Bold. Opaque. Recklessly loaded with pigment. For lips that speak louder than words.

Centrifuschia: obsessed

I'm pretty much the opposite of a bandwagon jumper. If anything gets hyped I'm more likely to stubbornly avoid it. But when I've heard such great things about these lipsticks from so many people, and they were available for $20 in a shade I loved (Centrifuschia) I decided to go for it - and whoaaaaaaah. Crazy in love.

For a start, these come in a purple and silver tube, with a holographic unicorn, stars, and the Lime Crime logo. There is no mistaking the brand or product. On first glance I actually thought the packaging was OTT but I now realise that was crazy talk as I'm falling more and more in love with it all the time.

You open the tube to reveal the lipstick finger, which is nestled in a silver interior tube. The scent jumps out first - to me it smells a little like vanilla, raspberry and cherry blossom: sweet, with a little bit of fruit and flower. It's a sexy, happy scent. When you twist the lipstick finger up it literally screams colour. Centrifuschia is a bold, sassy bright pink with just a hint of purple in the undertone.

One layer on your lips is bright and pretty, two is out of this world bold, gorgeous and sexy. Because these are opaque they're designed to be built, and you can add other colours under or on top to alter the tone and colour to your hearts content.

The curious thing about these lipsticks - that I love - is that the colour transfers to whatever you're using your mouth for - yet your mouth still stays looking made up. It's like the first layer stains your lips with an indelible base coat that hangs around until forcibly removed. That alone makes these lipsticks invaluable, and I'll definitely be buying more while I can (not to mention a spare of this shade!), as I believe they are leaving the NZ market soon.

I'm relatively new to bright lipstick and this was a little confronting for the first few minutes, but I am so in love with the sassy, sexy, bold statement it makes.

Lime Crime lover here!

Tips: If you can't handle the bright, overlay it with a sheer purple or paler pink for a gorgeous, toned down shade

I've since picked up Countessa Flourescent, which is a bright neon pink, and just as stand-out as Centrifuschia. Countessa doesn't stain the same way, but is a super girls, pretty shade which jazzes up a black dress instantly. Just as gorgeous x

Amazing colours

Firstly I'm very sad that these lipsticks are being discontinued but if you can get your hands on them I definitely recommend them! Their colour range is amazing and I own around 8 or 9 of their more 'different' shades myself. Most of the colours stay on very well as long as you don't eat oily foods but I've noticed my shade 'serpentina' a metallic green which is my favourite of the colours has a lesser staying power and is also quite easily smudged. But overall I love these and definitely recommend!

Tips: You may need a lip liner for some shades to stop feathering, in my experience serpentina needs something.

Lime Crime Centrifuschia Opaque Lipstick

This is the first lime crime lipstick I bought. I did buy it second hand because I didn't really want to order off the site at that time and a friend of mine didn't want to keep it as they had only used it a couple times. First off I think the case is nice pink toned lavender which stands out from my other lipsticks that come in black tubes. The silver stars and the unicorn on the tube are a really nice touch. Centrifuschia is as you probably guessed is a vibrant pink fuschia. It does have a creme to satin sheen and goes on smoothly and very opaque. The lipstick has a sort of fake vanilla scent to it. Not the worst vanilla scent, it just doesn't smell like vanilla pods. This Lime Crime lipstick lasts on my lips a long time. I find that I can eat and drink and I'll still have a lot of color on my lips. Even after six hours and two meals later, I find that the color is faded a bit at the sides and worn out in the middle but my lips are still vibrant fuschia. The cons of this product would be that it's more of a dry feeling when I use this lipstick once the lipstick has gone on it feels pretty dry on my lips. Another is that it transfers onto anything that touches my lips - food, cups, loved ones, etc. I once was eating an apple while wearing this and ended up with lip marks of vibrant fuschia on my nose and around my nose and chin. Luckily I was near a ladies room so was able to wipe it off, but it did get a few people looking at me awkwardly before a lady kindly pointed it out. That being said most lipsticks will transfer on to cups, water bottles and love ones (if you like to kiss them). As a lipstick this is a good lipstick. It's not my favorite or the one I reach for the most, but at the time of writing this I think that's because of the color and how it will show up on anything my lips touch. However, it is the only fuschia lipstick I own at the moment and I do like to wear the shade from time to time. I'm not sure if I would repurchase this brand though but that's mainly because of the price, shipping and the security issues with the site and as far as their lipsticks go I definitely prefer their Velvetines to their regular lipsticks.

Tips: Exfoliate your lips before applying this. If you are going to wear this lipstick please avoid spherical, remotely spherical shaped foods like apples for example. This lipstick will still be able to transfer even when it feels dry to touch. After eating if you can’t touch up your lipstick, rub your top and bottom lips together to make the fade less noticeable. I didn't buy this lipstick off the site but I did an order when my credit card was about to expire, I didn't have any issues with security.

Love them!

I was lucky enough to get my hands on few shades of the Lime Crime Opaque lipsticks before they stopped selling them in New Zealand. I've got countessa fluorescent, retrofuturist, glamour 101 and centrifushia – each of those colours are beautiful. The lipsticks came in very cute, sparkly, purple unicorn packaging and the lipsticks cases were the same.

Lime Crime Opaque lipsticks had a smooth texture and glided on nicely to the lips. The shades appeared opaque and highly pigmented with a light shine – one application was enough. Unlike many other lipsticks, these kept my lips moisturised and supple. I had to reapply the lipstick after eating or drinking, otherwise I found it to be long lasting.

It’s unfortunate they stopped selling them in New Zealand, but if you get the chance to get your hands on them, definitely go for it! It’s a unique lipstick that’s worth a try.

Tips: Exfoliate the lips before applying the lipsticks

Not vegan

Last I heard this company claimed to be vegan but wasn’t… I loved the products until I found that out. If that’s your cup of tea then sweet as great product! Otherwise say no to animal cruelty xx

Bright, Bold Lips!

I was actually surprised at how vibrant and bright these were! I had heard the hype and thought maybe people just loved the packaging (a beautiful bonus). I did however find that they dried out my lips if I forgot to moisturise them.

Tips: Can be a little drying so moisturise you lips before applying!

Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick

I recently purchased two Lime Crime lipsticks. I am so in love with them. The colours are so opaque, you only need one swipe, and you have a beautiful, rich, and vibrant colour. I find them a little harder to apply, compared to the NYX round lipsticks, but this means you get a perfect line, without the need for lip liner, and no bleeding. The wear is amazing, I apply in the morning and I have no need to touch up, it's not as creamy looking as when I first put it on, but I find it dries to an almost matte look after about half a day, this could also be because I need to take better care of my lips and keep them moisturised. I highly recommend you add these lipsticks to your collection.

What shades do you have? I am really keen to invest in Airborne Unicorn but haven't taken the plunge just yet. I haven't got a huge amount of disposable income, but do you think Lime Crime lippies are worth the investment? Love xx

Heart warmer!

Finally I have my very first Lime Crime lipstick. WOW!!

Packaging suuuuper cute! The wee box matches the lipstick casing. Purple unicorns and stars, what else would you need!

Pop open the lid and inside is the most glorious looking stick of colour ever! The smell mmmmm yum kind of like candy. The way the colour is moulded is perfect! It's kind of skinnier, more pointier and better shaped than my other lipsticks I have.

First time I used, I just wanted to kiss the stick! The colour Glamour 101 (and Poisonberry) is very well pigmented , it glides on easy. Smooth over your lips. It stays on well for hours, most of the day infact! It's thick when it goes on. Not sure how to explain what I mean, other lipsticks you need to swipe over your lips multiple times for colour, not glamour or Poisonberry

I will definitely be buying more!

*** update*** yes I brought more. Poisonberry. My heart is warm and fluttering in love with them.

Tips: Wear a LC gloss over for extra sparkle!

That's great thanks Mira :) Depends where you ordered from. This one I got from Beauty Bliss and was here in a few days. Excellent considering I'm rural :) I have placed a order with Lime Crime overseas and I'll be waiting weeks from what I've heard

Where has this been all my life?

Haha, more like, where I have been all this time?! How I didn't know about LC before now is a mystery. That aside, I am super glad I am now on to them (thanks to BR!).

Now, I did a lot of 'research' and contemplating before selecting a shade. (I was only able to chose one to start with, but of course I wanted about 5 of them). The cinch-er was watching Shaaanxo's swatch video, where she models each LC shade there is.

All my lippies have arrived in the limited edition 6th anniversary packaging, which is pretty but I'm not a collector of these kinds of things. The actual tube, now, that is awesome! Purple with silver stars, writing and unicorns. It's such a cool lipstick tube.

Two things surprised me upon trying it for the first time: One; the scent. My goodness! Marshmallow-y vanilla sweetness. Two; I was not prepared for how vivid the colour is in the flesh. Wow!

I now own a few different colours, with more to join.

Babette: My first purchase. I would describe it as a very opaque, peachy/coral pastel. Needs a few coats to give full colour coverage. Long lasting.

Countessa Flourescent: A very vivid, very vibrant, fuschia pink. This is bold, bright pink, ladies. Opaque. Glides on smoothly. Long lasting, lip-staining colour.

Airborne Unicorn: Deep violet purple. Very opaque. Probably my least worn colour so far, simply because I feel it makes my teeth appear more yellow.

Next on the hit-list are Great Pink Planet, and Geradium (I'm a sucker for pinks). I'll update when I get these.

Tips: Shop around. These are sold on various NZ websites, and can vary widely in price and colour selection. Oh yeah, and good luck picking just one!

Geradium and Retrofuturist.

The very first thing you will notice about these lipsticks is the packaging. They come in a purple case with a holographic unicorn. This was one of the reasons I really, really wanted to own a Lime Crime lipstick - as I am obsessed with anything that has unicorns on it.

I had read mixed reviews about Lime Crime lipsticks - and I had heard some really unfavourable things about its creator that prevented me from initially trying anything by the company. However my curiosity couldn't hold me back anymore and I have friends who swear by these, so I decided to give them a go.

The first lipstick I will review is Geradium. This is a hot, fluro pink. If you aren't into seriously bold lipstick then you don't want to go near this. It applies amazingly easily - it's super creamy and opaque but it doesn't feel thick. I only need one swipe to get amazing coverage and colour payoff - this is seriously pigmented.

I didn't have any issues with it bleeding or feathering throughout the day (although I have read other people say they have). I didn't use a lip liner either. This was applied at 9am and lasted well up until 9pm. Seriously. I did touch it up twice throughout the day as I wanted it to remain bright and fresh, but I am convinced I could have gotten away with one touch up if I had wanted.

This is easily one of my favourite lipsticks - I love the colour, how pigmented it is and the packaging makes my inner child squeal.

As for Retrofuturist - this is a super bold, bright almost neon red. It's more yellow toned than blue - which I like as it suits my skin tone better.

Like Geradium this is super pigmented and creamy. Again, one application was all I needed to get brilliant colour payoff. I didn't use a lip liner when wearing this and there was slight feathering - so I recommend using a liner if you want to wear this.

Also like Geradium, this lasted literally all day. Again I did touch it up twice as I wanted the bold colour but you really don't need to worry about these fading and looking patchy throughout the day.

I absolutely love this and got a few compliments whilst wearing it.

Overall I would absolutely purchase more from this range - I hope to build my collection up as I love these so much. The only criticism I have is that they are slightly drying to your lips - I got around this by applying lip balm before applying it. Also, these do stain your lips a bit as they are soooo pigmented. I found that my regular way to remove lipstick (using a baby wipe), didn't get rid of all of the lipstick. I got around this by using a lip scrub and it was gone.

I highly recommend these - the packaging is incredible and the lipsticks themselves are brilliant quality.
