

Everyone comments on how amazing my lips look!

Tips: Put on some moisturising lip balm before you use the lipstick to combat any dryness.

So creamy!

I've been looking for a perfect brown lipstick (a la Shelley from Twin Peaks) for a long time now, and that dream was recently fulfilled when I was given a Colour Sensational Honey Beige lipstick as a gift. It glides on so easily and feels so smooth on your lips. It's got a great amount of pigment to it and seems to last a while without any smudging or cracking. In saying that, I wouldn't want to eat or drink with it because being so buttery, it does transfer really easily. The bullet is nice and narrow so it's easy to apply accurately without a brush. It does have a really faint smell to it that is hard to describe, it's not really noticeable enough to be a turnoff though. I don't think the packaging looks that great, but it works and honestly that's not what I'm buying it for anyway. The shade itself is gorgeous, I'm very very happy with how it looks on.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick Review

My mum brought me this lippy, in the dark plummy color (not sure of the name of it) its the third one in the picture and I absolutely love it. It is my daily go to lippy because its not overly dark or extreme in any way, it is more of a subtle dark purple. I love it, it has a smooth consistency. But it for me it doesn't last as long as I would prefer but it still is my fave <3

Tips: Finish with some setting powder or spray on the lips as it doesn't last very long or fill your lips with a similar lip liner PENCIL first this helps to keep the colour longer

So affordable!

Have recently bought a few of these lipsticks (mostly nudes and Browns) and love them for the price! Good everyday colours that I love to keep in my handbag or car for touch ups!

My Go To!

My absolute favourite deep red lippy comes from this range. It's glides on easily and with a wide collection of beautiful colours every girl will find something to suit her! My first downside with this lipstick is that it tends to dry my lips out quite a lot...but I love the colour so much I keep using it anyway. The second is that it smudges quite easily which isn't ideal for eating, drinking etc. again though the colour totally wins through!

Tips: Make sure your lips are well moisturised and you apply a coat of pawpaw or balm before your lipstick as I've found it reasonably drying.

I have several of these!

Definitely one of my favourite lippy brand - have a few in various colours. Love how easy they are to apply and how smooth and creamy they feel... Moisture and color-stay factors are a definite bonus!

Creamy nude!

I was lucky enough to get the September Beauty Box with a colour called Coffee Craze in it. It's a darker nude than I would normally have picked for myself but I must say I was impressed!

It's super creamy and easy to apply, and it a really nice day-to-day lipstick.

I didn't find the staying power that great, but then again it is very creamy and slips around a lot. This might be because I generally apply lip balm first (as I have quite cracked lips).

Tips: I would maybe try a nude/natural coloured lip liner with it to see if it makes it stay on a bit longer.
