Lush Movis Soap Our soaps are made the traditional way, but with our own innovative twist. Mo Constantine OBE, LUSH Co-founder and Product Inventor, combined her love of baking with soap alchemy to create this wheaty face soap. This sweet smelling squidgy bar has five wheat-based ingredients; wholemeal bread, organic wheatgerm oil, wheat bran, wheat germ and hop essential oil. All are rich in vitamin E, which helps to rejuvenate the skin and reduce scarring. It also contains labdanum and sandalwood oil, which add to the ultra-nourishing blend, leaving skin clean and soft.

Amazing face soap

I received a sample to try from the lush employees and was excited. I have only skin and wanted to see if this would help and boy it did. Keep in mind this soap is for OILY skin not dry. So I'm not surprised by the reviews here saying it is drying. I used this and immediately noticed the glow and my skin over the next few days it cleared up completely. While using this my pimples were at bay. I was ecstatic that it works this well. I highly recommend this for someone who has oily skin and dealing with pimples. This is my favourite lush product and I rave about this to anyone going to lush.

Tips: Cut into small pieces and use them in the shower to avoid it becoming squishy.

Nope-is Soap

I received a small sample of this from my wonderful friend, and I was excited cos I love soap and I love Lush soap the most. I also hadn't tried this, so I was excited.

The smell does nothing for me. It smells like off bread that's getting ready for the oven, slightly sweet but not and just... nope. It almost reminds me of Buche de Noel but I actually like that product. The smell goes along with the texture of the soap (a nope), as it's made with wheat bran and wheat germ and is just generally textured like weird - and I can't stand it. It also goes really soggy really fast, another downside.

There is little to no lather and so it's nothing to write home about, and as it goes mushy it doesn't last very long (which is great because I can't wait to see the back of this stuff). A lot of good things went into this soap but my hands feel drier than ever and I hate that feeling. I also don't like that this soap 'sheds' whatever is in it onto my hands... Just a fat nope from me.

Side note - This is a face soap!?! Before writing my review I didn't know this! I wouldn't put this near my face if I was paid to. If my hands feel this gross after using it, I'd hate to feel what my face would be like.

Wash your face with a slice of bread

Lush are fantastic at sending out samples when you order online, and this was a very generous sized sample at 40g. It is very sponge-y and soft, once opened it smells like a stale loaf of bread... I did not like that. I cut a piece off because I like to try lots of different soaps very quickly (especially if there are Limited edition ones available), so I can decide to either include it in my next order or not.

So armed with a largish sliver of this face soap I started to wash my face while in the shower... it felt like I was rubbing a piece of bread over my face, I didn't like the scent as it smelled like sweet smelling stale bread but it was soft and not scratchy. My skin felt very soft and moisturised while washing, but when I rinsed it off it felt like it took longer than necessary and when I hopped out of the shower my face was red and blotchy... like a burn or reaction to something in it. It was the only thing I did new/differently and luckily I rinsed my face again with cold water and applied a nice rich nighttime face oil. I woke in the morning to normal skin (phew).

I am reluctant to use it again as I am worried I have a sensitivity to something in it but aside from the scent and reaction I liked how my skin felt during use and the next day.

Hey squidgy

Placing an online order a while ago I wanted to add something I had never tried before and it kind of intrigued me, I have never tried any face cleansers that had wheat in them so I figured I had nothing to lose.

I have dry skin and I'm blessed that it isn't sensitive I can get away with slathering almost anything over it. This brown coloured bar is funny it's all squishy and smooshy. I figured the best way to use it would be to pinch a piece off every time I used it rather than using the whole bar as I imagined it would just turn to sludge.

I wet my face then scrub this around my face, it almost feels like a gentle exfoliator, it's not harsh but it you can feel the pieces of ground wheat. I love the scent of this it's so sweet yet I can't place where the scent comes from as I don't associate wheat as something sweet.

I used this daily for a week then needed a break and only drag it out now and again now. While it's nice I can't use it everyday. It does leave my skin feeling very soft and slightly moisturised after using it. It's nice but not the best.

Movis Soap - Wheaty Facial Scrub

I am always eager to try new things from Lush. I saw this at Lush for quite a reasonable price so I decided to try it. First of all I like how this has no sodium laureth sulfate, in except for a few ingredients it's pretty much all natural. The main feature in this bar is wheatmeal bread which makes it feel a bit squishy when wet, but it has granulated sugar and wheat bran which adds to the scrubby feeling. I found this facial cleanser lathered up reasonably well. I used this after using an oil cleanser and it did give my face a good scrub. I does have a light fragrance but it does have a wheaty smell too, due to the bread. The only few things I didn't like about this bar is sometimes it was a bit harsh on my skin if I was doing double cleansing probably because it's a scrub and it's not good to scrub your skin daily and the texture, sometimes it was really squidgy and then if you left it out on the window sill to dry then it would dry till it was really hard and difficult to lather and it would feel rough if you tried to run the bar over your skin if trying to get it to lather up. Plus I like to use my Foreo Luna to wash my face and I found the little bits of wheat got stuck in the silicone nubs and would probably get stuck in facial brush as well. But if you have oily skin and need a fairly natural cheap facial scrub this is a good option.

Tips: I don't recommend using everyday. Also if you have a facial cleansing brush I don't recommend using this with it unless you don't mind little bits of wheat in between the bristles. The bar can last you a long time but I recommend storing it in dish where it's stored out of water so it lasts a while. Don't dry in sunlight unless you don't mind it really hard and difficult to lather next time you use it. Good for those looking for a reasonably priced fairly natural scrub.

Thanks for the review hun, was wondering about how harsh it would be for sensitive and dry skin. I have ordered some so will see how it goes. Great tips too, I have a Lush container that I will pop it in and hope it keeps it dry.
