If you read this poll question and thought, "Oil?  What kind of an answer is that?!" then keep reading - we're about to rock your world!

Forget your foaming cleansers.  Forget your cream cleansers.  Forget your cleansing brushes.  And do it like the Egyptians did it!  Oh yes, Queen of everything beauty Cleopatra used to cleanse her face with oils and not just because there was no other choice!  Oils are in fact very efficient and very gentle on the skin.

Cleansing can strip your skin of it's natural oils, which makes your skin over compensate - it produces more oil than usual.  And so begins a vicious cycle, of over cleansing and stripping oils, only to wind up more oily a few days later!

Oil cleansers work on the premise that like dissolves like, so when you use a cleansing oil, the oils in the product dissolve and remove all the built up dirty oil and replace it with fresh, nourishing oil.

Once you've applied your cleansing oil to your dry face, massage in, focusing on areas which are blemish prone or have a build up of makeup.  Then run a wash cloth under hot water - drape over your face and allow to cool.  Repeat up to three times.  You'll feel the oil drawing the impurities and grime out of your skin, a truly deep clean!

We're putting Tailor Oil Cleanse to the test. Based on the traditional oil cleansing method, Tailor Oil Cleanse gently removes makeup while softening oily buildup and drawing it out of the pores while nourishing and balancing the skin.

Coconut oil and kanuka essential oil are utilized for their drawing and antibacterial properties, while hazelnut and Sunflower Seed oil nourish and revitalise.  And it's cruelty free!

We think it sounds lovely, but of course - you're our experts!  So if you'd like to join this trial team, why not tell us why by commenting below.  Have you used an oil cleanser before, or maybe even the 'traditional' oil cleansing method?  Do you prefer it to more common cleansers like foaming, cream or gel?

Get chatting below, we might pick you to join this trial team!

I have been meaning to try an oil cleanser but haven't done so yet, I looked at this online it does sound awesome .

I've never used an oil, as I have oily skin, however I have read that it is great for oily skin and to remove makeup, I use the estee lauder double wear, which is notoriously hard to remove, I would love to give this a go and see if it does the job of my usual cleanser!

Wow I would never have thought to use an oil to cleanse my face! Sounds amazing though, and makes sense too

I've never heard of cleansing oil before.. Would love to try this! It sounds like a great product, especially great for cold weather, when my skin dries out a lot.

I can understand why an oil cleanser is good for dissolving makeup and grime but have never seen or used an oil one before - I would really like to try it.

I like using a cream cleanser the most. Have used a foaming cleanser but didn't think it was that great for me.

I've used foaming, gel and cream cleansers, which you can feel, after using them, that your skin is dry and all the oil has been removed. This would be very interesting to use for me, as I am prone to slightly more than the occasional breakout, so it would be very interesting if using an oil cleanser would increase my breakouts or decrease them, by the nourishing oils being put back into my skin

Sounds like I have been missing out! I have been using a variety of foaming cleansers or cleansing wipes, but I have never tried an oil cleanser! Would love to give this a go!

I never knew you could cleanse your face with oil! I know some oils are a good moisturiser and make up remover, but never thought of it as a cleanser, I don't know why, as it makes so much sense! I usually use a gentle cream cleanser, but this natural oil cleanser sounds amazing! And because it's natural oils it just be good for the skin :)

Sounds awesome, i was sold on the ingredients - coconut oil. Iv never tried anything other than foamy/cream cleansers, an oil one would be great for my dry skin i think. Would love to try this one!

I use an oil based sort to remove my eye makeup and then follow up with my regular cleanser. I like to double cleanse my face when I have makeup or thick sunscreen on, it makes my skin so clean and fresh afterwards. I really like Tailor products so I'd love to be on the team for this oil cleanser.

22nd August, 2014

Sounds interesting. I have never used oil to cleanse with before but it sounds like it would work really well while not over drying my skin. Love coconut oil as a moisturiser so would love to try it in a cleaning product.

I personally use the Emma Hardie cleansing balm that turns into a oil which is great for an in depth clean. I also use the Body Shop Cleansing Oil on a daily basis. It is the best thing for getting rid of makeup! But sometimes I feel like it leaves a bit of a residue that I don't like.

22nd August, 2014

I've never tried an oil cleanser before but after reading about how they work on Beauty Review before I have been thinking about trying one, and keeping an eye out for one that sounds good. It really sounds like it would be great, especially for my difficult skin that I have so much trouble keeping in good condition!

I'm dieing to try an oil cleanser!! I have heard such great things about them but haven't tried one yet.
