Perfect addition to my skincare routine

I had seen this little sponge floating around my Instagram feed and a couple of pages that I follow on facebook and I thought I really wanted to try and see if this sponge could do anything for me.

Luckily I found a few different types of the Konjac range at my local pharmacy so I picked up the natural style Konjac which is the half ball shape. Which on the packet says it helps with exfoliation, cleansing the pores and skin moisturizing. I thought this would be a good one to start with to see how it performed.

Once you open the packet, the feel of it, is like a hard small rock or a kitchen sponge that has been left out to dry for a week or so, I then read the instructions to put it under warm water for 30 seconds and squeeze water from it gently and before you know it, it doubles in size.

Nice and simple to use, buff it around your skin in small circular motions I do it for about a 45 seconds to a minute 15 seconds in each area, (nose, cheeks, chin, forehead) and what I was left with is really noticeably clear looking, soft feeling skin. I was impressed, in saying that I really need to use this twice a day for the effects to really stay, I have noticed my pore size is decreasing as its really getting those pores that were clogged, nice and clear.

Its easy to fit into my skincare routine, I cleanse and exfoliate normally then use this after I have washed off my exfoliating scrub, so my skin is still damp, then pat dry my skin and apply serum and moisturiser.

You do have to look after this really well, as I found it was starting to grow little mould dots, as it wasn't drying properly in the shower. So I had to purchase a new one which I rememeber to remove from the shower, gently squeeze and excess water from it after I finish, pat dry in a towel and leave on window sill with window open to air dry and this one has lasted much longer.

I love how my skin feels after I use this, I will continue to use this and dry different styles.

Awesome

I first the black sponge and I relly liked the product because it was really gentle on my face while cleaning it very well. Then I received the white one in my birchbox and. OMG. It feel even better on my skin it is so soft and I really love to use it. Plus i noticed that my pores became smaller and it made my skin look great! I use it most of the time with my cleanser but sometimes i even use it on its own and it works great too. This is an AMAZING product.

little puff of magic.

I purchased too of these at the recent Women's Expo. The charcoal one for my youngest daughter who has been having acne flare ups, and a sensitive one for me. My girl looked very skeptical when I gave her the one for her, and I could see her thinking "really mum?", however she gave it a go and is really pleased with the results. Her skin has cleared up really well and is now looking freash and calm. The one I got for myself is lovely too. I can't remember the name of the active ingredient but it's a type of clay. I usually don't like to exfoliate too much as it tends to aggravate my skin, but this magic little ball seems to cleanse and exfoliate to just the right level. I usually clean my make up off with a cleanser, and then use this for my second cleanse at night. I use it on its own, but my gitl uses hers sometimes with and sometimes without a cleanser. My skin looks softer and younger and it hasn't aggravated any sensitivities.

Tips: Buy in bulk.

I emailed the company but no response. They are sold on ebay and things for $1, so just wanted to be aware of the difference between the two! Thanks for your reply :D

Hmmm. Good question. The answer is no. I'm curious now about which country these have originated from.

This sounds amazing! Any chance on the packaging, does it say where these are made?

Kanjac Sponge

I was given this last month as birthday present by a good friend of mine. At first glance I was quite confused, not exactly sure how this small, rock hard 'sponge' would cleanse my face, exfoliate, get rid of black heads and prevent acne. I just didnt get it. There were no bottles of cleansing oils or scrubs in the packet with it so how would this little guy work? Despite my confusion and disbelief, I decided to put the Konjac Sponge to the test. Soaked him in a nice basin filled with warm water and watched as he grew twice in size and softened into a small pillow. I was getting quite excited at this point and decided to get right into it. It felt like I was just rubbing a soft cushion all over my face. So gentle and relaxing but how could something so gentle do as it promised? Once I finished I could already see the difference. My face was glowing, my skin was softer than ever and it had instantly cleared my nose of those horrible spots! This little sponge has changed facial clensing for me forever. I cannot stress enough how well this works and it works well on any skin type which is great too!

Tips: Make sure to work in circular motions, and the warmer the water, the nicer it feels too :D

Konjac Sponge

I purchased this a while ago after I heard all the hype like many of us did!! I have the charcoal one for acne and blackheads. Im not sure if it's all that its cracked up to be. To me it just felt like an every day sponge. Using it with my African black soap or just my facial cleanser it did the job of a gentle exfoliator without the use of harsh chemicals or rough beads so definitely good for that. I like that it is natural!! Anything to help the environment and reduce the use of plastic bead exfoliators so we can help save the little fishies. So its okay! Nothing incredible for me (I tend to prefer a harsher scrub.) But if you are looking for a gentle, natural, plant based substitute to your current exfoliator, the konjac sponge is your answer!

Tips: It is mentioned already but make sure to research all the different types to find the best one for your skin ie. Charcoal for acne.

Mmmmm alright

I got the one for dermatitis and sensitive skin as I've had pretty bad dermatitis on my face for a couple years and only recently recovering- so super allergic to lots of products. I saw this on Facebook so was naturally curious to try anything to would rid me of dermatitis. It's a nice little sponge that feels great when you rub it on your face and gently exfoliate. However, I'm still getting the occasional outbreak and was really hoping to not use any steroids. Will probably give the other sponges a try.

Good for the older gals too! (40+!)

I stumbled accross this sponge at a local market. I have quite big pores - and whilst the charcoal sponge is for younger skin I can say after two weeks my blackhead and pores are noticebly smaller. I just love giving my face a scrub with the sponge.. can't wait to try the other types. Just brought some for Xmas pressies!

Life Changer :)

I got the Charcoal one to give it ago. I had once again heard all the hype about this and got sucked in. AND thanks goodness I did!! My skin has been terrible for the last two years, with acne on my face and chest. I have tried all sorts and nothing seemed to work. I used this for three weeks and could see a noticeable difference. It didn't remove my acne completely ( I would need a miracle for that :) but it took out all the red and anger out of the pimples and helped soften the blackheads for removal. I would recommenced this for anyone who is having trouble with their skin and wants to try a natural remedy.

I LOVE this little sponge!

There is a huge rave over these at the moment, so thought I would try it out!

I bought the charcoal one as I have acne prone skin.

The sponge is easy to hold and does not slip out of your hands. I use it with my facial cleanser.

I feel it gives a really good clean and makes my skin feel really refreshed afterwards. It also does a really good job at gently exfoliating.

I now use this as my daily routine and could not live with out it!

a goody

I got this on a recommendation to use along with the face wash I use to help get rid of the deep set black heads on my chin and I have to say it works quite well. I use the black sponge which is the charcoal one and I find this awesome for giving my chin a really good clean. When I run my fingers back over the area the blackheads just seem to fall out so I definitely know It's working!! So I decided to buy my sister the yellow sponge and she loves it!! A must have in your beauty routine.
