Nice but overpowering

I used to wear this fragrance a long time ago and at first was in love with it. But then it became popular and I got started to feel sick wearing it. It also caused headaches.

Wild Violets/Lily of the Valley/Freesia are the top notes, Moroccan Orange Flower/Ylang/Red Rose/Jasmine are the middle notes and Oakmoss/Sandalwood/Honey are the base notes.

For me, this perfume has just too much going on and is overpowering. If you spray lightly it isn't so bad but if you accidentally spray too much........

Tips: It can become quite sickly, so apply sparingly.

My nans signature perfume

Perfume is so hard to review because everyones tastes are different. I personally cant stand the smell of this perfume but i know alot of ladies who love it, I was given this as a gift, luckily my nan loves it so i gave it to her.

This is sort of a musky floral smell, not a sweet scent in my oppinion and has a slight..... powder smell.... like baby powder i guess. Its also a very strong perfume. I dont usually get headaches from strong perfume but this stuff gives me headaches! Definitely a night time perfume but i do know people who wear this during the day *Cough* my nan *cough*. Its also a very long lasting perfume. If this is your kind of scent then i will say that its good value for money, Cheap as chips for a 100ml bottle, lasts sooooo long, and its strong so you only need a small spritz.

Not my cup of tea but definitely a classic

Infamous red door

I found that red door was very strong and overpowering when first put on. The scent was very flowery and I found it to be old or kind of musky smelling. However over time (a long time) as the perfume aired and started to wear off a bit, I found it to be more pleasant as the overpowering-ness of it had worn off, and the mid and base notes came through. I put this on at night and in the morning, the base notes smelt really nice, although it was very faint, as it had obviously worn off. However everyone's different in what scents they like and red door is a classic :)

Tips: Spray lightly!!!!!!

Red Door

This was one of the first perfumes I owned. Someone gave me a small bottle when I was a preteen. I wasn't overly fond of the scent but I didn't know a lot of other perfumes other than the cheap spray colognes you found in supermarkets. I was living in the tropics and it stood out to me as a heavy sweet spicy scent that's more for mature women. But after reading other member's reviews I decided to try it out a few times and see if my opinion has changed. Well, it doesn't smell as strong as I remember it but I do still think it's more of a mature fragrance. It still sort of smells spicy to me for some reason but the scent is better than I remember it. I sprayed on myself and was surprised the EDT lasted almost three hours. I sprayed it on one wrist and another fruity sort of scent on the other and when I asked my bf which scent he preferred I was kinda of disappointed he liked it better as although it's a fairly nice scent it's not really my style and would only wear it in winter or cooler months.

Not for me

Growing up every time we asked Mum what we could get her as a present she said, "Red Door." When she finally got a little bottle of it, not from us thankfully, she didn't like it and passed it on to me. Unfortunately the scent was far too strong for me and actually gave me a headache.

The bottle I got is fairly basic, I like the one in the pictures here much more - I always wondered why mine wasn't fashioned into a door for its name. For me the notes come out as very strong floral, the main being jasmine I think which I have never been a big fan of. It is very strong, I only had the EDT but it was more like the strenght of most EDPs.

Red Door

What a classic perfume. This reminds me of my Nana as she wears it too. I felt like a million dollars when I had my first bottle of Red Door about 20 years ago. A perfume you can walk past someone and recognise what it is.

I love Red Door!!!

Red Door is one of signature scents, I’m greedy and actually have a total of 5 that I call my signature scent but Red Door holds more than just a beautiful scent for me, it was what my husband first brought me when we was dating, it’s also the one fragrance that when I wear it he goes all dough-boy on me and goofy, he can call it out even if I’m in another room. It has a warm lingering thing going on and it’s kind of magical. The bottle is elegant and timeless; 100ml bottle sat on my dresser stands out amongst the others as it’s quite statuesque. A tall clear glass bottle that allows you to see the liquid inside, etched with the panelling effect of a door, the gold atomiser and topper of the glass is pretty and classic, with the red door logo embossed into it. Finishing off with a clear acrylic red chunky square lid. Which all works perfectly to give you the perfect amount of perfume each and every time you spray it, the tubing off of the atomiser does reach the bottom so all the product can be used. Fragrance wise it’s hard to explain as it sprays differently than it settles, as sprayed its oriental scented, with hints of poppies or lilies and faint whiffs of spices, but once on and warmth by your skin its lingers as a musk which has a depth of spices, it sticks around too a few spritzs in the morning will see you through to dinner.

A classic beauty

First off, unwrapping the redesigned bottle is a treat. It's now a red pressed glass bottle in the shape of a door, and a very attractive addition to your fragrance collection. Having never bought this scent before - probably because of the old red and gold packaging, I was pleasantly surprised with the floral scent. Yes it probably does suit a slightly older consumer profile, but I was happy to use this and I will continue to do so. The staying-power of this fragrance was actually quite staggering. After about 12 hours, it's still there. However, it's not an over-powering scent at all, and really pleasant for every day use. It also got the thumbs-up from my hubby, which is of course, quite important. Over all, it scored high marks with me.

Tips: You don't need to spray on much of this fragrance, it goes a long way!

Delicious floral perfume

I've been wearing this for a few days now and love it. It's fragrance is strong, floral but no overpowering. I love that the smell lasts the whole day and doesn't need a top up. I've also received a few compliments as well. Some perfumes also make me sneeze after spraying but this one doesn't. I also love the bottle, much more modern then the original Red Door.

Tips: I spray on both wrists and my neck and it's enough to be smelling sweet all day.

Love the scent

I'm in love with wearing this purfume, I've read alot that it's for the "older" woman, But i think that's not ture. You would only want to spray very little though as it can be rather strong on the scense's. I do one spray on my neck and that's it, and i can still smell it on me hour's later, It really has staying power. The packaging is cute and much more appealling than the red door bottle i remember. I find also that maybe an hour after applied it really settle's down and is alot nicer. I love the fact that with red door, you can walk past someone and the scent wooshes past them lol love it! it's very rare that an affordable purfume has that effect I've found. I think every woman who love's bold scent's should have a bottle of red door in thier purfume collection.

Tips: Only spray very little as it can be rather strong and overpowering.
