I used the classic lip balm and it smelt really strange, I don't feel it did much for my lips other than make them shiny, product was difficult to get out and a lot had to be applied to hydrate lips.

Chapstick was a popular brand back when I was in high school. It was small and easy to carry around, but also easy to lose. I always got the strawberry flavour. It was pinky red in colour and smelt sweet like strawberries as well.
The tube was practical in every way that it was easy to apply on to my lips. The balm had a bit of a sticky feel and gave my lips a slight sheen. It also moistened up my lips, especially during winter when I had cracks and flaky lips. It also eased the discomfort of sore cracked lips, but it felt like I had an oily layer on my lips, which was a feeling that I didn’t like.
Times have changed and I’m getting more educated about the downfall of some skincare products, so I prefer using lip balms which are natural and cruelty free. There are now higher quality lip balms that cost about the same which I prefer using.
Tips: Exfoliate the lips for a smooth feel after using the lip balm
Sadly I am not a fan of this brand, I have tried the strawberry, cherry and plain chapsticks and they all leave a dirt taste once applied. It does moisturise the lips nicely but i won’t be purchasing this brand again.
I bought this back in the day when I was carefree, in high school and worked at DEKA part time - so the beauty budget didn't extend that far. I chose the strawberry stick - because, yum. The smell was delicious. Unfortunately that's where the love affair ended. I found Chapstick super drying. And it was a vicious cycle ... "my lips are dry, better apply chapstick - hmmmm, what a lovely smell" ... "hmmm, my lips seem really dryer - better get that lovely chapstick out" ... wash and repeat. Now I've not had a lot of luck with moisturising lip products, but I'd have to say this was one of the worst experiences. However I'd still say to a friend 'give it a go', because as it's been around so long I'm pretty sure it's more an issue with my lips rather than the product.
I had strawberry flavour. Initially I liked it, lips felt moisturised with a hint of flavour. Then using it all the time, I felt it didn't stay on my lips and I actually ended up getting dry lips.
I love lip balms, I just have them pretty much everywhere - but this is not one I have purchased more than once.
First of all I dont find the packaging that enticing - yeh Im a sucker for packaging. The balm is also overpriced in my opinion.
I found this dries and goes hard in the tube which makes it hard to apply. The scent is weird as well - hard to describe - but I know a chapstick smell when I smell it!!
Not buying again.
I know this is a classic lip care product but I have to say this is a hard pass for me. Chapstick is no longer the best quality lip balm on the market in my humble opinion. I purchased the strawberry one from my local pak n save. Its a classic so you have high expectations but found this to just be a sticky, soft mess that went everywhere. I felt like the product went all over my mouth and didn't just stay on my lips. It did moisturize my lips but the constancy was just so off putting I won't be repurchasing this.
I hate the flavour of these, it had a weird bitter aftertaste that really longers. I also don't find they hydrate as well as many othrs- they have a tendency to just sit on my lips. They're okay if your lips aren't chapped, but if you're dry or flakey they just aren't enough. the strawberry one burns my lips and gives me a flakey rash :(
Tips: avoid if you tend to react to fragrances like me.
I have used this many times and have always found that at first its great, it leaves my lips soft and hydrated. But after a few days of using it my lips always end up worse than before. They get very dry and I have to apply more of it to make them feel better. I dont really enjoy the smell of any of them but if I had to choose a fave it would be strawberry. I find the product to be a bit sticky and tastes very chemically, I much rather go for a product with more natural ingredients.
I love a good lip balm and tend to have one in every pocket of every bag so when an event at work left over 100 of these on my desk I was over the moon. Till I wasn’t.
There are so many amazing balms in tilions of awesome shapes and flavours that leave your lips feeling ever so decadent. To be honest I’m probably a bit spoilt in this department as I got really bored with this product very quickly and ended up giving them away by the handfuls.
The cherry flavour is nice and it applies smoothly but I found it needed to be applied far more often than some of the liquid type lip balms I’ve used. It does work to soften lips overall but only when used continuously. It’s a good old classic style lip balm that you can return to but the market has moved forward with some phenomenal products and I found this little chapstick to be left behind.
As I said, maybe I’ve been spoilt for choice. I’d use it again but I would purchase others products over this for sure.
Not once did any of the sticks damage in my bag though, so that is a redeeming factor!
