In The Buff Palette

I bought the W7 In the Buff Palette from Postie Plus for about $12, I heard it's very similar to one of the Naked palettes. The eyeshadow palette comes in a cool tin that is nice and easy to open. The colours are really nice natural nudes, there's a few of them that I haven't used but alot of great shades that look great blended together. It comes with a brush/sponge which is useless so definitely apply the eyeshadows with some good brushes. A good eyeshadow primer is a must with these as i found they dont stay on long without it and the colours look alot better. Overall this is great for the price you pay.

I do not like Parabens. Like the tin packaging.

I like the tin that this comes in it could be used to carry brushes in if you removed the pallet. I think this pallet is okay I use one of the matte shades on my eye brows and it works well. I tried applying eye shadows from this pallet with no primer and they faded out and creased up easily so that makes me feel like they are not great and with parabens in it this is not good for you. When I use the shadows there is alot of powder that comes away from the cake. I am not a fan of the silvery glitter that comes in some of the shades either. I like the goldy / bronzy shades and the black is decently pigmented. I like the brush applicator too. It does not smell too bad. Some of the colours are a bit too boring for me like there is this greyish colour looks a bit too cool toned I think. Some do not really show up at all. $20.00 is too much for this cheaply made product you can get it cheaper elsewhere. Ideal for beginners and travelling.

W7 In The Buff Palette - Review

I picked this palette up from Postie Plus a while back, thinking it looked gorgeous with a bunch of natural shades, and it isn't disappointing for the price! I think it cost me around $15, though I did see a bunch of these palettes on clearance at The Warehouse a while ago for only $3.50 (crazy right?!).

This palette comes in a tin style case - this reminds me of the Urban Decay Naked palettes, and I've heard these are sort of a dupe for them. I don't like this style of packaging, I prefer sleeker packaging (such as Morphe) but it is still nice. Inside you get 12 eyeshadows, with a range of shimmery browny-bronzy colours and a few mattes - a light yellow toned nude, a taupe brown and a black. You also get a flimsy little double sided brush/sponge duo, which doesn't do a good job at blending at all. The pigmentation of the shades in this palette is incredible though! The metallic/shimmer shades are super creamy and pigmented, and could easily be intensified by spraying a little setting spray on your brush. The mattes are good, I found the yellow toned nude and taupe were nice but the matte black fell short, though I would expect that from a 'drugstore' palette anyway.

This palette is really good for the price, but definitely not the best I've tried. Would be a good palette to take travelling if you're worried about damaging your more expensive shadows, but you would probably need a better brush to use with it.

W7 In The Buff Palette

For a relatively inexpensive eyeshadow palette, this is fantastic. I've brought 3-4 of these over time and they really are great for the price. The palette is very pigmented for starters with minimal fallout if any, they are a great dupe for the Urban Decay naked palettes, which I have also and even though I do prefer my naked palettes more, the W7 ones are only a little bit behind as far as performance and pigment etc.  They come in a nice looking metal case, the inside looks abit budget and flimsy where the actual eyeshadows are kept and the eyeshadow applicator is also abit budget, I never use it and instead use my own eyeshadow brushes, but the packaging is what is to be expected for the price. The only issue with the cases that I've had repeatedly is that the pin that hinges the lid on can slide out easily and the lid then comes off. It's abit annoying to keep fixing and I've had this happen with all the W7 palettes I've had.  I've had no issues with the eyeshadows creasing throughout the day and they seem to wear great with or without using a eyeshadow primer.  So i've found the actual eyeshadow product really good just the packaging leaves abit to be desired. Definitely worth buying however and a great cheap option for a eyeshadow palette to use daily and save some money!

Blown away by the In the buff palette

When W7 released their own nude palette I wasn't interested in it as I loved my Urban Decay naked palettes and was content with the amount of nude palettes I owned (Well I thought I was) , Until recently Postie plus sent me a wonderful package (Thank you Postie plus) filled with different types of beauty products including their "In the buff palette". This retailed at $15 and I wasn't sure what to expect.

It comes in a tin container, and a similar colour selection of shimmers and mattes, comparing it to the Urban decay naked 2 palette. It has a double ended eye shadow brush but no mirror inside.

There is a versatile range of nudes that go from light matte and shimmers that gradually darken to an off matte black shade. I find the matte shades harder to work with but the shimmery shades blend very easily. The texture of these are soft with a minimum amount of fallout, For the price the formula of these are overall great, the eye shadows dont last very long but if I apply an eye shadow underneath it makes the eye shadows long wearing.

Overall I was very surprised with this palette, for the price it is worth every cent, I would highly recommend this for those that are beginners with makeup or on a beauty budget. I have used this more times than I had imagined I would and created so many different eye makeup looks from natural to smokey cut crease.

Tips: Apply an eye shadow base before applying the eye shadow to help it last longer on the eye lids.

Great dupe!

Now called colour me buff, the packaging is still the same and the product is still similar/same.

I use this as an "extra" for when I really need to glam up my face. I love the variety of colours and how easy they are to blend, the glitter colours stay on strong and build up really nicely. I can wear this shade all day and night without primer and it lasts!!

the palette comes with with a blending brush and sponge in one which is great for on the go.

I keep this in my kit as it suits all skin tones and colour hair, it's a really great neutral palette to have that has a range of colours especially for such a cheap price!

Tips: mix it up with your already favourite shadows to create awesome effects

Cheap, good for beginners

I picked this up for $5 and figured the quality wouldn't matter too much for the price. I liked that this was a bit different to most nude palettes out there which are straight copies of the Naked palette, this one had very different shades. The palette is packaged really nicely for the price, it comes in a chocolate brown tin, with a mirror, and one of those cheap dual ended brushes/applicators that are terrible at applying the product. The tin does feel a bit flimsy and there are 12 shades in the palette; nudes, golds, coppers, bronzes and black and silver.

The shades vary in pigmentation, the bronzes and golds tend to be very pigmented but the nudes and browns aren't very pigmented. However, I think this is very good for beginners as these are very forgiving to work with as they blend easily away if you make a mistake. There is a bit of fallout with these, but it's easy enough to brush away. I found the shadows to be very pretty and I was surprised that wear-time was above average and these did last all day with minimal creasing, just a bit of fadage. However if used with a good base these last really well.

Overall, this is cheap, and I wouldn't expect it to be amazing for the price but it did the job and wasn't horrible and I'd gladly use it again.

Everyday and night wear

This nude palette is great! Perfect for everyday wear, the colours last and are easy to blend. There is a good balance of matte and shiny shadows to make a range of looks. Definitely worth the <20 spent! I've only had this palette for a couple of weeks, but it has become my go-to. Really enjoying experimenting.

W7 – IN THE BUFF PALETTE | REVIEW

I immediately thought of the Urban Decay Naked Palettes when I spotted this. I don’t have any of the palettes myself so I can’t compare them very well but the W7 in the buff is a definite dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 2. I love all the colors in this palette, they can make so many different looks to take you from day to night, it’s great playing around with the color combinations to see the looks you can create. All of the colors in this palette have neutral brown\gold hue except the black. They almost all also have a slight shimmer to them which looks great when applied on the eyelids. However, I do think they could be slightly more pigmented.

I love the packaging of this product, the pale gold tin is very pretty and definitely mimics the look of the Naked Palettes. I was quite disappointed though when I went to use the brush with this palette, it’s very thin and a little scratchy so it doesn’t apply the eyeshadows very well. So I have been using one of my QC eyeshadow brushes instead. This palette has become a favorite of mine and it’s only a fraction of the cost of a Naked 2 if your looking for a cheap alternative. Have you used this palette? What’s your favorite Naked dupe?
