Sensitive Skin Nightmare

I recently received a sample of this in the mail. At first I thought it was the cutest sample ever. I love miniature products which are great for traveling! The smell of this is so divine. If your a sucker for minty products than this scent is defiantly for you. I have always liked buying and using Palmolive products as to me they are a family brand which I know and trust.

I took this on holiday with me last weekend. I was so excited to use this. Ok, First attempt - The product came out of the bottle so easily. I have super sensitive skin and I thought that because this is by the brand Palmolive that I probably wouldn't have a bad reaction, but oh boy was I wrong! Due to the body wash being a Peppermint scent it set my skin off big time. A burning, hot sensation, red skin etc. It was not fun at all. It took a while for my skin to come right after that. This is definably not a good product for sensitive skin.

The body wash itself feels like a paste / cream. The texture is really strange, not a fan of this texture at all especially for a body wash. The scent however, I will give a 100/100 for that. I absolutely adore the peppermint smell.

Attempt 2 - I told my partner to finish off the bottle. This time it is near IMPOSSIBLE to get any product out. We both tried squeezing the bottle and it kept slipping and now I have sore hands. So basically you cant get any product out the second time unless you cut the bottle (if possible).

Overall I am disappointed because I had high expectations because this is by Palmolive, the difficulty of the packaging and the bad reaction I experienced. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing the full size of this body wash

Tips: If you have super sensitive skin - steer clear!

After Dinner Mint Disaster

I wanted to like this, I really, really REALLY did. On paper is sounds amazing- peppermint is great for waking you up and clearing your mind and lovely scrubby bits to make your skin feel soft. When you first open the lid, you get a hit of intense peppermint- it smells incredible! I eagerly gave the plastic bottle a squeeze, ready to slather it on.... And nope. The formula is very thick so you better have some strong hand muscles to get this out! Because the formula is so thick, you really need to work it into your skin, otherwise it will leave residue much like toothpaste on your skin- and with the product smelling like peppermint people are even more likely to think you just left a dribble after cleaning your teeth! It does live up to it's promise of leaving your skin soft and you are left smelling like an after dinner mint for a good hour or two after bathing! I have normal skin and found that after a week of using this cream that my skin was very dry- this could be down to the intense peppermint oils stripping the skin, or from the scrubby bits being too harsh. Sigh. I will have stick to just sniffing this product instead of using it.

Tips: Perhaps consider only using it a few times a week instead of daily.

Is that mint or feet I can smell?

So, from the title, I obviously think that this product smells a bit like feet. Sure, the first few minutes of the wash are peppermint laced and lovely, but then it goes horribly wrong when you think you are rubbing feet all over your body.

I also really don't like the shape of the bottle. Yes, it's feminine and looks attractive, but in reality the product inside is a 'butter' not a liquid, and you simply cannot sit this bottle on its head without it falling over and taking all your other normal shaped bottles with it.

Again with the butter, it's much too thick. You stand there for what feels like hours, shaking the hell out of the bottle to get it to go to the bottom. I think they should take a look at their formula and try to make it a bit more runnier. I also tried to mix water with it in my hands and I wasted half of it to the drainpipe because it wouldn't play nicely.

I don't think it's worth the price tag they've slapped on it - anywhere from $6-$8. For only 400ml and half of it gets wasted because you can't get it out of the bottle (without using unnecessary force), it's really not worth it to me. This body wash is also really not a wash you would use on your personal areas. It's fine wanting to be minty fresh, but not down there!

I will say that I really like the bits in the product though, and they way they scrub your skin. You don't need a loofah or gloves with this, but it never hurts to use one anyway. I am disappointed I didn't like this product, I really thought I would as Palmolive usually hit the nail on the head. This time, it's a big fat no from me! And I will most definitely not be repurchasing this, or it's sister scents any time soon.

Shake it out! Shake it out!

I got a work out when I used this body butter wash. I thought the smell was nice but the product was way too thick. I had to shake it out and even when I shook quite hard the wash struggled to come out. When I got passed half way I added water to the product thinking it would make it less gluggy. This ruined the consistency and the water sat on top of the product. I would not waste my time on this product again.

How do you get it out ?

I received a sample of this in the mail and I really love the smell of it and the packaging looks quite attractive. I found that when I applied it to the skin it felt very nourishing. It had soft beads in it which didn't really seem to exfoliate the skin.

It is extremely hard to get out of the bottle. It came out the first time with no problems but then the second time I had to really squeeze and tip it upside down and bang it. I ended up cutting the top and using it like that.

Really?!?

I was lucky enough to get a couple of these trial size bottles in the mail. I totally thought it was body butter. Talking to friends they told me what it was. Ok well that was lucky!

I took them into hospital with me knowing a fresh exfoliating item would make me feel great. Well so I thought.

The bottle shape is really nice. Easy to hold. Easy to open. That's where the easy finished! In hospital I couldn't shower on my own, I had to have a nurse or my husband with me. So I tried squeezing this out and the first bit came out. I couldn't squeeze it hard enough to use it. So I gave it to the nurse, she struggled. Next shower I gave it to hubby thinking I was just weak due to surgery. "What a fool of a thing!" Was his reply (again)

So the contents is really really thick! The bead things get lost in the thickness, you can't feel them. The smell was ok, just not mmmmm yum. It did feel to moisturise slightly. Not a drying out formula.

So I won't be buying it again mainly due to the bottle. If you can't use a small one, how can you use the big one and get it all out! It's not flat that it could be turned upside down. I think the company have a good start of a idea, just hasn't been followed through properly!

It smells so good!

Im a huge peppermint fan and love the smell of it so first impressions was amazing! The smell was strong, however it was a mission to get it out of the bottle! The design of the neck on the bottle is horrible! You get a good work out trying to get the stuff out! As for texture I was disappointed.. The thick texture meant I couldn't feel the exfoliating beads on my skin. My skin did feel nice after my shower but nothing to get overly excited about. Which is a massive shame because the smell is amazing!!

Too much effort

I was really excited to try this-the thought of peppermint as a body scrub interested me. I bought it at Pak n Save for $7.99. The bottle looked really sleek and sexy, much like the product. However, the bottle design does not allow the product to come out very easily as there is one of those rubber stoppers in the lid so when tipped nothing will escape. I had to strain my power grip to get any resemblance of the product out and when I did that the rubber thing would suck half of it back into the bottle. The scrub beads are small and I thought there could've been larger pieces in it, or more of it. The scrub is more of a thick moisturiser/butter consistency than a shower gel. After a minute or so the peppermint smell goes and I could smell more of a shea/cocoa butter smell. I wasn't left with the smell on my skin either. I don't think for the price this is that I will likely buy this again.

Tips: After 3 days of trying to get the product out I have cut the top off and transferred to a squeezy plastic bottle-a lot easier to use now.

yum smell

I received a sample of this in the mail recently, and whilst it smelt devine it was not worth the effort it took to get the actual product out from the bottle! In saying this, it was sample size and cannot personally comment on the functionality of the full size bottle (although the reviews on here suggest it isn't any better!) The sample size has really turned me off the real deal.

It says it is a peppermint exfoliating body wash, whilst I agree with the peppermint aspect... I really didn't find the exfoliating beads of much use! My skin wasn't softer and I didn't notice dead skin removal. I feel like it is almost for "show" rather than doing the promised job.

In saying that, I didn't feel overly clean or refreshed.. just a little disappointed and ripped off after using so much effort to get it out! They say good things take time.. not in this case!

I was hoping this would be a good pre fake tan exfoliater that wasn't too harsh or abrasive but it really didn't do anything at all!

Unfortunately, I would not recommend... thankfully I found out through a free sample and didn't waste money.

Won't be forking out for the full sized product, I get much better for cheaper ( Original source).

Minty but not fresh

I purchased this with my grocery shopping as it was on sale so thought I’d give it a go as I loved the minty smell. The bottle is a good size and easy to hold however the product doesn’t come out so easily you need to give it a really good squeeze and then end up with way too much product – which has caused bubbles come up through the drain on my bathroom floor lol.

The product is nice and thick more like a thick body milk/butter. I wouldn’t call so much a scub as the beads are rather small and I personally don’t think they have any effect unless you’re using exfoliating mitts. It smells nice and you get the minty fragrance initially but it’s not long lasting.

I haven’t found that it dries my skin out which is a bonus. But I don’t think I will buy it again once I have finished this bottle as this product did not leave me feeling fresh and cleansed as one would imaging after using a “mint” product.

Tips: I prefer to use with exfoliating mitts so get that ‘scrubbed’ feeling
