I like this mascara, it goes on eslily and separates lashes well, but I didn't find it to lengthen my lashes much and also smudges (panda eyes after a while) quite easily. I still use it (as it is a new tube) but probably would try something else next time.

This is as good as drugstore mascara gets, in my opinion. The wand is a maneuverable size and I've never had any issues with excess product. It gives colour and length more than volume but separates the lashes well and avoids clumping. I much prefer this formula to the waterproof version, though. I found it gave incredible results but nothing, I mean nothing, would get it off. I tried multiple eye makeup removers, hot flannels, steamy showers, makeup wipes, the only way to remove it was to pick it off with your nails which left you with irritated eyes and sparse lashes. Back to the washable formula though, I have tried more mascaras than I could count and I always come back to this - so I suppose it is my holy grail drugstore mascara.
Tips: If you don't see results the first time, stick with it. As with a lot of mascaras, the formula is very wet when it is new and will work best after a few weeks of usage.
hmmmmm. this was a tough one. on one hand i liked the finish from the mascara, no clumping which is great, thats always a good start, however the volume just wasnt there for me. i have naturally long thick lashes and normally with mascara it looks like i have lash extensions. however this one just looked average. i also found that it took a while to dry and i got little black mascara smudges under my eyes. id use it if i had nothing else, or if i was just pottering around, but not dramatic enough for me.
Tips: apply a few coats but wait for each to dry first.
Define-A-Lash mascara has been one of the easiest mascaras I've used. I have long eyelashes that can get glooped up if the brush lacks definition. The Define-A-Lash brush has 'teeth' spaced just right so my lashes don't get tangled. I spend less time applying mascara with this product, because I can usually skip the step of separating my eyelashes with a lash comb when I'm done applying mascara. I'm often asked if I'm wearing false eyelashes when I wear this product.
Tips: For extra 'oomph,' use an eyelash curler before and after applying mascara.
I am really in love with this mascara. The wand is awesome for getting to the root of the lashes, it lengthens, gives volume and doesn't clump. I find that it is actually quite hard to get off though - "removes easily with soap and water" yeah right Maybelline, I have to reaaly soak my lashes with a drenched cotton bad using a eye makeup remover. That's my only problem though, other wise the mascara is damn near perfect.
tried this mascara a few years ago and i have to say its definitely one of the best ones i've tried. Even got the waterproof one but the formula for that one wasn't as good as this one. Gives my lashes volume and they don't clump my lashes and make them stick together. Does dry quite fast so don't have any issues with smudging.
Out of all my mascaras, this is the one i dislike the most. It has no effect on my lashes whatsoever but just wets it and turns it black, didn't benefit from it at all, no effects of separation, volume or lengthening. Don't waste your time, i wish i had purchased something else instead of this. I usually love maybelline mascaras, ill stick to my illegal length
I got this mascara as a freebie and I do like it but it's definitely not one of my favourites. I find that all it does to my lashes is colour them black and not add any additional volume and length. But in saying that I do find it works quite well if I'm just having a chill day at home and still wanna wear some mascara as it just makes my usually light lashes look a bit more normal and not like I don't have any at all
If you're looking for super dramatic eye lashes, ones that you want people talking about....then I wouldn't recommend this one.
To be honest, this is a mascara I would use if I wanted to wear a bit of make up (like for example those that put on a bit of mascara if going to the supermarket), not if I was planning a night out.
I got it free, I don't think I would have purchased it if I had seen it in a shop!
I received this for free when ilovebeauty.co.nz opened and they were sending these out to email subscribers. I personally prefer a large natural bristle brush over a plastic or silicone brush. So after seeing the brush I wasn't off to a good start. I did give it a fair chance reluctantly using it for about two weeks but I really just didn't like this mascara because of the brush. The formula did work well for my lashes though. This is just my view on this mascara though, I know heaps of people that love and swear by this mascara in their day to day life.
