The purple side for your upper lashes works really really well. It extends my lashes really well and i only have to apply two coats. It never clumps for me no matter what temperature it is stored in. It tends to get onto my eyelid whenever i apply because the brush is quite wide.
However the bottom lashes side has the faintest colour I find, it barley shows up on my bottom lashes. You need like 5 coats for it to show up. So I go over the bottom ones in a waterproof mascara.
It stays on all day and doesn't rub off onto your skin which is really good.
So I've been really excited to get this mascara for a while now, purely to use on my lower lashes. Unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations.
In the interest of saving room in my make up bag, I have used the upper lash side a couple of times and I never like it. I've tried one coat and 2 coats. With one coat it's just a really natural look and with 2 it's quite clumpy and not volumizing the way I would want it to be.
The lower lash end is even more disappointing. For one, unlike my Avon mascara that I used on my bottom lashes for years, this does nothing other than coating them black. It doesn't lengthen them at all, which is what I want because my lower lashes are small and sparse. Also you would expect less product to come out of that end, due to it being for smaller/less lashes, but so little product is on the brush that it takes quite a lot of work to just get it onto the lashes. Even using two coats, it's not satisfactory for me.
Overall I don't like this mascara and will not repurchase it, I would rather try to manoeuvre a larger wand to do my lower lashes than use this again.
Tips: If you want to use the upper lash side, make sure you turn the wand at the correct angle. The bristles go in a kind of spiral, "wing" like pattern and using the wrong part does even less for your lashes.
