I had been wanting to buy the Urban decay primer potion ever since I started beauty school around 5 years ago, the hype was so big and being a student with my first baby on the way I couldn't afford it. I was lucky enough to get a sample pack of primers, Original, Eden, Sin and Anti aging when I brought the Naked 3 palette which was a lovely surprise to add when I was overseas.
Original primer potion: A small amount of product goes a long way, the texture feels like drying glue, you rub it onto your eyelids before adding your eye shadow. The first few times i took my time and the product dries up fast which makes it hard to blend into your skin. So apply it fast to prevent it from drying, once its dried its invisible, it feels like a light layer added to your skin. It really does make your eye shadow stand out more, it gives your eye shadow a crisp colour to it. Blending out eye shadow is a bit of a task, the eye shadow gets stuck onto the eye lid and it can be hard to work with, this is the problem I didn't like with the primer potion.
Sin primer potion: This primer has a shimmer to it, the first time I applied this one I used too much and it went all over my eyelid and down the sides of my cheeks, now I thought I could add foundation to the top and that just made it worse so I had to wipe off all the Primer and start again. You need the smallest amount when using this one, it has the prettiest shimmer which i had tried using as a highlight but never worked for me. Blending it out was a little easier than the original primer potion but still an effort as to not having a primer underneath.
Both primers work really well, my eye shadow didn't crease and it looked fantastic all day, removing the eye shadow requires a bit more time similar to removing waterproof mascara. I have only recently used up my Original and Sin primer potion samples and have Eden and Anti aging left to use but after using the first 2 im in no hurry to test these ones.
For me I wouldn't consider buying these, for the price Im sure I could find a cheaper alternative and I dislike how it makes it hard for me to blend out my eye shadow. This product wasn't for me and all this lusting over for many years has left me broken hearted.
This was recommended to me by the staff at mecca and it definitely helps eye shadow stick and stay. Unfortunately it is a MISSION to remove and the one that I got is a beige colour so sometimes hard to conceal completely with light colours or less pigmented formulas.
Tips: Colour-less version would be a better choice. But only use if you are prepared to SCRUB later.
