David Jones !!!
Yep the Australian company has bought a Wellington institution. Things still need to be approved and legal etc.
The actual close will in early 2016 so there should be a huge sale I hope but it means that we will have a David Jones store.

Maybe they will bring Australian pricing with them too.

That is interesting! They have a lot of other brands as well so hopefully that means we will have more available to us. Wonder if they will move into other centres from there.

I'm so glad Arthur Barnett down here in Dunedin was bought by H&J's from Invercargill though. Happy that a NZ company is growing.

Love, love, love David Jones. They just always have the best of everything, great sales, I got super excited when I heard this on the news tonight. Sad for NZ business' though.

I'm super excited because if they're going to stock all of their normal brands then we will have access to Laura Mercier, weeeeee. Plus I'm sure there will be other brands we don't have at the mo.

Yes I heard about his today too! I'm interested to see what stores/ brands they will be selling. Sad to say goodbye to kirkcadlies though as they have been arounds for years! I always love their window displays, especially at Christmas.

I am so torn on this! I love David Jones and visited when I was in Melbourne recently, but I ADORE Kirks! They are such a classic icon of Wellington, and have the most wonderful sense of character. Will miss them terribly!
