Is This The BEST Brow Trend Ever?

Brow trends and I have never been besties. I didn't prescribe to the over-plucked brows of the 90s. Heavily made up Instagram brows of the mid 2010s seemed like too much work. And apart from trying "feather brows" for funsies, the rest of the brow trends passed me by without me raising an eyebrow, let alone drawing one in, or getting on my grooming over and above brushing my brows with a tinted gel. Until now.

So what's changed my mind? What brow trend has me going "yes, this is the trend I've been waiting for. The trend that was made for me"? Introducing barely-done brows.

So what are barely-done brows? The clue is in the name. Brows that are super low maintenance. They're also my brows. I have been doing the barely-done brow trend my entire life. Which, on the whole, has entailed reaching for tweezers, plucking two above and three below on one side. Then plucking three above and one below on the other side. Saying to myself, "yeah, that's better". Then going on with life.

And you know what? I think that's all we need to do. Yes, we could spend hours tweezing away to create perfect brows, coaxing our distant cousins into identical twins, but who has the time? And all that effort could be put into something else... like watching my new favourite TV Show, The Bear.

Speaking of The Bear. That's where you'll find perhaps the most beautiful example of barely-done brows:

Image: The Bear

Claire, played by Molly Gordon, sports brows that look like, well, mine. They're not perfect. They've not seen a beauty therapist's bed, or tweezers, or waxing implements, or thread. They're the brows of a busy woman who's doing what she has to do to get by and no more. And they look fab.

Does that mean you can skip all the brow products? If you want to, sure. Although I still prefer my tinted brow gel for when I'm heading out or heading into work - mainly because it takes a gentle breeze or a quick, thoughtless swipe of hand to give me brows that Oscar The Grouch would be proud to call his. There is a difference between barely-done and completely undone, after all.

So my browed-up beauties... are you a fan of the barely-done brow trend? Is it one you've rocked before it was a "thing"? Or do you prefer to keep your face framers in perfect condition? Chat below!

I do love a natural brow look. I now have to add colour to mine because they seem to be fading!

I prefer mine plucked neatly lol but I definitely have overplucked in the 90s but luckily they grew back to an acceptable brow now

I'm a fan of brows that look the best they can on me and the non-groomed would not be in shape that flatters my face.

I like a natural but rather clean sort of plucked brow a tint is ideal for me with pale brow hairs that go grey

I love the idea of my old pre-plucked brows so I'm definitely onboard. It won't happen for me though.

Yep, 'barely done' is definitely me. I've always been happy with the shape of my brows, although I've kept the centre well tweezed. Never had the guts to rock the fabulous Frida Kahlo look :). Now that I'm getting older though, I do love my L'Oreal Plump & Set Brow Artist. A few light swipes and my thinning, fading brows get their MOJO back.

It's natural brows here too! I've never bought into the over plucked versions. I just pluck a couple of random ones around each brown and I'm good to go. Occasionally I'll get them tinted when I'm getting my eyelashes tinted but not very often.

Plucked them so I have minimal now. I have to draw them on daily as they are very light & non existent

I am from an era where we plucked heavily - and we are all now paying the price !

Ha ha, our brows are finally on trend! Like Head Pixie, I have never bought into any eyebrow trend. From Brooke Shields full and fluffy in the 80's to the reversed Nike swoosh that was the latest one I noticed (was that influenced by the Kardashians?). I just keep mine trim by plucking out the odd one here and there.

I like a natural looking brow but not too heavy.

I agree! I think if the first thing you notice about someone is their brows, they're probably over-doing it!

So true, but I have expected the one-liner Wallis Simpson brows to make a resurgence at some point!
