Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer

The colour pay off on these are great. And they are long lasting (stain my lips so it lasts ALL day) However were a bit glossy for my taste and I have a tendancy to smear lippy over my face when it isn't matte and un-budgable.

The tube is gorgeous to look at, and has a nice easy to use applicator, and the tight tube also helps prevent getting too much on the applicator at once otherwise i'd prob have had a big mess...

Overall I did like them and would purchase again, because the colour selection is really nice and i didn't think it was all that pricey either.

So..Everyone and their Grandmother raves about these. NO wonder I bought them. The great shopaholic that I am!! But I should have practiced a bit more self restraint this time. This is why.

Firstly lets talk about the good. Great colour pigmentation. Not drying. Great range of colours. I have mine in Eclipse and Comet. Glossy. Goes on like a lipgloss, looks like a lipstick blah blah blah. I'm sure everyone's got the pros down flat.

But..on my lips, its bleeds like no ones business. Had it on for a day. Went out shopping etc, got home and it was like 5 million red spider legs on my lips. Not cute to say the least. And I have never with any lip products experienced bleeding!! Grrr!! Had high hopes for this product. Didn't agree with me. :(

Will not buy again.

Okay, I really really LOVE these! I bought from ASOS in a sale in 2 different shades and they are seriously amazing! One shade was a matte and it has better staying power than some of my lipsticks! Glides on with ease, doesn't look weird or cakey as you would expect with a matte lip gloss. The glossier shade is good too but a little more for casual usage.

It's Rimmel, what'dya expect other than a 5 star rating?

Okay, starting off with the packaging. It's this beautiful little tube with a crystal top, really cool to look at and easy to hold. It's about the length of my hand when you look at the line from the bottom of my palm to the top of my little finger to give a perception of it's size. I did expect a little bigger, but it's not a thin tube so I'm quite happy with it.

Then, you open it for the first time (and just a quick tip, if you open it for the first time you will see the colour fill the top of the tube where the wand comes out - so if it doesn't it's not brand new) and you get this weird-ish wand, that looks like a normal gloss applicator but is carved out in the middle. It looks really cool, but is it practical?

Yes!! I don't exactly know how it works, but it does. the gloss doesn't get stuck in the middle.

I expected this to be like a Velvetine, drying completely - but it's not.

As they say, it's a mix between a lipstick and a gloss. One con for me is that the formula tends to stay a bit sticky (hence the reason I don't wear lipgloss) but it doesn't make me want to take it off.

The colour pigmentation is out of this world. It gives a true burst of colour and applies really evenly. It lasts through your meals and drinks, even if it does leave a lippy mark on your glass - and it really does last quite a while. My best I've had out of it was around six hours through constant eating.

I am definitely impressed with the quality of this and I will definitely repurchase - and purchase all the other shades too!

I love this lip lacquer so much because it is as it says "in between gloss and lipstick" and I don't usually do too well with lipstick because of colour bleeding of the lips (I know I should use a pencil too) but that isn't necessary with this as the colour stayed on for most of the night and no colour bleeding at all! It also feels nice and smooth on the lips.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't buy this lipstick strictly for its excellent name. Any lip colour that brings to mind a post apocalyptic waste land in which I emerge from the smouldering rubble wearing Mad Max-esque leathers and the perfect red lipstick has my vote (I bought 400 Big Bang, a really highly pigmented red). Indulgent fantasy aside, it's actually a really nice colour and product, and the packaging is fun as well.

I decided to grab myself one of these lip lacquer's due to wanting to try one since they came out and saw that makeup.co.nz had just started to stock Rimmel. This is the first ever lip product I have purchased from this brand and I was very surprised. I got this in the shade Apocalyptic and it is this bright pink color which I absolutely love. I like the ombre packaging look as it is easy to find the shade you are after if you have a collection of these. I find that I do dislike the scent of this lip lacquer as it doesn't smell nice at all but it doesn't linger on your lips. I find that I love the applicator wand it has as it is easy to use and also fast due to the size of it. I have found that these having amazing staying power and aren't very matte looking as mine makes my lips look glossy but not sticky feeling. I would definitely repurchase this again and am tempted to collect more shades.

These wee beauties have great staying power and don't feel sticky on the lips . There not very drying either and I only ever need to touch up if I've eaten a lot or drank lots . This is my go to clubbing lippy looks great and the bright colours are my favourite !!

I really liked this product. It was shiny, lasted. I only have to top it up after eating or drinking. The nude colour is such a lovely shade, not to brown which is great. some nudes are too brown.

I love bright lip colors but I'm not so keen on lip glosses. This is a great in between product. I have two bright colors. I find they are opaque with one swipe and stay lovely and shiny. The staying power is great as well and I only have to top up once a day. Very bright but I love that sometimes. I do find it looks a lot better if you have scrubbed your lips well beforehand as it can settle.
