Not As Bad As I Thought

I purchased 2 of these lacquers from Kmart because they had them on clearance for $5 so I thought I would try it because I've heard some good and bad things about it.

I bought Celestial which is a pretty every day pink and Phenomenon which is a light nude. The first thing I noticed was how bad it smelt but the smell goes away once you've applied it to your lips. I found the application of it fairly easy and it was super pigmented so I only needed one coat of it. Once it was on my lips I didn't find super sticky, it was more of a very slight tacky feeling but it was more on the creamy side so I didn't mind much.

It did not last a very long time on my lips because it was quite glossy but I wasn't expecting it to last very long anyway. As for the colours, I definitely like Celestial more because its an every day colour for me and it suits my skin tone. I think Phenomenon is more for people with lighter skin because it is very nude, I definitely look like I have concealer lips on when I use it by itself so I have to wear a darker nude lipstick underneath and then put a very light coat of the lacquer on top.

Overall this is a decent product and I probably will continue to buy it.

Tips: Using a lip liner will make the application of it easier and it will look neater.

Wouldn't last the apocalypse

I bought two of these when farmers was having a deal all Rimmel lip products for $10, unable to decide I purchased a matte one and the regular shine one.

I this review is on the shiny apocalips I purchased in the shade atomic rose.

The opacity is good, it goes on looking very nice, scent isn't the best but it's not horrible. As for their claim neither a "lip gloss or lipstick" i'd say this is like a lip gloss but the formula is not quite as sticky as a lip gloss which results in the staying power being very poor.

I hate sticky lip glosses so I prefer this over other lip glosses, however I was pretty disappointed with the product based on the expectation they built up for it.

Tips: If you're looking for a colourful lipgloss but don't mind reapplying this is for you!

Not my Favourite

I heard a lot about these lacquers, so had to go out and pick some up. I like the opacity of the lacquers, but i am not a huge fan of how sticky they are on the lips. They also rub off easily, so you have to reapply often. I like the lacquers, but the constant reapplying puts me off using them often.

I like it, not love it

I have the colour Nude Eclipse (Nude shade) and Apocaliptic (Red shade) that I bought to see what all the fuss was about these lip hybrids. Its not a lipgloss and not a lipstick so I want to know what this crazy thing was.

Nude Eclipse is definitely my most worn shade just because nude are my cult favourites. I've worn Apocaliptic a few times and because its red I find it hard to just pick it up and wear it casually.

This lacquer is smooth, creamy, goes onto the lips wet and then dries into a semi matte which is perfect for me as I hate a matte anything. The drying time is a problem for me because it takes ages for it to stop being wet.

I dont find it be long lasting as I only get a couple of hours wear from Apocalips and then I have to re-apply. Also, the crazy shaped applicator? I'm not a fan to be honest. The Lacquer glides on smooth but getting it even on your lips is a little tricky with a hole in the applicator.

Overall, I think its great lip product and looks beautiful on the lips, but would I say its my absolute favourite lip product, sadly no! I dont think I will be repurchasing these Lacquers.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer

This is a really nice lip product. Its packaging is very pretty in a cute little tube. It has a wand applicator making it easy to apply. I love the selection of colors for this product. It looks really nice and opaque once its applied. I do find it to be quite sticky and it does need reapplying a lot, one application won't last all day. But I do like this product and I do recommend.

Apocalips

I'm not really one for lipglosses let alone liquid lipsticks, I am however a big fan of the apocalips.

Firstly the packaging is super fancy almost futuristic design. The applicator makes the product glide on with its creamy formula. This liquid lipstick leaves a nice long lasting finish.

Tips: Wipe off the excess, a little goes a long way.

Overhyped

Let's start off with the good things: It's very pigmented with a very vibrant colour; one easy swipe gives pretty much an opaque coverage (it's pretty creamy as well). It's not very sticky and not drying either. It's also has a very shiny finish.

The problem I have with it is the application: I find it very difficult to apply with the doe foot applicator it comes with. I feel like I'm putting on a lot of product in one go, and I often end up with product outside of my lip line.

I also find that it doesn't stay on very long, nor does it stay in the same place for very long-it's slippery. There's a lot of transfer, and paired with a vibrant, opaque colour makes it a bit of a mess especially when you're trying to put it on, when you're drinking etc.

Tips: I find it better if i just dab a blob of it in the centre of my lips and use my fingers to apply it to the rest of it. For me, this gives exactly the right amount of product.

Apocalips

Love the bottle, love the shades, love the finish, theres not much else to say :) Goes on easy, the wand is amazing and large. The product is pigmented perfectly and is like a cross between lippy and gloss! so perfect for those gurls like me that HATE sticky items. I have a nice nude shade and it just needs a blend with my finger as it migrates to the outsides of my lip lip a bit but most do. Love

Apocalips

I own "600 nude eclipse". The shade doesn't suit me but the texture is so smooth i cant stop wearing it. Its creamy, its soft, it glides on smoothly. Application is fairly simple. It comes with a flat foot brush so you can apply it easily. I personally didnt like the feeling of the applicator but each to their own. It has a sweet scent but an undertone of something that makes me nauseous. As in when applying i literally cant smell it or it churns my stomach. With it being nude i though it'd be pretty thick and colour my lips a nice pale chocolate colour but instead it washes me out. I have naturally red lips and they show through more than the pale and when applying the pale over top i look dead, i dont know why but its not nice. The colour is darker than my skin tone but its not flattering on me at all. The product doesnt last much with me, i have a two year old child who likes anatomy and kisses so my apocalips doesnt last very long around him. The packaging is cute. Being able to see the product colour fade into black is really cute to me. Instead of containers that show all the product especially when its almost empty or containers that show none of the product. Maybe i'll try a red next time. I'd recommend if you like lipgloss.

Tips: Line your lips with a similar coloured lip pencil first.

Apocalips

First things first, I love the punny name for this :P Anyway, this is an awesome lipgloss. For some reason I tend to get it below my lips when rubbing them together after applying, don't know if it's just me, but this is really hard to get off when that happens, as it stains. This is a pro though, where I actually get it on my lips, the lipgloss stays on well, fading slightly to a stained red, so it lasts well all day. I got Aurora, which is a beautiful colour, plus the lipgloss has a stylish, and unique tube I love. I got it cheap, $5 on sale, and it was definitely worth it. I'd pay extra next time if I had to. :)
