Great pigmentation but easy to dupe

Love MAC products. Which is why I have a few of these lipsticks that I wear regularly and really like. Saint Germaine which is amplified coral chick which is a frost and a satin one which name I can't read its that old.

It's awesome that these lipsticks come in different textures. I love the effect that has to a look. What I was disappointed with is how easy it is to find much cheaper brands with the same result.

This however has not stopped me from ordering Mac heroine ..

Tips: Be aware of the texture your using.

MAC lipsticks - some are better!

I do love my MAC lipsticks but feel that some are better than others in terms of pigmentation and wear-time. They are generally amazing though so if someone has never tried a lipstick by MAC I'd say definitely give it a go :) Love the packaging also.

Tips: The swatches provided on MAC's website are not that accurate, google swatches instead to get a better idea of the true colours.

Mac Lipsticks- Must have!

I am the biggest fan of mac lipsticks! The pigmentation and lasting power of these powerful tubes are no doubt some of the best! I have a ever growing collection of 15 and have many standouts I still have to grab.

My favourite finish would have to be cream sheen on days where I'm going for a minimal makeup look. For a stand out colour I believe the retro mattes and amplified formulas are un beatable.

The lipsticks cost $40 each- which is quite pricy but for the quality I think its worth it. I do have to say there are many comparable affordable dupes that can be found meaning you don't have to pay such a price for a great lipstick.

I will forever be a lover of these lipsticks and will continue to re purchase!

Tips: When you are finished your lipstick, keep them! Use back to mac to get a free lipstick to add to your collection. And make sure you prep those lips for the best application!!

Beautiful colours - Gunner

I have only just jumped in after hearing so much about MAC all over the place. I saw a colour that was limited edition and thought I simply must have it! (I missed out on another because I thought too long about it and had I have waited much longer might have missed on this one too).

So the eager wait for it to arrive... did I make a good decision? Is it going to worth the high price tag I just paid? Will the colour suit me (the joys of online shopping).

So it arrives, I rip open the packaging and see a little black box.. very elegant already, opened that carefully and see a little black bullet case... it just screams style, but what about the product?

So I just sit and look at it for a while because I consider the possibilities... what if it doesn't suit.. I will have to re-home it, I would need to make sure I use a brush to apply and not contaminate it. Right photos first (that's what we do right? then I summoned the courage to apply this bold larger than life colour and I just have to say WOW! It is the shade Gunner and it is the deepest darkest purple I have seen (a bit like Heroine but darker) and a satin or semi matte. The scent (lippys all have a scent, some we love some not so much) is a bit like a vanilla milkshake and a tad like... dare I say subte playdoh?) I have to say I just love the colour... I even braved wearing it in public and I didn't notice any stares.

I like the creaminess of the lippy but my biggest let down is the way it wears off. It barely lasts a few hours especially if eating or drinking. I bought a lip liner to try to increase longevity... sadly it didn't do a lot to increase it.

I still am i love with the colour so I can not fault it there but I know if I head out I need to take the bullet with me for touch ups.

The colour is build-able too so if I apply too many times it really darkens to an almost black. I am looking forward to having a play with more options like teaming it with a sparkly gloss

Updated: Recently purchased another shade 'Violetta' which having seen swatches looked purple, got it home and to my surprise s shines a "stunning' shade of pink... not quite what I was after but still a pretty shade. It is amazing how a shade can look so different on other peoples lips/skin. a tad disappointed but it does wear well (and quite a bit better than the previous shade I purchased. Different finishes wear off at different rates.

Thanks so much for this review hun. I have this lippy on hold at the moment with a lovely seller. So glad I asked her to keep one aside for me. I've been looking for the perfect purple and this sounds what I need. I can't wait to wear it he he he

MAC, MAC, MAC.

After all the hype of "once you go MAC, you never go back" and nearly every Youtuber thinking you're sinning if you don't have MAC - yeah, okay, that might be a little far fetched, but you get it, right? - I decided to buy MAC.

But not at $40 per lippy because ain't nobody got time for that! But at about $30 per lippy, because of shipping costs from the US.

So, happily purchasing the MAC Rihanna Viva Glam set for Christmas I could also say that I had MAC lipsticks. And I could pull them out for re-application in a fancier restaurant where people would notice it was MAC and I'd get my money's worth. Because that's why you buy brand names... Don't lie. ;)

So, is this really worth the $30-$40 per lipstick?

Probably not.

First of all, I don't like the smell. It smells like vanilla, but you know the classification of "old-lady scents" - this falls into that category for me.

Secondly, I have Honeylove - it's a matte beige and it has zero lasting power. The most I can get is about four hours without touch-ups, my Jordana's do better than that. It also flakes, and it sinks into the lines on your lips. *Please note that I do sugar scrub my lips everytime before I use it, and I apply lipbalm. The other two are frosts - and they don't last very long either, but about the same as Honeylove. So, it doesn't matter if you buy matte or frost or whatever, they're bound to last the same length.

The bullet is much smaller than I imagined it to be, but there's still quite a lot of product inside.

It has a really creamy consistency though, it glides on effortlessly and apart from the matte that is drying, the others don't dry out your lips. The red does stain my lips a bit though.

Would I repurchase?

Yes. It's MAC. This is one brand I would definitely purchase only for the name, and even if that makes me a brand snob - I don't care. Because once you go MAC, you NEVER go back.

Tips: Google a lot of swatches if you are planning to buy online. I can't stress that enough, even if you think it will suit your skin tone, it might not always be the case.

Awesome design with a vanilla scent, can’t go wron

I was put off by MAC for a very long time, but slowly over the last 18 months peer pressure from other BR members has seen me crumb and at this moment in time I own 7 MAC lipsticks, 6 of which are making this review (Viva Glam is under the MAC Viva Glam review)

Shades in this review: Salon Rouge, Cyber, Heroine, Smoked Purple, Ruby Woo, Sushi Kiss.

Packaging for the MAC lipstick range is very chic and timeless, even with their limited editions they don’t alter the actual shape of the bullet just the colouring and effects. The lipstick feels heavy and worth its price tag which in comparison to some of the other brands out there is quite reasonable. The easy twist up and down mechanism with the wording MAC on the lid and silver barrel inside keeps the theme constant. Formula wise no matter if it is a sheer or matte finish lipstick always goes on creamy and has a faint vanilla scent to it which is an awesome touch. They are all long lasting to the point of eating or drinking they aren’t claiming to be kiss, drink or eat proof so expect to take this lipstick with you to top up a couple of times throughout the day.

Salon Rouge: (Limited Edition comes in a sparkly black case with black barrel inside instead of silver) Deep blue based red, sheer effect Cyber: Darkest blue purple in a satin finish Heroine: Bright purple in a matte finish Smoked Purple: Deep black purple in a matte finish Ruby Woo: Blue based red (the perfect red in my opinion) in a retro matte finish Sushi Kiss: Coral salmon pink/orange in a satin finish

These are awesome and I can’t wait to collect more of them, they look great on my vanity table all together. Out of all the formulas even the matte wasn’t drying on my lips, none of them feathered and none of them dragged. The lipstick itself can become quite soft when left in direct sunlight so store these in a suitable location if you don’t want a melted mess during the summer months

in love <3

At first I couldn't quite wrap my head around the idea of spending $40 on a lipstick...until I popped into smith &caugheys; and visited the MAC counter. I was so overwhelmed by the different shades and types so I asked for help. One of the make up artists then found my perfect match which happened to be the matte shade- Diva. I love how long the shades stay on my lips, and a little goes a long way. You really don't have to slather it on for a decent colour pay off. I highly recommend their matte shades. Only issue is that the matte shades can dry out your lips. Make sure to apply lip balm or lip primer well ahead.

Tips: You can dab a little onto your lips for more of a lip stain look as opposed to a bold lip for a daytime look

Gorgeous

For awhile i hesitated purchasing mac lipsticks because of the price. I saved up and bought too many (lol) and i fell in love these are very beautiful lipsticks. the packaging is so nice and sleek. there are so many different shades for so many different occasions. There staying power isn't as amazing as i thought but are still better than most drugstore lipsticks i have tried. would recommend

Tips: Use them lots!!!

Amazing

I bought some of this the other day because I had been wanting an orange lipstick for quite some time. It was a bit pricey but I have to say, it is my new fave lipstick.

Great Lippy!

I currently only own one MAC lipstick- Peach Blossom. And I have tried and borrowed multiple other colours off friends.

Peach Blossom is a Cremesheen lipstick and it is absolutely beautiful! It is my go to nude lipstick. It has a beautiful pink hue and is so easy to wear. It has a creamy texture and is moisturising to wear.

Like all MAC lipsticks, the packaging is sleek and classy and standout as the MAC brand.

Tips: Exfoliate your lips before application to get the best finish.
