Rich brown

I purchased the brown shade of this ( will insert exact shade shortly) at a makeup sale recently.

Uses: I primarily use this as a base for my everyday brown "naked 2" palette looks. It definitely adds dimension to the eyeshadow looks I am creating and leaves a deeper, warmer result that if I hadn't used the colour tattoo.

the product:

I do find the product can occasionally be applied to thickly and result in premature creasing of my eyeshadow. I am not marking the product down for this because I did buy it from a makeup sale but I find it sometimes a bit hard and difficult to get to glide onto my finger , sometimes I feel like I have to dig. Which is disappointing as it also results in a harder application onto my eyes.

The packing of the colour tattoo is a little pot that contains the product with a screw on lid. I think the packing suits the product well and was a good decision. It is sleek and easy to fit in along with any travel makeup etc.

Longevity: I found this product lasted a decent time under my eyeshadow, I also believe it acted as a primer and helped my eyeshadow to stay put throughout the day/night which I was pleased with.

Tips: Don't use too much as it can get a little heavy and crease!

STUNNING eyes

Wow, I was blown away with this little pot of colour. I love eye colours, whether it's mascara, eyeliner or shadow, so when I saw this in purple I had to try it. I was a bit dubious about a creamy textured eyeshadow staying put and not sinking into my eyelid creases. I wasn't sure about the best way to apply at first so I used my fingers (which I do for most eyeshadows). This worked, however, it was hard to get a decent amount onto my eyelids this way; was ok for a lighter colour. So I dug out an old eyeshadow sponge brush applicator which enabled me to layer the colour up a bit and create a really vivid purple. And it really does stay on for 24 hours; well even longer on one occasion. I was out quite late and had to be up early the next day so I went to bed with my makeup on (I know, smack on the hand), but the eyeshadow was still perfect the next day and the colour hadn't faded, it looked fresh. It feels great on too, not greasy or sticky and it doesn't sink into your eyelids. The pot is really handy too, easy to fit into a bag if you need to travel. The price is really reasonable; $13.99 and you don't need much so it will last a long time.

Tips: apply liquid eyelliner first (or kohl), and then use your sponge tip applicator (or eyeliner brush) to apply colour tattoo over the top, it looks amazing.

Maybelline Eye Studio Colour Tattoo Review

I got a few holographic varieties and sorry to say but it did crease. Was very shimmery and you can get different looks depending on how well you blend and how heavy you put on the product. I think mine did fade a little as it sunk into my skin and creased after long wear even when you put powder on it seems to clump um so with this product i find less is more I got mine cheap so I am ok with that.

Great eyeshadow bases!

I purchased a couple of these a while ago and i don't regret it. They are great as a BASE for your eyeshadow. I don't really use these on their own but if you apply the desired colour on the lid before you apply the rest of your eyeshadow they help the eyeshadow stick, stay longer, stop creasing and look more vibrant. On their own they are pretty but not incredibly pigmented. I would recommend these though because they are very affordable and a good base is important in any makeup look you create. The range of colours isn't huge but there are colours available that are very useful and great to add in your collection. These are very creamy and easy to apply. Also the amount of product you get is amazing for the price!

Tips: Apply with finger straight to the eyelids, apply powder eyeshadow over top if desired :)

Patchy??

Everyone raved about this so I went to a makeup sale and saw they had these for $6. I got Barely branded and tried it out and to me it seemed patchy when applied? I tried using it as a base with eyeshadow over top blending it but I found it looked even worse and super super patchy? im not sure if it was a dud or not but I was kind of disappointed :( will continue to try use it though as people still rate it and I think once I get it right, i may fall in love.

Tips: Use fingers to apply and the heat from your hands warm up the product making it easier to apply :)

amazing colours

I recently bought 3 of these colours. Gold, silver and a soft pink. I absolutely love them. They are so easy to apply and just glides on. I use my fingers. I can build up to make it bolder or just do a light covering. It can work well with powder eye shadows especially great if shading and making different effects. I found it stayed on all day and if I got a bit sweaty it still stayed in place. It has a Matt feel but looks shiny. I'm absolutely loving them.

Tips: Apply with finger tips. I found making sure my finger tips were warm it worked better.

Last so long, you'll need it surgically removed!

This product was everything I hoped for and more! I currently own three; Back to Bronze, Barely Branded and Tough As Taupe.

These eyeshadows are extremely pigmented and, sticks to what it claims, last forever! I must admit in the shimmer eyeshadows, it wears to more of a matte as time progresses but boy, it really is 'Tough As Taupe' to get off! I have literally swatched it on my hand before going to bed and it has not moved a bit when I wake up in the morning!

What an amazing product!

Tips: Blend it out around the edged with either your fingers or with a fluffy blending bush for a nice soft, and sometimes a smokey appearanced, look.

Never Again

I heard a lot of friends "raving" about how awesome the Maybeline Eye Studio Tattoo was... I beg to differ... Although the colours are absolutely amazing, and look even better in the pot - I found these eye shadows absolutely impossible to apply and when applied the texture would start to look extremely patchy! When I left the pot for a couple of days and came back to try it out again, it appeared to be cracked and very hard for me to move it around on my eyes from the brush. I also found that the colours stuck to my brushes a lot more than other eye shadows. Maybelline Eye Studio Tattoo definitely looks better in the pots!

Not what I expected

I heard a lot of people raving about this eye shadow so I was really excited to give it a go.. I bought bad to the bronze and was quite disappointed. I found that the product moved around a lot and it was hard to get an even layer that wasn't patchy. I also found that it would separate if I didn't use it for a few weeks, stuff the colour and consistency of Vaseline would be sitting on top.

A little disappointed

the texture of the product made it hard to use, it did not smooth on easily and felt more like a solid balm than a gel. Also the colour it looked in the packaging did not look the same when applied to skin. The texture may have been more solid than expected due to the recent cold weather, but nonetheless I found it a bit of a hassle to work with.

Tips: Maybe use as a base before applying powder shadows.
