Bio Oil

I purchased bio oil with the hopes that I would see a massive reduction in the appearance of my many scars on my body. I applied religiously twice daily for three weeks and can report that my scars have slightly changed in appearance. I find it hard to say that it reduced the size of the scars as I feel they have just become less noticeable now that they slightly match my skin tone more. Not sure about this one!

I used this product during and after my pregnancy. It did not help prevent stretch marks at all i am covered in them. However after my pregnancy i did see a lot of difference when using bio oil, the catch was i only started seeing results after applying it 3 or more times daily and really rubbing it in for a good ten minutes. I don't like that this product isn't a natural product. I found that places where i had applied bio oil made my skin feel a lot more rough than usual.

I had some stretch marks from gaining weight quickly and once I lost weight the stretch marks were of course permanent. This minimized the stretch marks and took the redness out of them so that I could tan a little bit and they didn't look so bad. Is obviously an oil so quite oily for a while on the skin and doesn't get on clothes but a small price to pay for a good result.

i have tried Bio Oil a few times now to help with scaring and stretch marks. I didn't see any noticeable changes to the marks or scars, however i have known people to absolutely swear by this product to eliminate any unwanted marks and it has worked!

I first tried bio oil when I was 14. I found that it really worked and I didn't get any more stretch marks until I was 16/17. While I was 14 I didn't care that I had stretch marks so I'd only use my bio oil whenever so around once a week maybe. I stopped using this when my bottle ran out, but this year I re purchased it thinking it'll help with my new stretch marks. But it hasn't. I'm very disappointed as I want to love bio oil like I did a few years back but it's just not working out.

i really had high hopes for this product , and i didnt see any change or improvement . the smell is ok , nothing amazing .although the bottle design does make it easy to use too much . now although i didnt have any results i know it worked for my brother on a scar he had on his back . so i guess it does work for some .. i just wasnt one of them

I used it with the aim to assist with scars. I haven't seen any improvement in scars in the two years I've used it. My skin has always been prone to dehydration since my first pregnancy and I must admit it has been great for hydration.

I have used Bio Oil on my scars and stretch marks for quite a few years now, as I got a lot of stretch marks when I was growing. I found that it definitely lessen the appearance of them, but it did take quite some time - longer than the 3 months like the bottle says. However, I have scars on my knees and face from a car accident and I did not find that it was hugely effective. I found that on the scar on my face (it goes down between my eyes and over my left eyelid) that the il sunk through my skin and stung my eye so I immediately stopped using it for this and found an alternative. For the scars on my knees, I did find that it lessened the purple-ness of the scars and slowly helped the redness to disappear to an extent, but not quite as I anticipated. Again, it definitely took longer than the 3 months. Overall, I found that it wasn't too bad on my stretch marks, but not so good on my scars and not suitable near the eyes!

I love bio oil, but I can understand also why others dont. I love using oil on my legs rather than a moisturiser because it makes them feel so smooth and I just overall like the feeling of oil on my skin. Bio oil absorbs nicely into my skin (particularly on my legs and smaller amounts on my forearms). I dont use it often but just use it as an alternative at times to give my skin a break from daily moisturiser. I have never used on scars, which is a main reason behind using this product so am not sure if this works on them or not. A little bit of bio oil goes a long way so the bottle lasts a long time.
