Balancing lavender cleanser

For heavenly soft and perfectly balanced skin, take a bit of Angels on Bare Skin, mix with a little water and massage all over your face and body. The kaolin clay base deep-cleanses while finely ground almonds and lavender flowers gently exfoliate away dry skin. We add lavender oil to soothe and balance, and rose absolute to calm redness. If it’s smooth, radiant skin you’re after, this is the cleanser for you!

Cleanser or scrub?

I bought this about a month ago after wandering in to Lush and asking them if they had a good scrub for me. It wasn't till I got home and read the label that I found it was actually a cleanser.

I'm impressed with how this product works with my skin. The almond is a nice gentle scrub and the fragrance is lovely and fresh.

I don't use it everyday as a cleanser, instead I use it as a scrub every 3-4 days as I don't want to overwork my skin.

This leaves my skin velvety smooth and although I like the product, I'm not going to lie, I find the application a little bit of a pain. Perhaps I'm a little lazy and just want to slap something on, but getting the right consistency takes a little while otherwise it's either too dry or too wet - first world problem though.

Overall I would recommend this product as the results are great. However, I would still say it's more of a scrub than a cleanser and I would let people know about application.

Dark Age beauty secret

I love the history of this product and I love how Lush has brought some cultural history into the beauty market by giving us this product we never knew existed. Formulated in the medieval times, people were believed to be witches if they created this magic pot - That's what drew me into buying this, It wasn't disappointing it accomplished what it set out to do. It made my face brighter, cleared scarring (although I hardly noticed, mum said it did) and gave my skin a even texture. I love how unique the products are compared to other out there in the market when it comes to applying the paste to your face, it's messy. But at the same time, it does wonders to your face and body. I hardly ever got a breakout when I was on this.

Angels on Bare Skin

I love how far this product goes because you need to mix it with water. It also gave me more control as to how thick or thin a consistency I wanted. Angels on Bare skin smells like fresh, earthy lavender and feels a little grainy. I found this product gentle on my skin. It calms redness as advertised. My only qualm with Angels on Bare skin is that it feels like it leaves a clay like layer on your skin after washing with it.

Angellic for the face

This cleanser is perfect for those with irritated, acne prone skin. After using thsi cleaner my skin felt deeply cleansed but un-irritated by any of the ingredients. The lavender oils sooth any irritation and redness. This is also the perfect amount of 'grainy', not too harsh but provides good exfoliation for daily use.

Lovely and gentle

This is a nice, gentle cleanser with a bit of scrubby in there, and it was quite effective in cleaning my oily skin, although I didn't notice a considerable difference in controlling my oil while I was using it.

It's a little impractical to use because it's almost a clay consistency, and scooping it out of the pot in the shower can lead to wastage. I used to grab a bit out before I got in the shower and kept it on the lid of the pot before using it. This is a bit fiddly and annoying and I can imagine would be particularly problematic if you wear glasses and take them off to shower.

This didn't irritate my skin so in that sense I'd recommend it for people with sensitive skin but it didn't do anything amazing that makes me want to go back to it.

A bit of a pain

I love lush products but to be honest, I find this a bit fidgety and annoying to use. You have to mix it into a paste and then use it which doesn't work that well for me. I thought the almonds would exfoliate my face but I find them a bit painful if I rub on my face so I pick them out before I mix it. It does leave my face smooth and fresh feeling however which I really like

Angels on bare skin

I brought this product because I have rosacea. I have been using this product for about a week now. The scent I can smell quite strongly is lavender. The texture is like playdough. You need to form a paste with water to be able to spread the product onto your face. I love how soft my skin feels afterwards but that's all it really did. It hasn't improved the redness of my face nor made any real change in the appearance of my skin. I probably won't buy again.

Tips: Put a little bit of water in your hand and mix the cleanser to form a paste. It can get quite messy.

Lush Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser

I've been using this for a few weeks but I'm still on the fence with this one. I received a generous sample of it when I made another Lush purchase and the small pot of it has lasted well, even using it twice a day.

My combination skin tends more towards dry patches. It's a very gentle product that doesn't leave my skin feeling dry after using it, but on the other hand it's so mild that I'm not always convinced that my face is completely clean after using it. I normally take my eye makeup off with a removal product before cleansing but I find that this doesn't always take away all the traces of black that I occasionally miss like other cleansers would.

It has an unusual, almost solid and crumbly texture before you mix it with water and I found that it was quite messy to use and it's easy to get lumps of it in your mouth in the shower. That may just be poor technique on my part but sometimes it just feels like a chore to use when I'm tired. Let's face it, I'm always tired when I'm washing my face as it's first thing in the morning or bedtime, so I like my routine to be as easy as possible. I'm not the biggest fan of lavender scents but others may love the strong smell of this one.

My skin has been well behaved while I have been using this but I'm not sure whether I would go out and purchase this one once I run out of the sample. It has been good, but not amazing for me. I prefer their Aquamarina cleanser.

Jack of all trades

Angels is a lovely soft exfoliating cleanser. The Kaolin is really absorbent and helps to unclog pores, while ground almonds gently buff away dead skin. The lavender is quite delicious and helps with balancing sebum. Overall it's a nice cleanser, especially for people with 'normal' skin. (I personally needs something a little more heavy duty, so I prefer Herbalism and Aqua Marina for my acne prone complexion.) This is great for people who want a simple yet effective cleanser that is made of the very best fresh ingredients

Gentle face cleanser

This is the first Lush facial cleanser I used. My friend with acne prone skin provided me with a wee sample from her pot. I tried it and it felt amazing compared to the rosehip cleanser I was using.. So off I went to Lush to buy a pot. I don't know if the pot I had was a bad batch but I found that the cleanser was really crumbly and I found it quite hard to work into my skin. Needless to say I finish the pot off but next time I went into Lush I got a different cleanser 'Let the good times roll' which has since become my favourite. Within saying all this I think I might have to give it another shot!!

Tips: Mix together with water to form a 'paste' then apply to skin
