L'Oréal Paris Sugar Scrubs Glow Face Scrub Review

I'll admit I was initially dubious about this. Last time I tried a L'Oreal product I found the scent unpleasant and overwhelming, so I was worried this would be a similar experience.

However, I shouldn't have worried, this product smelt and performed as wonderfully as the blurb suggested!

As per the instructions, I used a little and rubbed it onto my dry face, then wet my hands and massaged it in. The sugars quickly melted under my fingers and my skin was left polished but never sore or sensitive. Perhaps my only criticism is that the instructions say to use a small amount, but I found the sugars melted so quickly that I am becoming more generous with the portion size.

After I finish washing and drying my face my skin feels soft and hydrated from the lovely oils in the scrub. I have sensitive combination skin so it's very important to me that my skin is never dried out while it gets cleansed, so this scrub really hit the mark.

As a bonus, it comes in a lovely glass jar that feels really quality. I'm not sure that the jar is big enough for he amount I used and how often (they suggest three times a week), but then again I don't like huge bottles that last way too long, so I guess it's better to replace a smaller, affordable product more often.

Ok, so obviously one wouldn't actually eat it, but that's how it smells and feels! I was thrilled to be chosen for this trial, as I'm a little bit obsessed with scrubs, and the quality varies wildly. I'm happy to report that this one would be in my A grade range of scrubs, in terms of striking a good balance of gentle-yet-effective. It does not feel harsh, and nor does my skin feel stripped after using it, but instead soft and glowing, but not tight and dry. It comes in a heavy glass jar, which initially seemed a bit of overkill, but is actually great for sitting on the side of the bath and not leaking. I also took it with me on a work trip, and it never leaked. I just use wit a bit of water and scrub the sugar gently for a minute or so. Afterwards my skin is clean and glowing.

These sugars are good for you - well your face for sure! L'Oréal has made a great sugar scrub with this formula!

I loved the rose gold colouring and box the scrub came in. I did find the glass heavy so probably wouldn't take on a trip/away with me but fine to use at home and easy to hold.

The smell was pleasant enough but the scrub itself was awesome!

I tried a gentle rub before adding any water - mostly to apply to the areas I wanted (chin, forehead, nose) and keep away from eyes, then I slowly added warm water and used wee circles to "scrub" away gently.

The scrub came off nicely and there wasn't a greasy/oily feeling after like some other sugar scrubs I have used.

My skin definitely felt rejuvenated, smoother and softer after using this sugar scrub.

Also I tried it around my lips and gently on my lips too - made them feel great for lippy etc.

This scrub comes in a see through glass jar with a light brown screw on lid. I quite like that the jar is glass, it makes it feel like they have made a real effort and that it's a good quality product inside. The box that the jar comes in is nice, it has a little clear window so you can see the jar inside the box without having to open the box to see the product. The box has the instructions on how to use the scrub and also pictures on how to use it aswell. I decided to use it 3 times before giving my review, it says use 3 times a week and after 1 week, skins texture is refined and complexion is visibly brighter. The scrub is light brown and has 3 different fine sugars in it aswell as rosemary extract, sunflower seed oil, coconut oil and grape seed oil. It also has extract from capsicum which I thought was interesting. All these different oils must do great things to the skin! You don't really need alot of product because once you add a little warm water it's enough to smooth over the face and lips nicely. The scrub doesn't feel sore when massaging onto my skin like I thought it would and I love how you can use it as a lip scrub aswell, multi purpose products like this definitely appeal to me. The first time i used it I noticed a big difference in my skin, it made it so soft and glowy! Even my lips felt better as I do get rough lips that need lots of moisture so this scrub really got rid of the dry skin and made them feel alot smoother. I've never had a product scrub my face so well so I'm really happy with the results. The great thing is it doesn't dry my skin out with all the oils, it seems to leave it really moisturised. I love the smell, it reminds me of the butter menthol vicks vapordrops, it smells good enough to eat! I think there's definitely a good amount of product in the jar for the price, considering you don't need alot to give you face a good scrub each time. I haven't noticed the texture of my skin looking much different at the moment but each time I use it in see the glow straight after. I'm quite excited to carry on using it for a few more weeks to see more of a difference in my skin.

I love the packaging, it was easy to read and understand and easy to get into, the scrub itself smelt very nice. I use a scrub just before a shower so I found it a bit of a pain to have to clean my face dry it then use this first but it was a good product, made my skin feel really soft, but I did not get a refined skin texture or brighter complextion...

The L’Oreal Paris Sugar Scrubs Glow Scrub worked its magic once the fine sugars and grape seed oil were massaged away into my skin, leaving a sweet smell. After each use my face was well-exfoliated and felt so smooth, after two week my pores reduced and a lasting glow remained.

I love this product and can't stop feeling the soft, smooth touch of my skin. Love it.

Wow, wow, wow! I’m so in love with this face scrub and it’s already replaced my precious go to scrub. I’ve never used a product quite like this before, I was so surprised at how it just melted on to my skin and how the sugar scrub just melted, it was so cool! I found this scrub to be the best “harshness” I’ve come across, it wasn’t too gritty and I love how gentle it felt on my face, especially once it started to melt away. My skin has been absolutely loving this scrub and because it’s gentle I’m able to use it a few times a week. The only thing I’m not sure about with this product is the scent, it’s heavely scented, I can’t say that I love the smell, but I don’t hate it either, it smelt SO familiar though but I just can’t pin point the scent! I can’t wait to get out there and try the other versions of this scrub!

My judgement was clouded by my excitement for 2 favourite ingredients. I was expecting the scrub to have an intoxicating fragrance of Monoi and Grape Seed Oil but instead I got a dose of mediocre Mojitos mixed with a sickly scent of honey strepsils.

The sturdy packaging couldn't hide the fact that the colour of the product resembles its distant cousin, Spirulina and not the orange syrup in the promo. Even though the scrub is not hard to use, having the instructions on the jar (instead of the box) would have served as a reminder that it's not intended for daily use.

The texture is extremely soft and the sugar is fine enough that it's still gentle on the skin while giving it a good scrub. Aside from the fact it tastes ghastly it's fantastic as a lip scrub because it creates a smooth canvas for lip products to glide over.

Do I notice a difference? Yes and no. It helps prep my face for my skincare routine by removing the dead skin but I wouldn't say it improves the texture. It makes my skin feel smoother and appear less dull but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's more radiant.

With continued use I could possibly start to see an improvement in the texture and an improvement in the brightness of my skin but for now it's just a good old scrub.

I liked the simplicity of the square glass jar.

I quite liked the smell of this. It was a light, soft, almost fruity smell. It was gentle on my skin. It was a gentle exfoliation without being really harsh on my skin. It also didn’t make me break out (bonus)!

I didnt really feel that it improved my skin tone any more than a normal exfoliator

I would still continue to use this though!
