I have been trialling the Olay Niacinamide with vitamin C moisturiser for 4 weeks now in conjunction with the Olay Eyes Niacinamide & vitamin C every day. The moisturiser Consistently is it thick, a non thick consistency but not watery.
I found that it applies really well and was easy to smooth out over my forehead, nose, cheeks and neck and did not leave any sticky residue after application, just had to give it a minute to settle. There is no applicator and you apply with fingertips. I had to call in the husbands help on a few occasions as I could not remove the inside lid, it has a tiny handle bit. I got fed up and through it out. A bit on 2 fingers with dabs over the face spreads widely. I had to dip in for my neck area but even free a month it still more than half the product left.
The moisturiser is slightly fragrant but not so to overwhelm once sense and does disappear with application.
I used the moisturiser only in the mornings and it does last quite long. However I would recommend using a SPF as I could not see any on the product or the accompanying packaging.
The packaging is cardboard - very tastefully done in turquoise and silver and the actual container looks pretty. I was pretty impressed with no Parabens, no sulphites which my skin hates, and formulated without a list of nasty chemicals.
It did make my skin look and feel brighter and more hydrated, especially at the time of the year where we in Autumn and my skin is prone to dryness. I had no adverse reaction to changing brands - normally when I do I have a few day of redness and slightly irritated skin. At a around $38 - I think personally it is worth it
I don’t often claim my age spots reduce with moisturisers but I do think they have a bit with this Olay Niacinamide & Vitamin C beauty. I normally use the Olay Microsculpting Night cream so this was a nice fresh change. If you can get past the fairly strong citrus fragrance this cream is great for both morning and night. I like the gel-like texture which absorbs really quickly however it was a bit of a faff in the morning having to add a separate layer of SPF, I’m a bit oily so this was an extra layer under makeup as well. I’m definitely going to seek out more Vitamin C products after this trial as I like the results.
Tips: You’d probably want to use up the jar sooner rather than later as I am aware Vitamin C degrades quickly and this jar is fairly open to the air.
