I have been using this cleanser for a few days now and it defiantly does what it says.
Firstly, I love the blue of the bottle, a change from its pink counterpart but I liked this as it gave off a fresh feeling. The scent is amazing but not too strong, something I need as I get migraines and some scents can set these off.
I use this micellar water every day after work whether I wore makeup or not. My face can get quite oily and is very acne prone, something that the product advocates and I can say that even in this short space of testing this product, it is now going to be a holy grail for my skin. I dab some into my face halo and wipe it around my face.
This acts as a great makeup remover, removing every inch of makeup. It is also great at remove any oily residue and dirt after a long day at the office leaving my face feeling fresh. It doesn’t dry sticky on the face which is a bonus and leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh. This is a great addition to my face washing routine, and I am more than likely to repurchase once my bottle runs out, the low price point helps a lot with this decision!
I have used lots of micellar waters/cleansers. There are a lot of competing brands and formulations. Every brand has a version. Many irritate my sensitive eyes, even supposedly sensitive/hypoallergenic ones, but Garnier never does. The Garnier Pure Active Micellar Cleansing Water is lovely and soft on my eyes and the scent is clean/neutral. I use micellar mainly for removing mascara, eyeshadow, eyebrow pencil, and matte lipsticks. I feel uncomfortable putting richer cleansers near my eyes and mouth as it would taste awful and may irritate. This Garnier micellar smells neutral (fragrance free) and feels soft. The bottle says it purifies and mattifies but, aside from setting spray and lippy, I don't know how one would judge this from a cleanser. I have combination skin, with oily areas, and my skin felt comfortable post-cleansing with this. The 400ml bottle is great value at $13.99 and you can often find it much cheaper at the supermarket. I would have no issue with $13.99 though- it lasts a long time and is such a premium product. Would definitely repurchase!
Tips: Splash onto a reusable cloth makeup wipe- it will hold the water better, feel softer, and won't end up in the landfill.
