I've heard the hype, and finally got round (well emptied my current foundation) to try this foundation. I highly recommend getting a test pot from a beauty counter, as I needed to blend two colours to get the right shade.
This foundation is silky smooth with a liquid almost water like touch. It's super easy to blend and apply and has fantastic coverage. Aside from under eye make-up, I use the foundation as concealer! I dot it on any blemishes or marks after I apply to my face (I'm over 30 and still get pimples, argh!) and a light dusting of powder to set it. I have oily skin, so powder is a must in my make-up ritual, but on days around the house, I can forgo it and still get great wear all day long.
My favourite part is how light weight the product the is, it feels like I'm wearing nothing at all. And for days I want just a light touch of coverage, I mix it with my moisturiser and get a dewy application. I love how versatile it is and yet it still gives a flawless application and blends easily. It also doesn't settle in any of my fine lines - I have some fine lines on my forehead and between my eyes, and this product doesn't accentuate these pesky lines.
I also think the price is great value. Compared to my other high end foundation, this product is cheaper, last longer, is lighter to touch and easier to apply. Definitely my go to foundation!
I wanted to get a foundation that had great coverage and lasted longer than the trip to work. I was also given a bit of birthday cash so went into Farmers not caring of the cost, just wanting a decent foundation. The Farmers beauty consultant recommended the Estee Lauder Doublewear. She colour matched me and I bought it and went home to try.
The first thing I noticed was the great coverage. It really did make my skin look smooth. However I realised due to my makeup style that its more of an evening makeup for me. Which is fine. I guess I can handle my makeup melting off my face at work but feeling great about my makeup when I am out in the evenings/weekends.
But... after applying the foundation, my skin felt very tight. Like I was doing a facemask that pulls on your skin when drying. Its a rather weird sensation so I ended up washing it off. As I have young kids and minimal social life at the moment, I havent had the opportunity to take it for a test drive in the evenings yet. I am hoping that when I next apply it, that I forget/or get used to that feeling of my skin shrinking..... I'll have to as i have invested now!
