Lush Green Bubbleroon Review

This moisturising, citrus-scented bubble bar will put you in mind of a fresh summer meadow. With bergamot to brighten your mood, fresh avocado to reinvigorate and shea butter to make your skin feel like velvet. These bathtime macaroon-shaped treats aren’t quite as bubbly as our other bars, but do contain extra-softening ingredients that create silky-soft water, leaving your skin hydrated.

Green Bubbleroon

I picked this up a little while ago when I went a bit bubbleroon mad. I love the bubbleroons because they are just a little bit smaller and cheaper than some of Lush's other bubble bars which makes them just that little easier to justify buying. They are also really interesting because they have their center which is not a bubble bar texture.

The green bubbleroon is said to be citrus scented, and it did have a citrus scent but it was subtle and paired with something I couldn't quite place.

Peformance-wise, I didn't feel it produced quite as many bubbles as other bubble bars I have tried, but with my spa jets I could still produce plenty.

The water produced was green tinged and did feel smooth and moisturising.

It probably wasn't my favourite bubbleroon, but it was still a nice bath.

Dinosaur bubbles???

I was gifted this (as well as other items) as a 'Sorry for the hassle' from Lush after purchasing an item with a main feature missing. Lush Customer Service is first class and they went way above and beyond to make sure I was compensated for the mishap.

At first when I smelled this through the plastic wrapper I thought it smelled like fresh cut grass... the after a few days of sitting I thought it smelled like bananas... or rather banana cake more precisely. So I wasn't sure if this was something I would like or not and stashed it for another day.

Roll forward to recent days and a lot of my Lush supply is depleted (well depleted as much as a hoarding Lush addicts stash could be without causing hysterics) and I decided to give it a go.

More grass green inside than out/ outside has a yellow/green iridescence to it that my son called dinosaur bubble. It is two biscuits of bubble bar sandwiched together with a soft icing like substance.

It dissolves well in the bath water and bubbles up alright (not as well as others I have used), we used about a 1/4 of this in one bath and it wasn't enough... much better results with half but it made the skin go grabby and dry. The water went a lime shade of green and it smelled of lightly scented limes mixed with cut grass or green banana peels.. I couldn't quite pin it.

Personal opinion is that it is not something I would buy again for myself... but my son likes his dinosaur bubbles and it is nice to give the kids their bath time treats.

Where's the bubbles?

I love lush and love trying all the things. That must be one bonus to living far, far away and not being able to walk into a store to smell things. You see when I see something I haven't tried before I have to wait several days before I get to smell it and see it for the first time. It's like an adults version of a kinda surprise, all the suspense to see what's inside the plastic container. (cardboard box in this case)

This deep green bubbleroon looks like a macaron, two round discs with a cream type filling in the centre. I do love the vibrant deep green colour of this bubbleroon.

The scent is a lime citrusy scent, it's only a subtle scent though nothing wowing. It also has another scent that I can't quite place. I do love how this bubbleroon is full of lustre.

I hold it under the running tap and feel slightly sad as it doesn't really produce many bubbles just a few slightly foamy looking bubbles it turns the bath water to a lovely light green shade. The scent only just noticeable the addition of the lustre leaves the water all sparkly and in my opinion redeems this bubbleroon slightly. What can I say I love sparkly things.

It doesn't leave my skin feeling overly moisturised or soft afterwards and I couldn't detect any of the scent on my skin afterwards either. It's only an average bubbleroon for me it's nothing special and the only love was the lustre. Probably wouldn't purchase again.

Soft and Green

This cute green bubbleroon looks exactly like a lime macaroon – delicious! It started to look a little less like one once it had sat on my duchess for a few weeks.

I bought it with other lush products on-line from the company.

It has a gorgeous smell, the scent of the colour green I like to think! It is quite subtle though, and didn’t get any stronger when it went into the water.

I only use half of one at a time, and after it has dissolved and turned the water pale green, the water was soft and hydrating. The subtle scent lingers on my skin for a short while afterwards, and my skin feels clean and soft.

I like it, but there are other Lush products I like more, and which have the stronger scents that I personally prefer.

Fresh green soak very uplifting

As I have stated I am not a fan of the understatement that a bubbleroon is compared to the other Lush bath goodies but my niece in England sent me a UK treat pack for Christmas and inside was this green bubbleroon.

A swirled multi shades green macaroon shaped bubble bar with a softer pale creamy centre that has fresh herb oils such as bergamot which makes me think of Radox foam bath I used to get back in England it was dark green too, the fragrance takes me right back to using that. The avocado must be what the creamy part contains as it is very hydrating and keeps the water feeling soft, like a creme bath rather than a bubble bath as there isn't mass of bubbles even when crumbled under running water, there is some but not a lot.

The scent is both uplifting for the spirit but also relaxing for your soul and once you have finished you feel quite at peace with everything, plus your skin is nice and soft. Haven't seen it in NZ Lush stores though.
