L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Fibralogy Shampoo Review

What I want most from a shampoo is simply to clean my hair, remove the oiliness from my roots with an easy application. This shampoo does just that...which is great! But it does promise a lot more than that. This shampoo boasts about a breakthrough in hair science to literally thicken your strands from the inside. I was excited to try this as I have super, super, ridiculously thin hair. Whilst it does its basic job of cleaning my hair, I felt it did not live up to the hype of thickening my hair. I tried very hard to feel and see the difference and I think there may be an ever so slightly difference in my hair in that it is not as flat as it usually is. However I can't help but wonder if I see that only because I am forcing myself to look really hard! Overall though, it is a nice, simple shampoo that has awesome packaging making it easy to use and I would probably buy it again if it were on sale at the supermarket. But I am not wowed by its NEW technology of hair thickening, it is just a nice, good shampoo.

I didn't actually expect it to strengthen my hair, but actually it has made a difference! My hair used to be very thin and brittle from lots of bleaching, but now even though the ends are quite light, each strand feels strong and heavy and healthy! In terms of cleaning, it doesn't leave my hair feeling completely squeaky clean. I always wash my hair every 2 days, but this is one of the few products where I absolutely feel the NEED to wash my hair every 2 days. The smell is generic and pleasant, and the gel-ish liquid is quite runny, and clear. Overall, considering the price, I would definitely repurchase.

I love the packaging of the shampoo and the flip top cap is really sturdy and doesn't feel prone to breaking like some other ones do. The shampoo formula was fairly thick and smelt fresh and a little sweet though it wasn't too strong and overpowering.

When applied to my hair and scalp it didn't lather overly well but it did feel nice in my hair. After washing it out, my hair didn't feel too stripped and dry (like it can do with some other brands).

I used this shampoo every second day in the shower. When used in conjunction with the ELVIVE fibralogy thickening conditioner, I found that I had slightly more voluminous hair though out the day without having to sacrifice softness. I do however question whether it made a difference to the thickness of my hair as I haven't noticed a change as of yet but I will monitor this with continued use of the product.

Overall I would say that I am satisfied but not blown away by this product. I think I still prefer my Tresemme volumising shampoo and conditioner, although they are slightly more expensive!

My hair is super fine with basically no volume. I struggle to give my hair that extra 'lift' that every girl wants! It is considered mid length to long and very straight. This shampoo claimed to make my hair thicker after each wash. Because of my hair type I have to wash my hair everyday otherwise it goes super greasy. That is why I used this shampoo everyday since I received it in the mail. It gave my hair a little lift straight after I styled it but as the day went on my hair went back to its usual flat ways. It did clean my hair and did not leave any residues. It has a pleasant (not overpowering) raspberry-ish scent. It made my hair a little hard to manage. For me it only semi-did what it claimed to do so it is not something I would keep using or repurchase at this stage. Half way there product for me :)

Shampoo that actually makes my hair thicker? I've heard that all before, tried them all before. I wasn't convinced. But from the moment I first put this in my hair my scepticism faded. This shampoo felt different than any shampoo I had heard before. I've been trying to define how but cannot come up with anything other than it feels like you are massaging a sponge. And the result - my hair was visibly fuller, all day. Fibralogy Shampoo is an excellent product and I will be seeking it out as my shampoo of choice.

My intent in trying out these products was to see if I could make my easily tangled hair more manageable. I think it has achieved that - my hair looks and feels great. Whether it is thicker or not I can't quite tell but it doesn't tangle as easily as it used to, so that is some evidence in its favour. It's generally a lovely shampoo to use as well - smells great and makes your hair feel good as and after you wash it. I think it has made a positive difference for me. But whether that's a thickening difference or not is hard to say. When I look at individual strands of hair, they look good in terms of structure, elasticity, etc. They may have always done, though? Potentially I need to look into before and after photography next time because the change could have been too gradual for me to notice.

I have been using this product in conjunction with the conditioner and serum and I have definitely noticed a change in the thickness of my hair. I have very fine, thin, oily, completely straight hair which is difficult to style and add any body to but even my hairdresser friend noticed the added thickness in my hair. I have tried many shampoos that are meant to add body and this is the worst one that I have actually noticed a difference with.

The shampoo smelled lovely and the first time I used it I squeezed out way too much so it lathers really well to get a good wash.

I would love to see this product come in a larger size with a pump but at $8.99 it is a good buy for the quality of the product.

I was excited to trial the Fibralogy products as my hair is really fine and splits and breaks easily so I'm always looking for something great to strengthen and thicken it up. The first thing I noticed about the shampoo was the packaging. I love the teal and fuchsia colour combo, it's quite stunning and reminds me of a peacock as random as that may be! On using the shampoo for the first time I found the scent to be pleasant and like berries and flowers so I enjoyed that. The effectiveness of the shampoo is what makes me give it low scores. While it does give a thorough clean and make my hair quite soft, it definitely didn't make it any stronger or thicker and actually made it look thinner and more flat than what I was using before I started trialing Fibralogy so I was disappointed with the effectiveness. So, basically, if you're looking for something cheap and easy to pick up at the supermarket for a fresh clean and a lovely scent then it may be worth getting, but if you're looking for stronger, fuller hair then I wouldn't recommend it.

The Shampoo was really nice to use, smelt really nice and my hair felt great during the day. I did notice my hair was thicker the day that I washed it, but I found that my hair seemed to need washing the next day. It seamed to become more greasy. If I was to use a mousse with this Shampoo and Conditioner I would want to wash it that evening. As a daily shampoo it was lovely to use, but I don't like to wash my hair everyday.

So I love L'oreal products and I really wanted to write this review once I had a chance to use it a few times since I don't wash my hair everyday. I have really long thin hair and unfortunately, I can't say that it made my hair appear thicker in any way. I've struggled for years to find shampoos that promise thicker and more voluminous hair but to date, I haven't been able to find one that does what it says.

I really like the smell of it and the texture. It did seem to initially make my hair feel softer and lighter, but I still had to use styling mousse in my hair to get it to the thickness I want. I feel like perhaps this product might work better on someone who's hair is not as thin as mine. And perhaps with consistent use it might make more of a difference. But trialing the product now for about a week and a half, I haven't seen any real difference in my hair.
