Didn't live up to the hype

This product for me wasn't quite what I expected. The way people rave on about it I thought it was literally a mirical water alas it wasn't quite that good.

I like the clear packaging as it shows you just how much product is left. The labelling was simple and straight to the point.

When asked to trial this I was excited as I hadn't quite got around to trailing it before this opportunity.

It was a simple clear liquid with a super mild scent. Not unpleasant but was detectable. It did an okay job at removing makeup but I did find it struggled with eye makeup. I ended up using it to soak my brushes and found it did a fantastic job at washing them as opposed to removing makeup off my face. I much prefer to use an oil cleanse.

I probably wouldn't purchase this product with my own money but it was nice being able to trial this much hyped up product. I was disappointed it didn't quite do what I was hoping but at least I can put it to use for something right?

Micellar Water - gentle & easy makeup remover

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I've watched a couple of Youtubers & thought I'd give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy makeup came off leaving my skin feel soft & clean. Not a heavy makeup wearer I found this micellar water a nice gentle remover that I didn't find had an irritating smell (some makeup removers I feel do).

Tips: If you do have a full glam face of makeup I suggest letting the makeup wipe which has the micellar water on it to gently soak in the skin before wiping

Not worth the hype

I bought this bad boy after i had heard so much about it on a make up page I was on in Facebook. It had been hyped a ridiculous amount, to the point it was selling out as soon as it hit the shelves when it first became available in NZ. When i finally got my hands on it, i thought it was very good for taking off make up - my double wear - which usually takes a life time to get off so i was happy. however after using the product for a while i noticed it was causing me to break out and for that reason i give it the scores i do. it did what it said, but overall i would'nt recommend a product that induces acne. However, i found that it did serve as a great spot cleaner for my brushes!

Tips: Great for getting makeup out of clothes, to clean make up of vanity and also to spot clean brushes when in a rush!!!

Sensitive eyes = no go

I bought this after hearing all the hype and at first i loved it until it got into my eyes and stung. i found the actual solution didn't remove my foundation (maybelline super stay) very well and i ended up just using a make up wipe after. i would recommend it to people who don't have such sensitive eyes and don't wear glasses. it made my eyes very foggy once i put my glasses back on.

Tips: don't soak the cotton pad too much!

A bit harsh on my skin

I used this to remove my make up and while it did an alright job, there was still a bit of residue. When I got to my waterproof mascara, it did come off eventually, but it took a while and a bit of rubbing and by the end of it all, my skin, especially my eye area, stung a bit. I will continue to use the rest of the bottle, not as a make up remover, but just as a quick cleanser on days I wear no make up and can't be bothered cleansing properly, but I won't be repurchasing.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I'll start with the positives - The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is great at removing makeup. It removes possibly 99% of all my makeup, and it doesnt sting. One not so positive, is the way it leaves my skin feeling after. It feels both oily and dry and I end up having to go and wash my face properly with a facial cleanser afterwards, which I dont have to do with my other makeup removers. It has caused small breakouts in the more sensitive areas of my face so this is quite a turn-off. Though seeing as it is really good at removing stubborn makeup, I use it only when I desperately need to.

Tips: If you have really sensitive skin, or skin that is prone to breaking out, I wouldnt reccomend, and it is probably a better eye and lip makeup remover, rather than a full face :)

Pretty good

I love that its so natural, and not drying at all, and of course that it's cruelty free! It's pretry good at removing most makeup, but not so much mascara or heavier makeup

Good, but nothing special!

I rushed out to buy this because of the hype! was made out to be amazing for removing make up and washing brushes etc but it does remove my make up very well at all. I use a micro fibre cloth and water to get my make up off then run a cotton wool with micellar water over my face just to get any excess before using face wash, the middle step is really unnecessary but I'm just trying to use it all up

I was expecting such great things..

I follow a lot of UK people on Instagram who use and swear by this micellar water! They said it was like magic in a bottle. I couldn't wait til NZ started stocking this so I bought mine from FeelUnique. I was so excited about this product and sadly ended up being so disappointed. This barely removed any make up from my face when I pre cleansed and my eye make up just didn't budge! I was told to use this after cleansing but I didn't see the point as I prefer to use a proper toner after I cleanse. I wouldn't purchase this again, however I would still recommend it to people looking for something quick and easy after a night out because it seems a LOT of people out there love this micellar water. Sadly it seems like I'm one of the only people who weren't in love with this product :(

Tips: If you have a white dressing table like me and tend to make a mess while doing your face - this stuff is great for cleaning up afterwards! :)

Ringy
1st June, 2015

I was expecting more too! I thought I read somewhere that it was meant to replace using dirty tap water to clean your face so it seems pointless using it like a toner or cleansing after using it! im glad I've tried it now I can move on!

Garnier Micellar - size does matter

So much hype surrounded this product and Im a sucker for hype - who isn't?! so once I FINALLY got my hands on it I wasn't sure what to expect.

The size of the bottle for the price is what I love - yes size matters! Always tired of running out of other liquid eye makeup removers in a couple of weeks just wasn't ideal for me.

I only use this product to remove my eye makeup and I find this removes it easily, I still get a bit of redness on my lids just like ALL other removers I've tried but doesn't seem as bad.

Ive tested it a couple of times on my face make up aswell I dont cake my makeup on either, but didnt think it removed it very well, so I'll continue using my all time favourite Tailor oil cleanse for my face makeup removal and for cleansing.

I cant help but shake the bottle prior which makes it bubble up - a habit from using those blue/clear liquid removers that require mixing. I like that the bottle is clear and simple to see how much is left, the pink top and other pink writing make it girly looking, it doesn't bother me but Im sure it doesn't appeal to everyone, especially males etc who might wear makeup. They are defiantly targeting a certain demographic with their marketing. Obviously I use too much as there is no way Id get 200 uses out of a 400ml bottle - can anyone say they have?

It feels nice and refreshing on the eye area and I was surprised how it wasn't greasy like the other removers, even thought I realise its a 'water' I still expected a little greasiness! So Micellar Waters will defiantly be my go to from now on mainly because of the size of the bottle and value for money. I will try a different brand so I can compare Micellar Waters and that this one is better than any other, so watch this space.

As Im about to travel for a month soon I predict this will be on my to-pack list - especially for late nights and jet lag when I really cant be bothered with a complicated skincare routine. Just fingers crossed it doesn't leak :/

Would be good to see it sold in travel sizes too for weekends away etc. - again size does matter!

Tips: A beauty therapist once told me with any liquid makeup removers, dampen (not soak) cotton pads first with a small amount of water so they don't just soak up the product. Fact or Fiction? I've tried it and think she was on to something, but perhaps for more oil based removers... ?
