In today's busy world, if we can cut out a step and save time, we generally will. This seems especially true with our beauty routines.
Yesterday we spoke about the importance primer plays in creating a perfect base for your makeup. So lets talk about nails today.
If you're like this Beauty Crew member painting your nails goes like this - 1. Remove traces of previous nail polish. 2. Apply polish. 3 Blow on to nails whilst flapping hands around. 4. Assess. Repeat steps 2 and 3 if necessary.
Oh and don't forget step number 5. Moan and shake head when the first chip appears within the first 12 hours.
Ok a base coat essentially does for your nail polish what a primer does for your makeup. So let's focus on the top coat - why should we make the effort and use one?
A good top coat will protect your nail polish from chipping - meaning your nails will look fabulous for longer. They can also add shine and strength to your nails and some even speed up the overall drying process! So it really is worth a few extra seconds!
We're going to be putting Sally Hansen's Diamond Flash Fast Dry Top Coat to the test. It promises strength and shine in just 60 seconds!
So why not tell us your nail painting routine - do you regularly use a top coat or do you just paint and go?
I think it's vital. I use the same for bottom & top coat which is currently Maybelline's Express Finish. It's pretty good as a base coat but I don't think it's great for a top coat as I still get chipping on the same day as painting. Wouls love to try this one out!
