Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer

I bought this for a holiday - as a stay at home mum I don't often wear lip gloss and this was a very vibrant bright colour! The colour stays on well and stays bright for quite some time!! I felt a little self conscious as it was so bright and as I said I am not used to wearing any colour on my lips - but I have worn it a couple of times since when I have had the opportunity to go out - definitely not a daytime colour for me but for a night out - yes!!

The colour pay off on these are great. And they are long lasting (stain my lips so it lasts ALL day) However were a bit glossy for my taste and I have a tendancy to smear lippy over my face when it isn't matte and un-budgable.

The tube is gorgeous to look at, and has a nice easy to use applicator, and the tight tube also helps prevent getting too much on the applicator at once otherwise i'd prob have had a big mess...

Overall I did like them and would purchase again, because the colour selection is really nice and i didn't think it was all that pricey either.

I was lucky to win this as part of a prize on facebook. I hadn't tried many Rimmel products before so was excited, the prize arrived the day after bubs was born too so that was lovely :) The shade I received is 100 Phenomenon.

I think the packaging on this lacquer is gorgeous!!! The top of the lid is like a diamond shape, it's black and the bottom is the shade of the lacquer. It has a doe foot applicator and the lid clips closed tightly which is great.

It is easy to apply and to build up. The shade I have is a beautiful nude. It's like a gloss but also like a lipstick. It's not sticky at all and the consistency is semi thin. The scent is strange but for me I don't mind it, I don't find it yuck.

My only downer is that I find the lasting power to be very low sadly. For me it only lasts around one hour which is frustrating and is the only thing putting me off trying more shades (even though I really want too!)

Would I recommend these lacquers??? Yes and no, if you don't mind reapplying it neumerous times throughout the day then yes as it has a smooth formula, applies evenly, the shades are beautiful and they are a good price.

I have this in the shade Nova, a pink that's bright and dark at the same time? It's like a dark pink that still really stands out. I love the texture and how smooth it applies, feeling like a liquid lipstick rather than a gloss. The color payoff is amazing and looks so smooth and bold, and I only need a thin layer for it to look very even. The applicator has a little well inside which is perfect for holding a reservoir of lipgloss. The lasting power is alright as long as I don't eat or drink, because this does tend to transfer. I prefer scented glosses so I don't really like the smell of this. The tube is also really cute with a little faceted top and the color of the gloss showing on the bottom third of the tube. Overall a really nice liquid lipstick/gloss hybrid and I highly recommend it!

Does what it says it does, but in all fairness it is Rimmel, it's compatible to the Too Faced liquid melted lipsticks. Stay on/ stains lips but downfall is that 1) it stinks 2) it flakes and 3) when you try to get it off you shouldn't be in public otherwise you'll make a mess and have a funny looking mouth.

I am really into liquid lipsticks at the moment and these are great! I do wish they had a bit of a bigger colour selection to choose from, but the three I do own, I love! They are surprisingly long wearing which is a bonus and they don't feel sticky or too slippery on my lips. You get a good even application - these actually have one of my favourite applicators - the shape is a bit different to your typical liquid lipstick doe foot and I find it works really well to apply the lipstick smoothly and evenly.

I picked one of these up in the shade Nude Eclipse which is a gorgeous nude beige shade - quite light. These have a scent which I'm not too fond of, but that won't stop me from using it. I love the shade on my medium complexion, it's nude but doesn't make me look dead. I LOVE the applicator on this, it's a doe foot but has a small dip in the flat edge which holds product making it easier to dispense onto the lips instead of re-dipping multiple times. I find their can be a little too much in the dip so scraping off a bit first helps. It applies really nice and even, not patchy at all and has good coverage - quite opaque which is nice. I'm not a gloss girl at all but this is good, it isn't sticky and it doesn't goop up like traditional gloss seems to. What I am disappointed in with this product is the staying power - it lasts an hour if that on me and that's without eating or drinking. It does last a bit longer over a lip liner or a matte lipstick though.

The colour is very pigmented and vibrant pink and is also glossy which is nice. The applicator is very soft and is easy to apply. It's also long lasting with no need for re-applying which is good.

I bought this in Celestial when they were first released in New Zealand, after hearing about how much Fleur De Force loves them.

Rimmel have really upped their game - this seems like their take on the YSL Glossy Stains.

Celestial is a bright dark pink, very vivid. The doefoot applicator is large and applies the product very evenly, with a little dent in the middle of the wand as a sort of 'reservoir' for the product so it doesn't apply too dryly or thinly.

The finish is a beautiful, vibrant gloss which lasts for hours, and when the gloss wears off you're left with a beautiful stain. Because they are so glossy, I didn't find them too drying. Once the glossiness wears off, I tend to apply a balm or gloss over the stain to re-hydrate my lips and emphasise the colour.

The only downside is the colour selection. I'd love to see these in some lighter pinks and rosey colours, as there aren't many shades to choose from that flatter my skintone and lip colour. Apart from that, I'll definitely repurchase.
