Not a keeper

The title says it all really. I trialled L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation for a week now. It certainly is lightweight in that it is very runny and I really wondered how long a tube would last. Not a good sign, as this foundation is well over my normal budget. I found that my skin dried out when using this foundation. Considering the product claims to hydrate and is for normal to dry skin, I couldn't work out why this could be. Maybe it wasn't a thick enough coverage? Tick that it has a spf component. But I will not purchasing.

Tips: See if you can it on sale price

Wow I had such incredibly different results! That's why I love reading these reviews, because it shows when a product is really hit-and-miss, versus when everyone loves or hates it.

Glow up? Or down?

Love the slim packaging but find that the foundation is a bit watery.

Gave light coverage for me and my skin looked blotchy and flaky, I was like a monet....Flawless far away, but up close a whole different story haha. The foundation had just sunken into my pores, and revealed a not so glam look.

The foundation does give a slight dewy finish which I liked, nothing too o.t.t, definitely layerable aswell.

Might give it another go through the colder months when my skin is abit more normal-dry skin, right now its combination.

Don't hate it. Don't love it x

Natural sheer look

The L'Oreal Paris infallible pro glow foundation is perfect if you want a natural go to make up look for every day that you can then dress up at night. It is super easy to apply and blends in seamlessly for a natural look. The only downside is the coverage is minimum so you would have to layer it up in some areas.

Tips: Moisturize and use a primer to ensure a glowy look.

New Favourite!

I have always really struggled with face base products. After only a couple of hours I usually want to scrub it off my face because it feels so heavy and sticky. However, liquid and powder foundation tend not to stick to my t-zone area, leaving me with dried and flaking makeup.

The packaging is nothing special for this product. It certainly doesn't scream 'luxury', but of course that is not what you are paying for in a $40 product. I definitely appreciate that it is a squeeze tube though, as it means I can squeeze every last drop out of it.

Firstly, thank you to the website findation.com for giving me the perfect Pro-Glow colour match - 202 Creamy Natural. I was so impressed at how truly natural it looked on my face by giving me a little bit more colour yet not turning my complexion too pink/yellow/orange.

I absolutely adored the consistency of this foundation. It is quite fluid, which I appreciated because it spread evenly across my face and could be spread quite thin. You can easily layer the liquid for more coverage, but personally I prefer only light coverage so was happy with one swipe across my entire face. In saying that, I would probably class this as a 'light to medium' coverage foundation, so if you want a medium level foundation this would still work well.

As mentioned above, my biggest issue is that face products tend to flake off my t-zone. L'Oreal Pro-Glow DID NOT DO THIS! It claims to be hydrating, and I feel it absolutely is. It stayed in place from 8am to 6pm (probably longer, if I had the patience!) and did not dry out the problem areas of my face. This was the result when wearing it alone, with a primer underneath, and with SPF 50 underneath.

I have also unfortunately had really bad breakouts this week. As I'm sure everyone knows, bad acne or breakouts can severely diminish your confidence. When I saw how bad my skin looked I didn't even want to go to work! But WOW I was so impressed that I could use Pro-Glow both with concealer and as a concealer itself, and it gave me enough confidence to strut my stuff at work.

The finish is certainly a glowy look. I used it as an everyday product over the last week, but I can imagine it would also be stunning at night time and would make highlighter really pop.

Overall, I will 100% re-purchase this.

Tips: I actually had a lot of success applying this with my fingers rather than a beauty blender or brush. If you haven't quite mastered using your beauty tools, that is absolutely no problem with Pro-Glow!

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro Glow Foundation

I like it, it wouldn't be my everyday foundation for work due to being a medium coverage but will be perfect for days off & weekends when i need a lighter coverage & a glow. Super easy to apply, used a blender & tried it with & without a primer & it worked fine. Had good stickability in this grossly humid weather were having in at the moment. Doesn't have a strong fragrance which is great, I hate smelling your makeup all day. Colour was great , matched my complexion well, I usually find a neutral beige is still a lil orangey by this wasn't, yay! Another great L'oreal product❤

Tips: Found it a little to thin to use with a brush to appy but worked great with a blender.

Infallible pro-glow

Gosh I think I’m in love with this product! I’ve worn foundation for the past 20 years and I honestly feel this foundation is my perfect match for my dry skin. At the end of the day I don’t have flakey foundation on the bridge of my nose as some past foundation has done. I am trialing 207 sand beige and the colour was a pretty good match. Directions say to shake well and when you do you can hear how light and liquid the foundation is. It also says to dot in rolling motion for flawless coverage and yes it does give great coverage for a medium, what I like is it is buildable too, I could add more to places where I have broken capillaries and it did well to cover them (I often use concealer) but found with an extra build with the foundation I didn’t really need to add concealer. With my job I don’t need to wear makeup as such but like to use foundation to cover my not so great skin and keep a natural look, infallible pro-glow I felt did that without looking heavy and nor did it feel heavy on the skin. Actually I liked the way it sat on the skin - it is certainly a radiant finish but I found a light dust of powder and it was fine. Unfortunately I trialled this product in the hottest humid conditions so I have had days off perspiring heavily so don’t feel I can honestly say it lasts 24 hours and I don’t wear makeup for that long anyway I’m one to remove my makeup once I get home at the end of the day. However I did go from work to out and just added a little more and I was very impressed how fresh it looked again so well done L’Oreal I’m totally sold on the product will definitely be using this for some time to come.

Tips: Follow the instructions- shake well before use and the rolling motion was a great tip.

Perfect foundation for someone else.

This is a great foundation…for somebody else. Unfortunately, this foundation has a very limited shade range. It fails to cater for the very fair, as well as those with deep skin tones. I trialled 202 Creamy Natural which is the ‘lightest’ shade for warm undertones. Honestly, it looked orange on me. Admittedly, I am extremely pale. My perfect fit is Nars Sheer Glow in Siberia. I feel that I should point out that I knew that this shade would be terrible for me but, I wanted to test the formula.

The formula was amazing! It has a radiant finish that gives a subtle glow to the skin. The foundation does not accentuate any pores and sits nicely on the skin. This formula, when used with a makeup sponge, is easy to blend and build. It has a nice medium coverage that does not feel heavy.

Aside from the shade range my only negative is that the packaging can get a little messy as the foundation is very runny. The foundation has a tendency to spill out of the nozzle when it is upright. So, naturally, I store this upside down.

Ultimately, if L’oreal extended their shade range I would repurchase this beauty in a fairer shade.

L’Oréal Pro Glow

I quite like this foundation, although it didn’t really last the 24 hours that it promises.

The consistency is quite thin, and it doesn’t have much of a scent. I found the easiest way to apply this is with a beauty blender, as it went quite patchy with a foundation brush.

It is definitely medium coverage, and it was somewhat buildable for me. I tried this with and without a primer, and it definitely lasted longer with the primer. I would also recommend a setting powder, although I don’t think it’s completely necessary.

I found it lasted about 12 hours with the primer, and only about 8 or so without. It started to get quite patchy and rubbed off.

However this could just be a weird reaction with my skin, which I would consider normal. It would probably last quite well on people with really dry skin. I have also noticed some breakouts on my forehead and nose after wearing this for a couple of days, but they have gone away now.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this to people with really dry skin, as I’m sure it would definitely be closer to holding up the 24 hour promise. I think people with normal to dry skin should try it too, because it does look really nice, especially for the first few hours after it was applied.

Tips: Definitely use a good primer underneath, and maybe a setting powder or spray depending on your skin type. Beauty blenders are probably the best way to apply it.

Surprised!

The packaging of the L'oreal Paris Infallible pro-glow foundation is rather cheap looking. In my opinion, its not a cheap foundation, but it definitely looks it from the packaging. I really love that its SPF as well. The first thing i noticed when applying this product was that it was very chemically smelling. I almost didnt want to put it on my face from the smell. The consistency was just right for a foundation, not too liquid-y but not too thick. It applied very well and i only need a small amount to cover my face. From the small amount i got the right cover hat i like which is around a medium, but of course i could have built it up more. The shade blended well into my skin and it wasn't obvious that i was wearing foundation which is awesome. It did have a little but of a sticky feeling, it wasn't too bad. In regards to lasting, i wouldn't say it lasted 24 hours... but i dont need it to. It lasted me the day at work which is all i need. It is a good foundation but i have used others that are more affordable and give me the same outcome.

Tips: Only need a small amount!

L'Oreal Pro Glow Foundation - Review

Ever since this product released in the US I have heard loads about it - mostly good, so when I saw this trial opportunity I immediately put my hand up for it! This product claims to be a lightweight, medium coverage foundation with a glowy finish and up to 24 hour wear. I personally have combination skin (oily with stubborn dry patches) but I prefer a glowy finish so I was interested to see how this foundation would hold up, especially in this summer's heat. This foundation retails for $39.99 and contains 30ml of product, which is around average. It comes in a plastic squeeze tube type container - as the foundation has a thin texture sometimes this can be hard to control and I end up with too much product.

I chose the shade '202' for this foundation and even though it had the right undertone for me it was just a tiny bit too light. The consistency was very runny - I had to be careful not to spill it when I opened the cap. I applied it using a beauty blender sponge, which left me with light-medium coverage - this was perfect for me. The finish was very glowy and natural, but I had to set it with a tiny bit of powder as otherwise it would have broken down in minutes with my oily skin. Even so, it didn't emphasise my dry patches which is a big plus! I found with primer it lasted around 12 hours, with no breaking down (it just looked a bit oily, but I do have oily combination skin). Without it lasted for a little while less, but still didn't break down. I really liked the finish of this foundation though, and also the fact that it contains SPF is great!

Overall, I really enjoyed this foundation - it has good light-medium coverage, wears well and has a natural glowy finish. I imagine it would be great for dry skin as it is very hydrating. However it is on the mre expensive end of 'drugstore' products, costing $39.99, but I think it is a great product and would definitely buy it if it was on sale or I had a coupon.

Tips: Be careful when you open the tube - it's very easy to spill!
