no bloody finger lol

love the applicator as your hands/finger doesn't get blood/period all over it when trying to insert a tampon..and no bits/parts of the tampon left behind with pulling it out to replace/dispose

Tips: make sure to use the right tampon for the period flow..if not sure or in doubt wear a panty liner till you know your period type

One of my favorites.

The down points would be that the packaging is rather dated and boring. Also the price is more expensive than regular tampons like carefree etc (from memory) Also they are not discrete like regular tampons as the applicator make them at least twice as long as regular tampons.

On the plus side, they do what they say and I find them really absorbent. They are far more hygienic than regular tampons as the applicator does the job for you. Once you figure out what absorbancy you need, they really do give great protection and I've never had any issues using these. I use these 90% of the time and will continue to buy these in the future. Very happy with the quality, would be awesome to see some funky designs like other brands tho.

Tips: Use the right absorbancy

Not my fave...

I like the concept of the applicator, however in reality it just doesn't work for me. I'm not sure if I'm not using them properly, if I'm made differently (?!?!), or if these just don't work.

I never feel comfortable with the placement the applicator gives, and I always find the tampon moves down quickly and becomes uncomfortable.

My biggest bugbear is what to do with the applicator afterwards? It's really difficult to conceal or dispose of discretely....?!

I think these would be a great starter tampon for young ladies, but not I think I will stick to Carefree

Yes that is what I was trying to say in my review !! They don't expand and seem really long and they seem to come apart as well.

Agree wholeheartedly, never had any success with them at all. They slip down and seem to just lengthen rather than widen so have always had accidents! They haven't changed in 30 years!

Great but watch yourself

I have always used these tampons, but have always been wary of the pinching that happens sometimes if you're not being careful. These are the best applicator tampons other than the Tampax Pearl ones!

Tips: Watch for pinching!

Not happy

I brought these as I loved the idea of the applicator as no one wants to get their hands messy while inserting these things. I have to say that the applicators are great but that is really as far as I go.

I found that they were easy to use but they didn't really expand much inside you when you used them and I had some issues with leakage. I also found that these were quite fluffy and little bits came off.

Also these are not very discreet at all. You can't really slip one into your hand from your hand bag and pop off to the bathroom at work time.

Tampax

I have used these on and off since I first started getting periods. I like that they have the applicator so its more hygienic and I get a good absorbency from them. They are a little long so sometimes they aren't as discrete as I would like. They are quite good for when starting out because they can be guided for the novice, although they can take a few times to become proficient.

The only ones I can use after children.

So...3 children later and things aren't the same down there. My flow is so heavy sometimes- quite bluntly it's like a massacre if I use normal super tampons. Leaky galore. These are great as they are not compacted down into a tiny weeny little plug but rather are longer and less condensed so they 'fill the space' better. The applicator makes it so easy to position correctly ( never had pinching thank goodness). These are the only ones I can happily count on to not spring a leak.

Would Only Buy if Desperate

After coming off non-applicator tampons as I was sick of having to get my hands involved and not finding it very hygienic or easy I decided to give these a go.

They aren't very discreet so I can't really just slip one into my hand when going off to the bathroom at work. I also don't like the cheapness of the cardboard applicator. It just makes it a little difficult to insert and makes it a bit harder to push up into the bit that releases the tampon.

The tampon itself is odd and fairly long and slim which could be quite intimidating to younger girls. They did what they were supposed to so I don't have any issues there but just can't get over the packaging. I will not repurchase.

I just can't get my head around these. ..

. . .or the actual body part they're used for.

I've tried Tampax Tampons several times, and given them up in favour of the non applicator types.

I don't know if it's the applicator or my own 'inner angles' at fault, but the way they're shaped doesn't work for me. I find the applicators are unwieldy and odd. There is also the extra waste aspect, which seems unnecessary. I find that the tampons themselves are absorbent, but that they expand unevenly, allowing leaks to pop through, and making them uncomfortable to remove. They also seem to drop little bits of fluff where you don't want little bits of fluff left behind.

I also find these really indiscreet - they're much larger than the non-applicator types and much harder to quietly pop into pocket or handbag.

The packaging appears to not have changed in years, and - contrary to competitors - they don't seem particularly interested in innovation.

They're not completely unusable, they just are an absolute last resort for me. I would never buy them again, but if that's all there was available I would use one for the moment until I could access the type that suit me better.

Good for beginners

Tampax's applicator tampons were the first tampons I used when my period started as a teenager. My mother purchased them for me and as a beginner I found them easy to insert when I was just getting used to the idea. From what I remember the applicator was quite long so it was a bit awkward to use and unlike non-applicator types they're pretty bulky to carry around.

I found them fairly comfortable to wear and they did the job but I wouldn't purchase this particular type again. I would purchase them for younger girls just getting used to the idea.
