Maybelline Define-a-lash Mascara Review

I also received this Mascara as a freebie from ilovebeauty :)

This is the perfect mascara for those ladies who are looking for a mascara which will provide a light/natural eye look. Perfect for daytime wear.

It separates the eyelashes beautifully and evenly, without making your lashes thick and clumpy.

If you are looking for a more "fuller" look, it definitely is buildable, however to achieve this look it does take a few coats.

The only negative for me, is that the brush is a little flimsy!

All and all, a great mascara for the price :)

I have thin sparse but black lashes that are longer than they look (very little pigment at the tips) so I was really hoping that this would volumize my lashes and help them to look as long as they are or longer. So the pros... My lashes are visibly longer, darker and separated Yay! Ophthalmologist approved (for those that have sensitive eyes or are wary about what they use around their eyes this is a big plus)

Cons... No volume! not water resistant (although mine didn't smudge and I didn't shed a tear I could see it being an issue)

I am very fussy on mascara, and this product is great. Good value for money. I have very long lashes and there is a tendency for mascara to clump. Not so with this Maybelline Define-A-Lash, in fact.. it does exactly that! It defines your lashes very well :) would recommend and purchase again.

So I actually got this mascara as a freebie so wasn't exactly expecting much but wow I love it. The only other mascara I own is a waterproof Mac one so unless it is raining I always go for this.

It makes my lashes look so much longer almost like I'm wearing false eyelashes.

This is only the third Mascara I have ever used. I know sad. But I just can't afford a lot of different ones. But this one is by far the greatest I have ever used. It goes on easy and really defines my lashes. I had to wait to put my glasses on because it was smudged onto the lens it made my lashes that long. I would definitely spend the money on this anyday.

I tend to use mascaras which are a little more 'high-end' (for want of a better word). In the past I have been known to spend a lot of money on purchasing top of the line mascara. When I received this Maybelline mascara I was not sure what to expect and was a little bit apprehensive in trying it. BUT I am so pleased that I did!

This mascara is definitely in contention with some of the best mascara's that I have tried. The difference in the length and volume of my lashes was obvious from the first stroke of the wand! In fact I am now opting for Define-a-Lash instead of my much more expensive brand which I have been using for a while.

I would definitely recommend this mascara to anyone who is looking for something new and good to try. Its price point makes it reasonably affordable in the market, and I haven't found mine to go clumpy and thick at all. A really good all-round mascara. 5 stars from me!!

I love this Mascara .Even better that it was a freebie from ilovebeauty!! The brush wasn't big and bulky and did exactly what it said it would by defining my lashes even better no clumping!!

I received this from ilovebeauty.. I opened it right away and tested it. I was pleasantly surprised.. I have my signature tip of blowing on the want to make it tacky.. So at first I applied it right out of the tube.. It was a bit too wet, I wouldn't recommend it for mascara novices or people who aren't so confident in applying mascara without letting it go tacky a bit first.. Second eye I did my blow on the wand then apply.. much better result, easily buildable, great volume and beautiful colour. Gave very nice lashes! This is a great mascara and I am learning that I do like maybelling mascara a lot.. My only gripe is they are always a very wet formula which is prone to boo boos, but if you stick to my blowing on the wand and letting it go tacky recommendation you cant go wrong!

I love a freebie - I especially love a freebie that works. So I was quite excited when I received this and realised I'd used it before and had a really good experience with it!

Define a Lash #1 was Dark Brown, the latest one is Very Black. Both colours work well - I love Dark brown mascaras for a more natural day look, I love popping eyelashes but sometimes black can be a bit too much. Both colours have great coverage.

I found this product did define my lashes with no clumping and a nice even lash separation.

So the negative....

It does however have the tendency to smudge in hot weather (plus I'm a bit of an eye-rubber at times)

The first time I used this mascara I broke the brush - well I blamed myself, I am rather heavy of hand, but I think the brush may in fact be this mascaras downfall! It's quite a flimsy, bendy brush. I think some flexibility in a mascara brush is necessary and indeed preferable; however this brush doesn't even go in the tube easily. So I guess time will tell if the brush lasts as long as the product the second time around.
