Cooling mask

I hadn't heard of this product when I got the chance to try it.. neither had I heard of hyaluronic acid. It was quite a novelty having to squeeze the liquid into the mask, I have never tried a face mask like this before. The mask itself was a good size although the eye holes could have been slightly bigger. My eyes are quite small and the holes barely left enough room for them. Also it kept slipping over my eyes and fortunately, even though product got into my eyes, it didnt sting or cause irritation. The mask itself was cooling and refreshing. My skin is quite dry and sensitive at the moment but it didnt irritate at all. In fact it was nice and calming having this mask on . After fifteen minutes I took the mask off and let the extra gel seep into my skin. My skin feels firmer and although I wouldnt go as far as to say it feels totally hydrated, it dosnt feel anywhere as dry as it was. The redness i had prior had eased and overall my skin does feel better then it did before applying the mask.

Tips: Once the mask is on, lie down and close your eyes and enjoy this mask to make the most of it.

Floored!

I was very skeptical of this mask - I've used tissue masks before and found them tricky to apply, with underwhelming results.

The DIY aspect is quite funny, although I suspect a bit of a gimmick. Once I figured out how to fold the pack to mix, I gave it a big squeeze to force open the seal separating the actual mask, and the serum. I did worry I was going to pop the pack, but the seal gave way smoothly and flooded the mask section of the packet.

There is an awful lot of serum - dare I say it, too much. I actually decanted the remainder for use another day.

The tissue mask is a lovely size, the eye, nose and mouth flaps are well fitting, and its really easy to unfold and apply.

It feels cooling and relaxing, and smells wonderful.

Afterwards my skin felt a little tacky, but this soon dissipated. I used this mask on Saturday evening and as I sit here and write this review, 5 days later, my skin still feels incredible. I've changed nothing else in my routine, so I can put this soft, supple texture down to this mask.

Will definitely buy again, cannot rave enough.

Tips: Decant the leftover serum and use as a wee hydration treat at a later date.

Refreshing for this hot weather

It has been soooo hot lately so using this felt just awesome, it was not only instantly nice, cool and refreshing, but it gave my skin the hydration it needed. This only lasted two days - but these don't cost much and I think it is well worth that temporary hydration, and it still does what it says it will do.

I wondered what the heck the point was in having the mix separate to the mask, but after trying it, this mask is easier to use and put on compared to Garnier's other pre-mixed Masks - those ones tend to have an extra sheet that you peel off once it is on your face and it is a bit of a pain to handle, sometimes it can leave you gasping for air abit if it flaps over your mouth and nose lol. But this Mask here is simple, easy to place on your face and it covered mine perfectly. Much easier to use!

I also had a little of the shot mix left over, so I have been using this on my face after a shower at night as a serum before my evening moisturiser, in the morning my skin is so refreshed!

The only issue I have is that it does make your skin sticky afterwards which I found with the others too, but if you can put up with it for an hour or so until it is fully dried off it is fine. I used this in the morning, by late morning and through to the next day my skin felt soft and bouncy. For appearance I didn't notice anything until the next day.

Over all, in this heat and especially in Winter, I will be making sure I have some on hand for a once a week boost for my skin. Thank you Beauty Review for the Trial :-) <3

Tips: You don't need the entire shot, leave a little behind to use in a couple of days as a serum for your skin straight after a shower, then apply your normal Evening stuff later :-)

A bit gimmicky but overall worth trying

Overall, I think this is a perfectly fine sheet mask that would be good for a girls night or before a special occasion.

I did find the packing a little bit gimmicky. You fold it into thirds and then push the liquid into the bit of the package that has the dry mask in it. Is there a real reason why the mask doesn't come with the serum already on it? After I pushed the liquid into the mask area, I left it for about 10 minutes to soak up the liquid before putting the mask on.

The mask is very serum-y which I think is good. There was even some serum left in the packet.

There wasn't really any smell to the mask which is my preference. The mask didn't sting or tingle my skin which I'm very prone to. I was a bit worried about getting it in my eyes though, the eye holes in the mask didn't seem to sit very well on my face! I left the mask on for 15 minutes and then let whatever was left of the serum sink in to my skin.

My skin felt pretty nice and plump afterwards. My face was left a little bit sticky but nothing too bad. It might be an issue if you were to do this mask in the morning though (I did mine at night).

I don't think this mask made my fine lines less visible but I'm not sure any sheet mask really does.

For me, it wouldn't be practical or economical to use a sheet mask a few times a week or even once a week. However I would use it again before an event or a special occasion.

Tips: Let the mask absorb the serum for a few minutes before applying.

Hydrating and refreshing

Mask was easy to use, simple instructions and packaging. I like the idea of mixing it yourself as adds a component of interest. The mask it self is very moist and cooling on the skin. It felt nice to wear and not moist to the point it runs off so while I used it in the bath I would be happy to use while fully dressed with no worries of getting on clothing. It was light weight on the face and the nose and mouth holes are generous. After using and wiping off the excess my skin felt clear and supple. Since then (5days) it has been smooth and soft feeling. I have noticed no unusual dryness or redness. I would use this again

Hello Moisture in a mask

I decided to try this once my daughter went to sleep ad I had time to myself for a pamper. I cleansed my face and then went to use the mask, I was abit confused about the process so had to read the instructions on how to get it to work.

You have to fold the packaging into thirds and then push the liquid/gel into the dry sheet mask, and then squash around to ensure the mask is fully covered in the solution before opening the packaging.

Once you take the wet mask out you have to be really careful not to rip it. I put it on and made sure there was no air bubbles. Left it on for 20 minutes as I actually forgot I had it on and once I took it off I massaged any left over gel from the mask into my face. I wasn’t sure if I needed to wash the residue off or leave it as my face was abit sticky from the gel, I left it on my face as it was night time and thought it wouldn’t do me any hard to get extra moisture. This might be a problem if you do the mask during the day.

The next day my face felt really smooth and after my shower I didn’t have the “my face is going to crack” feeling. A few days after the mask I did get a few new pimples so I’m not sure if it’s from the heat or from the mask.

Tips: You end up with quite abit of serum left over in the packaging so you can scoop it up and use on your face after your shower for a few days after

Garnier Fresh Mix Tissue Mask

I was sent this product as part of a Trial team.

The Garnier Skin Active Fresh-Mix Tissue Mask comes in a simple packaging. These water- based sheet mask with Hyaluronic Acid is packaged in two sections. The top section contains a dry algae tissue mask and the bottom, a shot of serum to go with it.

The instructions on the packaging are easy to follow: start with clear skin, fold the sachet in thirds and squeeze gently until the seal opens and releases the serum into the mask. Once opened, I applied the mask and and was pleasantly surprised about the coverage and overall fit of it. Sometimes these type of masks can be strangely sized and shaped but this fit perfectly, molding into every corner of my face.

The Hyaluronic Acid formula helps to hydrate the skin reducing the loss of moisture providing a soothing burst of hydration.

After one application, my skin felt good and a little bit tighter but here was no dramatic difference to the look of my skin and I found the residue to be a bit sticky.

At NZD6 per mask and Garnier’s recommended three times a week usage I feel that there is a fair amount of other products in the market that deliver better results.

PROS: No scent. It didn’t irritate my sensitive skin.

Meh...gimmicky!

So I'd assumed this would be more of a cream or gel than a physical mask. It then took me a wee while to work out how to actually work the packaging to push the liquid up into the mask itself to saturate it. After some squeezing it seemed to come together.

The mask was a paper mask saturated in the liquid - different! I have a small face and whilst it was long, it was not wide and could have done with being about 2 inches wider. I sat for the allocated 15 minutes and it didn't dry through the process. It felt very cool - no burning or noticeable smells.

After taking the mask off I rubbed in the residue (as instructed) but about an hour later it just felt sticky so I rinsed my face. My face did look all fresh and definitely plumper afterwards so a win there.

The next morning I was back to normal. So in summary my view is a lot of effort faffing on with packaging and applying a paper mask with no differentiating effects.

Tips: Keep squeezing the packing even if you think you'll burst it. It will eventually work.

Skin looked amazing!!

I was really excited to try the garnier fresh tissue mask. The packaging has clear directions on the back that tell you how to get the liquid on to the mask. When i opened mine the mask was well covered and was pretty easy to put on my face. I left if for the full 15 mins that it said, I was able to move around and not worry that it would fall off. After the time was up i pulled the mask off and ru bbed the liquid in to my skin. I didnt notice too much change that day but the next morning my skin looked amazing. It looked smooth and tight. I would definatly use this regualry.

Tips: As there was still abit of liquid left in the packet, i rubbed it over my neck and chest area. That all looked amazing the next day as well. Well worth using all the liquid that is left in the packet. Also read the directions before you start.

This. Is. Amazing.

I loved this mask! I cannot rave about it enough. It plumped and smoothed my skin. It feels so moisturised. I like the idea of mixing it in the packet. It was mess free and easy to use. I wasn't having to sit around for a super long time with it on. 15 minutes and you're done. Only down side is how small the eyes and mouth hole is. They could definitely afford to be a little larger.

Tips: Wash your hands after applying -or they become sticky.
