Not Toooooooooooooo Bad

...but not great either.

I do love the colours I got (Cosmic Rays, Supernova Casanova and Moon Rocker) and find that they are pretty easy to apply to my eye lids ( I use my fingers, perhaps using a brush would be easier), but I find I need quite a bit of product to create a dramatic look.

I will be playing around with these eye shadows some more, and if I saw them on sale cheap again I would probably buy them. I don't think I would have purchased them if they were at their normal price however!

Tips: Only pull half of the protective cover off the glitter part of the eye shadow. Then you won't waste as much!

Shimmer'n'shine

I got one of these through a magazine in a dark purple shade and I hadn't really heard much about them through magazines at the time so I wasn't sure how this product was supposed to work or basically be applied. So I experimented with the textures in this duo and personally I am 50/50 about this product. This product has a 'flip' case with a creamy textured eye shadow inside which I have to say is really pigmented and easy to apply. However, the next half in the duo pack which screws off the bottom is a shimmer eye shadow which to be honest, gets everywhere and anywhere!!! I have tried using the shimmery shadows before in this duo and they are a lot of shimmer but not enough colour especially for a 'bold' look so I rarely use that part of the duo pack. However overall, it is a reasonably good product to purchase if you are on the lookout for something cheap enough as they often have these in their special bins at farmers!

Tips: Apply the 'creamy' eye shadow as a base on your lids, then for a slight 'shimmer' effect, apply some touches of the shimmery powder over the top, it is a cheaper drugstore version of the mac pigments in my opinion!

Australis Cosmetics Double Decker Shadow Duo

I have been using these eye shadows for a few weeks now and I was expecting disappointment to be honest but no I am super impressed. The creme shadow which is in the top part of the packaging opens up easily is very creamy, pigmented and easy to apply It blends out super easy, The loose eye shadow is in a bottom which you screw out can be very messy if you're not careful as all loose shadows are,It is quite shimmery but gives the creme shadow such a pop its amazing how great they work together.Long lasting does not budge all day but was easy to remove with my makeup wipe,I really like this product great quality cute packaging and I cant wait to purchase it in more colours.Wish I had of brought more on NZsale they were only $2.

Tips: Note-I do use an eye shadow primer and I love the results ( No creasing) have not tried it without a primer so may pay to use a primer. I use the Elf one super cheap and great quality. .

Cheap Enough

I quite enjoy this product. it is very cheap as i got it on nzsale for $3 so i though i would give it a go. I wasnt disappointed for the price i was actually suprised. I have 3 colours and i think they are all great, although the cream shadow could be a bit brighter as they are all really dark colours.

A winning combination

I got this shadow duo on sale on nzsale. It was super cheap so I thought, what the hey and decided to make the purchase. For the price? The eye shadow on top is a nice cream consistency with some real intense pigments that actually show up on my skin. Adding the shimmery/glittery powder onto your lid is like icing on the cake. This might not be for everyone as it is messy, BUT I personally love it. It's pretty good quality and worth it for the price. It kinda ticks all the boxes really: affordable, pigmented and really easy to use.

Tips: It might be a good idea to add some eyelash glue to areas you want the glitter powder to adhere to - it will prevent fall out and will help the glitter stay put. This will work over any cream shadow though.

Ickhy powder

After hearing good things, i tried it finally. Nope - funnily enough I still hate loose powders. Messy, messy, messy and messy! Decent pigment but not worth it at all.

Tips: Not for bags - goes everywhere

50/50

I really like the cream eye shadow on top of the duo, it is rich in colour and very pigmented. It goes on smooth and lasts well, it also doesn't crease and is reasonably easy to blend out (for a cream shadow that is). However I really don't like the loose shadow on the bottom of the duo. It gets everywhere, it is very messy and I find the quality not as good as the cream shadow on the top. The loose shadow is very shimmery and has fine glitter running throughout. Very impressed with the cream eye shadow on top but very underwhelmed with the loose eye shadow on the underside of the duo.

Great for travel.

I have this in the shade cosmic rays and It is really beautiful. The cream eyeshadow looks darker in the pan which put me off at first but when applied it goes this extremely wearable bronze colour which is so wearable, even just by itself. If put on by itself it does crease on my eyes, however it is fairly simple to blend back out, and with eye primer it doesn't do it. The loose powder on the bottom is so pretty, it's a lovely champagne colour. I find that putting on my finger and placing it on my inner corner or in the centre of my lid creates a really pretty effect. I like taking it travelling on weekends away as it is so compact and makes it so much easier than taking bulky palettes.

Double decker shadow duo

I received this item in a magazine a while ago and never got around to experimenting with it until drecently. I don't have the most wearable one. It's in the shade Greenhouse Effect and the loose pigment is absoloutly beautiful! It's almost duso chromed with with gold and green flects. The cream eye shadow is black with gold flects but isn't very wearable for me personally so I just wear the silver duo chromed pigment over top of a neutral cream base and it lasts all day but does have some fall out.

Tips: Just pat the loose pigment on instead of swiping, this helps prevent fall out.

Australis Double Decker Shadow Duo

i got given this in the shade of blue cream shadow and the silver pigment first off i am used to wearing neutrals on my eyes so blue isnt a very wearable colour for me but i did try it and the colour is amazing the reflects of the blue in the cream shadow really make it eyecatching but when i tried to put in on my eyelid it just looked horrible and it was really sticky and icky i couldnt pat it on with out it pulling my eyelid, i couldnt glide it over my eyelid without out it stretching my eye and making it really taut, not very impressive, next i tried the glitter, it was so nice so silky and reflective, i just put this right above my upper waterline and kind ombre'd it out, it looked really nice but the fall out wow it was terrible, and unfortunately the pigment didnt last very long so i was left with glittery under eyes and glitterless eyelids
