This is an interesting one as there are things I love about this concealer, but also things that didn't quite work out for me.
I'll start with the positives. I've never used a concealer with this level of coverage- it could hide pretty much anything. And, once it's on, it's on. This isn't a product that you have to layer, the first application is all you need. Not only that, but a little goes a long way. Throughout the week I was trialling, I reduced the amount I'd put on each day and the minimal approach worked pretty well! It'd last the day without the need for touch-ups- massive plus.
On the flip side, the 'staying power' of the concealer made it quite challenging to blend, it wasn't nearly as elastic as I was expecting. I did find that it settled into any uneven texture. On my skin anyway, it tended to make pores, lines, and dry areas more apparent than I'd like! It's great for shadows and redness, but maybe a primer is needed if you're anything like me and don't quite have skin as smooth as a baby's you know what!
As I said earlier, a little goes a long way and because of that, I don't think the large doe-foot applicator is necessary. I didn't find that dotting it straight onto areas I wanted to conceal quite worked as I had more than necessary on my face. I'm also just not a fan of applicators that touch the skin directly and then go back into the container for who knows how long!
Overall, great for brightening up/ covering any redness or pigmentation that you'd like to hide. Prep your skin well with lots of moisture and try a primer.
I was looking forward to trialing this product, however when I did, it was not what I was expecting. On first impressions the tube is quite sizeable, at 11mls it's larger than my usual brand of concealer, so already bonus points for volume of product, packaging on the tube is snazzy and feels sturdy in the hand, looks good in the makeup bag. Standard tube shape, no ergonomic features here. On opening of the tube, you have the biggest doe-foot applicator on a concealer I have ever seen, the wand itself is not bendable, but you have slight freedom of movement where the doe-foot attaches to the wand. Air lock opening on the product is good to ensure no air gets in so it won't dry out quickly, and it controls how much product gets dispersed each use. Then there is the smell...Oh Lordy, that is Super Off Putting, it smells like fragrance has been added to offset the chemical smell of the concealer, not very nice considering it is supposed to be applied to one's face. Tentatively I applied this in place of my normal concealer, the consistency of this concealer is thicker than I am used to, and when blended it sat on top of my skin, this is one heavy duty concealer. Granted at the end of the day it has not settled into my fine lines, or dried my skin out during the day, but on application this feels thick and heavy. Coverage is definatley full, the smell of the product takes a while to be less noticeable. Removal is great, this washes off easily at the end of the day, doesn't leave any residue and I have sensitive skin, so no irritation for me. I feel I would have rated this higher if it didn't smell so terrible, and if it applied better on my skin, therefore for these two reasons I won't be purchasing this at all.
Tips: If you need a full coverage concealer this is it....(if you can get past the smell of the product itself)
