It's summer, there are Christmas parties and then of course New Year's eve parties providing the most PERFECT opportunities to wear those strappy, glittery, sparkly, sexy, gorgeous.....ok ok enough adjectives, it's the perfect opportunity to wear those strappy high heels. If your feet are anything like ours then they probably start sweating and panicking at the thought of long hours of partying in pain! However, a creative plastic surgeon has come up with an answer, albeit a temporary solution - foot numbing spray.

Heel No Pain is a spray which you apply to your feet just before you head out the door to provide you with pain free high heel wearing for up to 3 hours. Containing lidocaine HCI (commonly dispensed by dentists and doctors) this product numbs the nerves that send the pain signals to your brain. While using this product doesn't lessen the other side effects of constant high heel use, such as corns, bunions, and back pain it does, however, allow you to get through the New Years parties without hobbling around in pain.

So tempted? Or are you still going to stick to those flats?

This is extremely interesting to me because I truly don't understand how on earth it would work. however, I do hate wearing heels because of the pain so I'd be interested to see how it goes!

I think it's a great idea for every now and then. It may not be too safe but oh well!

Not sure about this. I guess if your body is telling you its getting painful then its best not to wear those killer shoes and where something appropriate that you can handle. there are still amazing shoes that are not flats and are a good height that can make you look fabulous without going through the whole pain experience. its just knowing your body and what it can balance.

Oh I see pain as a warning mechanism... I would rather know before the damage is really bad, otherwise it could be a long long recovery. This would however be great once you have had damage after a night out :)

Mm not sure, for similar reasons below, I usually start in heels but take flats for if my feet get too sore, especially when there is dancing involved. However numbing the pain might hide symptoms of something more serious which could cause injury. So no probably wouldn't use this.

I'm not really a heel wearer anyway; I do wear them sometimes on special occasions but as a choice thing I would much rather wear my comfortable flats. I am quite intrigued by this and would be interested to see whether it does actually work though.

How crazy is that? Why would you want to numb your feet when they carry all your weight and take you around. How dangerous is it to be walking around in feet that can't feel anything.

I think with heels especially you need a sense of balance and if you can't feel your feet in heels you might not be able to walk properly in them. I mean if I was wearing heels I'd like to feel where I was stepping so if I likely to trip and fall my subconscious instincts to steady myself aren't delayed. I think tripping and falling at a party is worse than not wearing heels.

Must say the concept is great though. To have painless feet in high heels would be absolute bliss. But definitely dangerous.
