essano Body Lotion

I really like this body lotion it's natural and despite having a pretty rose, woody, spicy sort of scent it doesn't irritate my skin. It also doesn't smell like something your nanna would use. For a natural body lotion and the size of the bottle it seems to be a reasonable price. I wasn't sure if this would be hydrating and moisturizing enough for winter since often have to switch to either body oil or body butter at night during the winter otherwise my skin gets too dry and itchy. But I have been using this at night sometimes when I ran low on body butter. The only reason why I haven't given this product more smooches is because like a lot of the Essano products the pumps are faulty mine nearly broke off when I struggled a bit to get it unlocked the first time. I think if the company fixed their pumps I would probably buy their products more often. The other downside is I've been using this body lotion less than seven times and somehow I've used up a quarter of the bottle which is unusually fast for a body lotion and big bottle at that to get used up. Despite that I'm leaning more toward repurchasing this than not.

Smells great and works as a moisturiser, though I didn't find it to be any kind of miracle. It goes quite far so it lasted ages, 1 pump did most of my body. Would buy again :)

This body lotion comes in a dark bottle with a pump. It promises to be intensively hydrating so I bought it because my skin was feeling really dry after a cold winter. My initial thoughts when I first applied it were that it has a very very strong smell. It's a musky sort of scent that I'm not that fond of and reminded me of an old lady's bathroom! I persevered though, because I'm not into waste! I found that the lotion definitely did what it said it would - it was hydrating and left my dry skin feeling really much more soft and supple. It wasn't too thick to apply and absorbed quickly so I could jump into bed or get dressed quite soon after applying it.

I probably won't buy this one again, solely because of the scent. If you are a fan of this type of scent then I would recommend.

The Essano Rosehip Body Lotion comes in a brown plastic pump action dispenser which will come in very useful for other purposes after the lotion has been used. Unless of course Essano release a ‘refill in a bag’ product too, which would be great for the planet and for the pennies.

There is no doubt that it is very reasonably priced at $11.99 from Countdown Supermarkets during their beauty sale month. Even with the other 25% added back on it is very good value for money for the 400ml bottle.

It has an absolute lack of expensive unnecessary packaging. I would think that Essano designed their bottles to be as they are so we can be reminded of the Essano brand after the product runs out, should we be reusing the bottle for something else. Therefore we may be prompted by that to go and purchase again.

On application it has somewhat of a smooth keratin type of consistency gliding onto the skin and applying very well but after the first application I found I needed more for the skin on the exposed areas, for example my hands required as much as three coats.

It left an uncomfortable ‘tackiness’ factor but that wore off after about five minutes but I’m left with the feeling I still need more. The smell wasn’t so great on application but that also dissipated after five minutes or so. It was a little pungent, put it that way, although not at all offensive after a while.

I’m not sure if I would buy this product again at this stage. Maybe once I’ve used it for a little longer I will add an update.

Generally though it’s good value for money, isn’t too heavily fragranced and I have no doubt it’s a good moisturiser that fulfils the product claims.

I will be trying other natural organic brands in search of the perfect ‘go-to’ body lotion. With all the competition on the 'organic rosehip market' at the moment I think I’ll eventually find one that I’m completely happy with but it is good to bear in mind that these reviews are subjective. If you are at all curious I would say try it. It is well placed price wise and will last at least 8 weeks I would think, if not a little longer, so you won't be spending money on a product that doesn't live up to promises that Essano make. It definitely works well as a body moisturiser.

I bought the small sample pack from priceline and i loved the smell and how it's moisturise my skin makes it feel soft . The texture is not too runny or too thick and absorbs smoothly and quickly into my skin. i will definitely buy the big size

I have been using this for a little over a month and I'm not that enthused about it. The use of all the oils and being a NZ made product attracted me and I was so excited about using this product. I felt this product wasn't as moisturising on me as I had hoped. I found it quite drying. I've now started to mix this with a couple drops of Argan Oil to really get that moisturised feeling. The scent is heavenly! Since this is a NZ made product, I will continue buying this however, I'll continue to mix this with my essential oils.

I have used other Essano products before and really liked them, but this one just didn't quite tick all the boxes for me.

The scent is amazing and the formula has a great consistency. It was easily absorbed and not too greasy.

I wanted to like it a lot more than I did (especially because it smelt so good!), but it just didn't seem to moisturise quite as well as I needed it to. As a disclaimer, I have very dry problematic skin and I think I am just suited to a much heavier product. It did not irritate my sensitive skin though.

I think this would be a lot better suited as a general moisturiser to someone with skin a lot less demanding than mine.

I purchased this as part of the Essano Rosehip Kit after hearing so many ladies rave about the range on here and reading about the benefits of rosehip oil.

I'm a sucker for pretty packaging and the brown plastic colour scheme with rose coloured label displays beautifully. The lotion is easily dispensed with a pump while the plastic cap is secure enough that you can pop it in your bag for on the go hydration.

I love the scent of this body lotion, a soft rose fragrance I want to roll up in. I would happily walk around smelling like this, it's so beautiful and feminine.

I don't normally moisturise my body every day but with the cooler months I've found that my skin is needing that extra bit of help, especially my legs! The consistency was very standard for a body lotion and I applied it after showering and found it absorbed into the skin really easily without leaving a greasy film.

I had high expectations for this after trying the Essano Rosehip Night Cream which I really liked, especially as this made the large claims of being an intensively hydrating power lotion. Unfortunately I found that this really didn't deliver for me, while my skin did feel slightly moisturised it really wasn't as hydrating.

I'm sure this would be great for others but I won't be repurchasing as I prefer something in winter that really does deliver more hydration to my body.
