Good product but not great

I hate to say I don't absolutely love this product as I know it is adored by many! I do like it but I have other eye primers that do help my eyeshadows stay longer. I do have quite oily eyelids so find that my eyeshadows do still crease (only a little) with this product. It is a great colour and I really like the consistency, but I reach for my others more (one being the essence I heart stage primer which is soooo affordable!)

Primer Potion

I got the sample of all four of these primers with the Naked 2 palette. It does help eyeshadow stay on for a REALLY long time, and I noticed a lot less creasing while wearing this, but I found it next to impossible to blend out on my eyes. It got patchy and moved around so much on my lids at first, even when I don't have oily lids at all, but then it dries so fast that if I got any near my inner corner it just clumped up and looked horrible and I couldn't remove it without taking off all my eye makeup. It did do what it says it should but there were also a lot of negatives and I think there are better eye primers out there, so it was a bit disappointing.

Doesn't make a difference when wearing it

I love Urban Decay eyeshadows and use a primer when I have a long work day with an event at night. I don't notice a difference when I use the primer. I have oily eyelids, and find the product creases.

Tips: Skip it, and use foundation as a base

Original Primer Potion

I'm one of those people that has somewhat oily eyelids. Before I found this primer my eye shadows (cream or powder) would crease like crazy in under an hour from applying it.

I find that it absorbs quickly into my eyelids and that a little goes a long way.

I'm not sure it is worth the price. I have a Milani primer I need to compare it with, which was quarter of the price.

Tips: I use primer potion, then cover my eye lids with Nyx jumbo pencil in milk and blend that in before applying eye shadows. This makes the colours vibrant and I feel like it gives them something more to stick to.

Impressive

This is the first eyelid primer I have ever used and I have been very impressed. As a primer for eyeshadows I find it really does make them look better and last longer. The colors are intensified and smooth over the lid, and can last all day or a whole night dancing. I have also recently discovered a new way of using it that has blown my mind, I have oily eyelids and I have forever had a problem with my mascara transferring for the tips of my lashes to below my brows, I thought I just couldn't do anything about it and would always be wiping at my eyes just in case. Last week I thought I would try putting some of the primer potion over my lids without shadow to keep them matte and it totally worked! I've done it everyday since and had no mascara transferring at all so I am very impressed.

Urban decay Original & Sin primer potion

I had been wanting to buy the Urban decay primer potion ever since I started beauty school around 5 years ago, the hype was so big and being a student with my first baby on the way I couldn't afford it. I was lucky enough to get a sample pack of primers, Original, Eden, Sin and Anti aging when I brought the Naked 3 palette which was a lovely surprise to add when I was overseas.

Original primer potion: A small amount of product goes a long way, the texture feels like drying glue, you rub it onto your eyelids before adding your eye shadow. The first few times i took my time and the product dries up fast which makes it hard to blend into your skin. So apply it fast to prevent it from drying, once its dried its invisible, it feels like a light layer added to your skin. It really does make your eye shadow stand out more, it gives your eye shadow a crisp colour to it. Blending out eye shadow is a bit of a task, the eye shadow gets stuck onto the eye lid and it can be hard to work with, this is the problem I didn't like with the primer potion.

Sin primer potion: This primer has a shimmer to it, the first time I applied this one I used too much and it went all over my eyelid and down the sides of my cheeks, now I thought I could add foundation to the top and that just made it worse so I had to wipe off all the Primer and start again. You need the smallest amount when using this one, it has the prettiest shimmer which i had tried using as a highlight but never worked for me. Blending it out was a little easier than the original primer potion but still an effort as to not having a primer underneath.

Both primers work really well, my eye shadow didn't crease and it looked fantastic all day, removing the eye shadow requires a bit more time similar to removing waterproof mascara. I have only recently used up my Original and Sin primer potion samples and have Eden and Anti aging left to use but after using the first 2 im in no hurry to test these ones.

For me I wouldn't consider buying these, for the price Im sure I could find a cheaper alternative and I dislike how it makes it hard for me to blend out my eye shadow. This product wasn't for me and all this lusting over for many years has left me broken hearted.

Tips: Applying some primer potion to under your eye area prevents your eye makeup from running when apply eye shadow or eyeliner to your bottom lash line, just be careful not to get any in your eye!

Silky and Smooth

Have never worn a better primer. I have had this bottle nearly a year now, wearing it almost every Saturday or Friday night. And I still have half a tube left! Makes my skin feel amazing and makes my foundation last so much longer.

Tips: Don't use too much, a little goes a long way!

Best Eyeshadow Primer!

I've always had quite oily eyelids and could never find any type of eyeshadow that would last the day. I was then given a sample of this wonderful product....

I had the shade Eden, which is a nice creamy pale beige. This product makes made my eyeshadow look freshly applied all day. I just apply it with my finger to my eyelid and it sets quickly so there is no waiting around to put your eyeshadow on. I feel like the eyeshadow colours really pop with this as the base.

Tips: You only need to use the smallest amount.

It's ok - I have had better

I have oily lids. Before primer I never wore eyeshadow as by midday any trace of effort would have disappeared. This is the first eye primer I have ever tried and boy was I happy. Not only did it make the eyeshadow colour appear better, everything stayed put! It goes on like a sticky concealer and dries to clear. Eyeshadow and liner stays put all day long, expect some colour fading it's not bullet proof. Why I say it's ok... I found a cheaper alternative which performs just as well but maybe the packaging is not as pretty. Etude House Proof 10 eye primer, you can get it off eBay for about $10nzd.

Tips: For oily lids eye primer is your BFF. I never go without now!

A bit messy to apply but very effective!

I've tried a few primers now, but the Original Primer Potion one is definitely high up on the list of primers I'd recommend. The formula is quite thick and sticky (and a bit tricky to apply if you're not prepared with a brush!) but, once it has dried, it keeps your eyeshadow firmly in place for hours. Used in conduction with Urban Decay eyeshadow and you'll have perfect eye makeup all day long!

Tips: Don't use too much of this product otherwise it'd settle into your creases and be really thick when it dries. Use is sparingly though and you'll be happy with the results.
