You know when two of your favourite things collide and create something even more amazing than either thing by itself? Nope, we're not talking about the Hundreds and Thousands and Whittikers mash up, we're talking designer shoes and we're talking nail polish. More specifically we're talking Christian Louboutin and nail polish.
The famous shoe designer is releasing a collection of 31 nail polishes, boasting ultra shiny and bold colours. And as if designer colours weren't enough, wait until you hear about the bottles! Multi faceted glass bottles inspired by balustrade architecture topped by quite possibly the most fabulous nail polish cap ever - alluding to the fabulous stiletto heels. The brush is triangular and promises flawless coverage.
The shade of the Christian Louboutin Beaute collection has to be Rouge Louboutin, inspired by the flash of scarlet colour on all Louboutin shoes. The story of the famous red Louboutin sole is legendary in the fashion history books - Christian Louboutin was inspired to paint the bottom of his shoes red when he saw his assistant painting her nails red. Something so simple inspiring a fashion statement that is lusted after.
“The red sole was born from red nail polish. With Christian Louboutin Nail Color, I’m giving back to the beauty of nails a product that largely influenced my work many years ago,” said Louboutin. (Forbes.com)
Rouge Louboutin is not only the exact shade of Louboutin red, it also comes in it's own special edition bottle - ombre glass with an 8 inch cap, in honour of the infamous Ballerina Ultima fetish heels. Check out the David Lynch directed video on our YouTube channel to see both Ballerina Ultima and Rouge Louboutin in all their glory.
The nail polishes are going to be priced at around $70, extravagent yes, but considerably cheaper than a pair of Louboutin heels! The collection will be released in stages - Rouge Louboutin made it's debut last week and will be followed by the remaining 30 shades later this month. And with a manicure kit being released in September, a girl can dream that Louboutin nails are going to become a regular thing - and hopefully make their way to the land down under.
What do you think of the Christian Louboutin Beaute Nail Colour collection? Are you as enamoured as we are? Or do you think shoe designers should stick to creating footwear?

$70? Ouch! I hate spending even $20 on a bottle of polish! But the bottle is so cute and one would just not be enough!
