Regret purchasing this

This was one of the first eyeshadow palettes I ever purchased (why I picked such a colourful palette I do not know as I am a neutral shadow girl) and I didn't use it much until I recently rediscovered it at the bottom of my makeup draw and was reminded why it was placed there in the first place.

First off, the layout of this palette doesn't help its cause as there is not much room to swirl your brush in a single shade and get a decent amount of colour on the brush. It also means you have to be careful not to flick the shades all over each other.

This palette's name is in no way accurate and probably fools a few people...it is not intensely pigmented at all. A primer improves the pigmentation a little but it's still not great.

Fallout is a bit of an issue with the shadows in this palette too which a primer also helps with and it isn't as bad as some glittery shades in other palettes that I own. The shades are also proned to breaking apart easily which is a pain and messy and the texture of the shadows means they aren't the easiest to blend out.

I find once I manage to get enough colour on my lids the color does stay looking nice for most of the day which is good. I hate it when you spend ages create a lovely eye look only to have it fade into nothing during the day.

For the price I guess it's ok but I still wouldn't repurchase it there are more affordable and better quality palettes than this around (check out sleek, wet n wild color icon, jordana etc). There is no need to settle for mediocre products like this now days. Plus I don't really have the time in the mornings to muck around layering this on when a single swipe of others does the job.

Tips: Use an eyeshadow primer to improve intensity and pigmentation of the shadows and to help prevent fall out.

Gorgeous Colours.

This was purchased on a whim because the different colours really drew me in. I am mainly a neutral kind of girl and I thought if I purchased this then I could experiment with brighter colours.

First of all the actual eyeshadows are quite small BUT I didn't mind because you get so many. They look stunning in the pan and the packaging is quite sleek and sturdy so you could easily travel with it.

Unfortunately I found that these had quite a lot of fallout (but nothing that can't be cleaned up), and the pigmentation isn't that spectacular. I found that swiping them on my eyes - even over a primer, wasn't enough colour payoff so I layered at least 2 coats of product (depending on shade and intensity I desired).

Because of the fallout and powdery-ness of the shadows, they're not the easiest to blend out so I would suggest putting a neutral shade under these to help you blend them. When I did this they blended out nicely.

In saying this, they lasted a 12 hour day (with ELF's eyelid primer underneath), without too much movement or dulling of the colours.

I wouldn't repurchase this just because they are slightly hard to work with BUT for the price they're good. I also found that when using these with a mixing product (I use ELF's Lock and Seal), the pigmentation is a lot better and they look quite intense and the shimmer comes out.

If you're looking for something fun to play with and don't mind working a little to get the best out of these then I would recommend it, but I don't think I would recommend this to a beginner.

Tips: When using any shadows with fallout - do your eyes first! Then you can clean your face up and apply foundation and it looks clean :)

To enable these to blend easier, put a neutral shade all over your lid - this helps the eyeshadows to create a more ombre effect.

ALWAYS prime your lids to ensure the shadow pops and lasts all day.

Lastly if you want more pigmentation from these, use a mixing medium like ELF's Lock and Seal - this really intensifies the colours.

Great review! I have this palette also. I will have to get my hands on some of this elf lock and seal. May I ask where you got that from?
