Maybelline Define-a-lash Mascara Review

I was really disappointed with this product. I'm always very picky on the brushes in particular and this one met my high standards, however the actual mascara was thick, sticky and clumpy and required A LOT of swiping the wand on top of the mascara tube before it was good enough to apply to my eyelashes. I naturally have thicky, long eyelashes and was hoping this would enhance them, not stick them together!!

This was a mascara that seemed to flood the market when i was in my teens. Not only did i buy one, but i got one free off a competition too so i got my share fair of experience with this product.

Firstly, i do like the packaging. Its metallic pink, its bright, its fun! The wand on this mascara uses a silicon brush. If you read my reviews, you would know silicon brushes aren't my favorite, although i can easily look past using them if the results are amazing, which in this case-they were not.

But before we get to that, the mascara formula seemed nice, dark black and a good creamy consistency.

Application, well here is where all the good things end. I honestly found this brush and mascara did not define my lashes without clumps. In fact my lashes were more clumpy than they were defined. Maybe i just used it wrong, or got a dodgy bottle who knows. I also find it didn't really add anything to my eyes or my eyelashes. They're already black so unless volume and drama and definition is added to my lashes, there's really no point in me using a mascara that doesn't really add much to my eyelashes and so for this reason, i would not repurchase this product.

Out of all my mascaras, this is the one i dislike the most. It has no effect on my lashes whatsoever but just wets it and turns it black, didn't benefit from it at all, no effects of separation, volume or lengthening. Don't waste your time, i wish i had purchased something else instead of this. I usually love maybelline mascaras, ill stick to my illegal length

The brush has short bristles which make it hard to apply especially if you have short lashes, like me. The mascara didn't clump at all for me. The mascara did not add any volume to my lashes at all, only length. It is impossible to to over-do your lashes with this mascara because it has a very natural look. I would not buy this mascara again as there are much better mascaras out there.

This is a product I definitely won't repurchase.

I have found this to be a fairly average product. It's easy enough to apply, it also comes in very nice looking packaging and it sure does define your lashes length wise.

I couldn't notice anything discernible in the volume department, but that's not the end of the world as it leaves you with nice long, dark lashes. What I had a problems with was finding the product seemed to irritate my eyes.

For some reason I suffer from watery eyes occasionally, and if it happened while wearing this mascara I was ending up with mascara running under my eyes, not a good look at work.

When I was younger I remember being In love with this mascara. It was my first type of mascara with this type of brush,and I was amazed/ In love. Now skip to 5 years later and I found this mascara again at a make up sale for only $8!!! Oh my gosh I was so excited my old love that I had forgotten about was so cheap.

Well my first time using it all it did was clump my eyelashes together! It look so bad, it was a clumpy mess! For the life of me I could not get them to unclump and I had to go to work like this :( . When I got home I went to take it off and what a nightmare. The mascara would not budge and was not coming off. I know that waterproof are a lot harder to get off, but my make up remover can pretty much get anything off in a wipe or too, but not this!!! I would of spent a good 20 mins trying to get it off and still woke up with black around my eye's.

This is not what I remember 5 years ago, but this mascara is no longer for me and in the bin it will be going :(

Recently recieved this in a package I brought off i love beauty. Honestly I wouldn't pay for this, ever. unless it was about $8. the wand is good however but incomparable to other brands such as elf.

I really dislike this mascara. The formula and brush do nothing for my lashes except drag them down. It doesn't wear well and smudges down on your face. Might be good for people with already amazingly long and curly lashes, but it's not for me.

This mascara seemed to be what i was looking for but it was a let down. The brush is crappy and the formula in combination with the brush, clumps really easily. Its horrible if you ever get teary or anything because it stings your eyes pretty badly. I don't recommend this product. I threw mine out. Waste of money!

I found that this mascara was super clumpy, and also that it took forever to dry. The formula really sticks to the brush, so you end up with a ton of it on your eyelashes. Which means that even the slightest blink gives you massive panda eyes.

As for it being easy to wash off. Too right. It washed off easily which meant that I could re-apply it a few times until i got it right and didn't blink. But it also meant that within about an hour it had transferred to the rest of face. Ridiculous. I'd happily give up it being easily washable for something with a little staying power. Would definitely not recommend.
