essano Clear Complexion Purifying Gel Cleanser Review

I purchased this ages ago along with the matching moisturiser. It comes in a 100 ml squeezy tube in white and pink colouring like the rest of the clear complexion range.

It is a thick, clear gel and does not lather up much at all. It has a subtle scent which smells quite herbal. I don't find it offensive at all. My skin is dry and unfortunately for me this is just far too drying on my skin even though it says it replenishes moisture and does not strip the skin.

I feel like it doesn't do a good job at removing my bb cream or foundation so you really need to go in with another cleanser or balm to start with then use this. For my skin type it is not suitable but other ladies seem to love it so if you have oily skin this is probably better suited for you.

Big fan of this! Love the smell, and makes my face feel refreshed and clean, after using. Does everything I look for in a cleanser and has simple, but pretty packaging.

Used this to wash my face after taking off my makeup and have no complaints at all about it. Would definietly recommend and think it's a really good cleanser for $15!

At first I was sceptical about changing my current face-washing routine to use this cleanser as I was very happy with my Cetaphil. However, this cleanser has wowed me beyond belief! This cleanser is described as a gentle, soap-free product that will leave your skin feeling clean, refreshed, and non-greasy. Boy, does it deliver! I have never had a cleanser that seems to do everything it says it will, and more! Not only does my skin feel thoroughly cleansed without being dried out, but it also controls oil production, and as an added bonus, is the best makeup remover I've ever used!

I had no idea it would be so effective, but after a couple of uses, I stopped bothering to use my micellar water, and now only use this cleanser to remove my makeup. With only one wash, my skin is left feeling clean, controlled, and amazingly makeup free! I can't believe this cleanser can do all of this without making my skin feel dry, I never need to use another cleanser again!

I received this product as part of the BR trial team for the new Essano Under 25s regime. I have combination skin which has specific breakout zones with persistent pimples. My hope for this regime was that it would minimise or prevent breakouts.

The matte white packaging of the products in this range is really lovely. It is a generous size cleanser and I can tell it will last me a few months.

The scent is somewhere between vanilla and rose. It is a very light scent, although I do always wonder what is the need for fragrance in cleanser...?

The gel formula means it doesn't foam or lather when used. No matter how hard I swirled it over my face and neck it refused to give me bubbles! Personally I love getting a good lather on, so this was disappointing but to be expected from a gel.

My face definitely felt clean after use. It easily removes makeup and product buildup, without leaving my skin super tight afterwards.

The real question is whether the gel cleanser specifically contributed to fighting acne breakouts. As I have been using all the Essano range together, I is hard to tell which individual products (cleanser, serum, toner, spot gel, moisturiser) had the most effect. BUT, I can confirm that pimples have been kept to a minimum over the last two weeks!

Overall, it's not my favourite cleanser. I think I will stick to a foaming creme next time.

I really like this cleanser, it's very gentle and makes your skin feel really clean. Some cleansers can almost strip your skin and make it feel tight, but this one cleanses your skin so well without drying it out.

Often after cleansing my face I will virtually be gasping for a moisturiser, but this one kept me feeling soft and nourished.

I would recommend this to anyone with acne prone and/or dry-combo skin. It works so well on my skin, and doesn't break me out! A lot of texture on my face has been reduced and I think this cleanser has definitely helped. Like most of the other products in this line, I will be repurchasing when I run out!

Wow. I had to buy this after reading all the good reviews because I have oily acne prone skin. Love the smell. I also like how you only need a tiny bit because it foams up quite well. I have noticed an improvement in my skin, it has cleared up little acne bumps that I had a around my temples and jaw so good for texture. I always like to use a makeup remover first before cleansing. This is my favourite cleanser, the best I have tried for acne prone skin an is now my go to cleanser.

I have been using this wash for about a year now, and I am currently on my second tube. It has completely changed my early-thirties skin- I feel like I am about to jinx it but, honestly, I used to have acne all the time and now I just get the occasional hormonal breakout. I does feel dry after washing but I use the accompanying moisturiser after this (seriously good). It has BioDTox (tm) which cleans pores and keeps sebum levels at a healthy level. It has rosemary leaf in it and other certified organic ingredients. It definitely smells fresh and natural- a little like tea tree oil (actually has green tea leaf extract in it). This clever cleanser has confirmed my faith in natural (this is 96.6% natural origin of total) skincare- I am a total convert.

Holy heck I actually live for this stuff! I’m so glad it has come into existence :-) packaging is cute, does the job, removes makeup, is not heavily fragranced and does not dry out skin although reigns back the oil! I have noticed a huge difference in my oil production mainly on my forehead and bridge of nose. You only need a little bit of productnand it soaks in rapidly. Definitely do not used right before makeup application but let dry for a minute or two.

From all the Essano Clear Complexion products I was perhaps least impressed by this cleanser. Now, this product was not awful as I did feel it cleansed my skin but not as well as the product I was using previously. The gel consistency of the cleanser was definitely something new to me and I can't say I was big fan. As a gel the cleanser did not tend to lather and this combined with its clear colour meant it was sometimes hard to tell where it had been applied (thus harder to wash off!) Otherwise I did find the product easy to use - only a small amount was needed to wash and cleanse the face.
