This product is very tasty and it does a pretty good at moisturising but it does seem to 'sit' on the lips rather than completely sink in. I got the caramel version first and it has the most luxurious scent and flavour - like creme caramel mixed with butter popcorn, then I found out there was a Raspberry Rose flavour but it wasn't available in NZ so I ordered it from overseas - this one smells a bit like raspberry yogurt and it has a funny blue based baby pink tint that makes me look dead, the caramel has more of a white cast and I dont really like wearing either of them during the day due to this aspect but I do use them for night time, I have actually gifted the raspberry one as the smell is a tad annoying (I hoped it would be more rose like). Anyway that aside a good product for the price and you get alot of product in the tins. I also like the fact these are low in toxic ingredients and are mostly natural with minimal preservatives/no parabens.
I bought both the vanilla and macadamia and the caramel one, and they are good lip balms for lips that aren't that dehydrated. They are quite light and don't last very long. I see a lot of people put it on before bed and their lips are lovely in the morning, but I find that if I put it on when I'm getting ready for bed, I'll do a couple more things and it's almost already gone. They taste lovely and aren't sticky which is what I like about them, and use this when my lips aren't very dry.
These are nifty little tins filled with sweet buttery lip product that is sure to leave you with super soft lips. They are all very creamy and buttery that go on fairly clear and last a long time. I love that there are 3 delicious choices and most of all a unscented available. My favourite of the lot would be the Caramel Cream one followed by the Unscented. I don't really like applying lip products with my fingers so I'm a bit on the fence with that but I think they are definitely well worth a purchase as they have quite a lot of product in them and work well.
Unscented: No scent of course. Moisturising, long lasting. Great size tin. Not sticky. But a tad slick or greasy but soaks in well.
Caramel Cream: Very sweet. My favourite of the bunch. Again, moisturising. A great night lip moisturiser. Love the tins, like how they're quite flat. Not bulky. Not sticky. Absorbs quickly.
Vanilla & Macadamia : My least favourite of the bunch even though I adore Macadamia and Vanilla. It's not bad, It has a lovely sweet nutty smell but is a tad too sickly for me. The same consistency and formula as the others.
I have tried Caramel Cream, Vanilla and Macadamia NIVEA Lip Butters, and I really like that they are a thicker creamy lip 'butter' which makes it really good for quite dry chapped even wind burnt/sun burnt lips.
I dislike the packaging and that you have to use your fingers to apply it! Really unhygienic, and your fingers get really sticky. Its stored in a tin with a click close which is so hard to open and to close it again you get the product on it so the outside of it gets sticky and grubby.
It lasts pretty good as it is a thicker consistency, but it is on the stickier side!
The fragrance is very sickly sweet and fake, rather than a subtle hint of caramel it's overpowering, so that is a shame as that makes me not want to reach for it as much.
Pretty cheap for how long it lasts for, I have had mine for over a year and easily still half full.
I have dry sensitive skin and lips that can get wind burnt and chapped in the warmer weather, so this product does live up to the claims of soft hydrated skin.
Tips: If you don't like sickly sweet overpowering scents, go for the 'frangrance free' option.
I got this as not only did it sound like a good hydrating lip product but it smells delicious if you get one of the scented ones. I have the Vanilla + Macadamia one! The formula itself is very similar to a vaseline style it is a bit thicker and super sticky, which is what I dislike about this it feels like it protects your lips but if it is a windy day watch out your hair doesnt get stuck to you lips!
Nice shiny effect and lovely smell, not so moisturising needed to be applied several times, however it has been through the washing machine and was completely fine! Love the compact little tin fits in my purse or pocket perfectly!
Tips: Several applications required throughout the day
It comes in a very generous size and has a lot of flavours. I personally feel that the pot makes it quite unhygenic. I also don't feel that it does a very good job at moisturising. It lasts, but doesn't seem to be absorbed well. Rather, it leaves a thick residue in your lips and you have to constantly really. I would use this as a protector against wind, but wouldn't use it for its moisturisation.
I have the vanilla & macadamia one and the caramel one. Smells so nice!! I love this but i think it's too sticky and the packaging isn't really convenient for me either. I had kept it in my pocket and had accidentally bumped into a table. When I pulled it out, there was a dent in the back and the product inside smashed into the lid. Not a nice sight to see. Plus i had tried to keep it in my bag but the tin gets really dirty really easy. Apart from the packaging, it's very moisturizing especially over Benefit's Posietint where it locked in the colour.
Sadly I didn't like this as much as other Nivea lip products. I had the Vanilla and Macadamia 'scent' and found it quite sticky, it had a very strong sweet smell and I found it overwhelming. I prefer my lip products to be twist up if I am taking them with me somewhere as I don't like putting my fingers into the pot when out and about. You never know what kind of germs you might have picked up or are even left behind after sanitizer! They were a lovely and exciting new product to try but I think I will stick to my Hydro Care twist stick.
Tips: Apply a tiny amount with clean finger. Better for use at home before bed.
