I love this product. I used to use it to set my makeup after use, but have more recently been using it with eyeshadows and pigments to create bold eye looks. It's nice and refreshing, can be used before makeup, during makeup (a quick spritz before you apply powder highlighter for more impact or to create different effects with shadows and pigments) and after makeup to set any powders and give a soft dewy look. There are lots of similar products out there now, but this is an OG favourite.

Tips: I still use a setting spray on top, as fix+ doesn't claim to make your makeup last longer
Love this mist as a refresh, or a base. I found it didn’t set my makeup, but just settled powders. I prefer using this prior to applying my makeup as I find it “sticks” better. Great for intensifying your eyeshadow or highlights
Tips: Make sure you spray from a distance!
Fix plus is not a finishing spray. It will not make your make up last for years, in fact it probably makes my makeup last for a bit shorter since i have oily skin. If im feeling brave I will spritz some on my face before or after foundation to give it that nice glow. I do love it, but it's just my face. It makes me go oily much faster but I really do love the dewy finish it leaves on my skin. I sometimes spritz a little of this on my eyeshadow brush so that when I'm packing colour on my lids, the glitter in the eyeshadow really instensifies and glues onto your lids. It looks great when your using a metallic finished eyeshadow or even an eyeshadow that usually has heaps of fall outs. It is a refreshing spray and sometimes I spritz a little on my face just to rejuvenate myself.
Tips: Definitely try it on your eyeshadow if it makes you oily
I was so excited to buy this spray as I've heard so many youtubers raving about it. Also, I did know that it wasn't really designed to make you makeup last longer, so thankfully that wasn't something I was expecting for it as I have found that it doesn't make any difference to the length of wear. However, it works wonderfully to set down my powder and leave my skin looking more natural and less powdery and dry. It also feels amazing, very hydrating and refreshing, so I do find it to be a luxury product in that it just feels so lovely to use. I also spray it on my brushes if I want to apply eyeshadows wet, and it works exactly as it is supposed to in the regard. I also find it helps stop eyeshadows applied wet from creasing or smudging, which is an issue I have had with other sprays. However, Fix+ is pretty pricey, and I do think there are probably sprays the work just as well for a much more reasonable price. I would buy this again if I couldn't find a more afforable dupe, but it isn't a holy grail product. It's also more of a luxury item than something I need as a staple in my collection.
Tips: If I spritz this over my face after moisturising but before applying foundation, I find it helps lock in the moisture and my makeup applies much smoother.
I recently did a MAC haul and had been dying to try this out due to the reviews on here. I have dry skin and was hoping that this would help prep my skin before applying makeup - as well as making my fave look dewy.
As I hadn't tried this I got a small (30ml) size before committing to the cost of a large bottle. I'm unsure if the large bottle is the same packaging wise (they look the same except for the size), so please note my review is for the small size.
The packaging looks nice with a frosted white container and a matte black lid. I like that you can see how much product is in left - something that annoys me is when you can't see how close you are to running out.
However... I have huge issues with the spray nozzle. If it weren't for this my review would be much, much higher. Bear in mind I could have purchased a faulty one. Anyway, the nozzle is horrendous! It squirts out in huge, erratic drops instead of a fine mist. When I apply this to my face it feels like I am being shot with a water gun! The drops are huge and aren't dispersed evenly, which means that I have to use my fingers to apply this all over my face. This is a massive fail for me and I hope that I got a faulty one, as I really like the product itself.
The fluid applies clear and doesn't have a scent. When using this to prep my skin before makeup (but after moisturising), it makes my skin feel cool and refreshed - as well as hydrated. I love the feeling this gives my skin and, as I mentioned above if it weren't for the horrendous spray nozzle this would get 5 stars.
I also use this after applying my makeup and it makes my skin feel fresh and look dewy. It isn't greasy and feels lightweight. I really love the natural, healthy glow this gives my dry skin - even though I have to use my fingers to disperse the product evenly.
Overall I really do love the way this make my skin look and feel, but I HATE the spray nozzle. If I had purchased the full size and encountered this I would send it back. I would repurchase this again as it is a lovely product for dry skin, but I would also be hesitant because of the spray nozzle.
Tips: If you haven't tried this, get the 30ml size instead of the full size to save yourself money and to make sure you like it before investing.
Loved this product. Was very refreshing and great to freshen up your makeup during the day. Especially in summer when you start to swear. Only downside is it has a high price tag so i’d say save some money and buy Mac fix + prep and prime half the price and does the same job!
Tips: Apply again and again during the day
In theory this product should set your makeup so it lasts longer. This was the purpose for which I purchased it. After multiple tries, I haven't noticed any prolongation of the makeup hold considering I have combination skin. However, I am not dissapointed, as I found other benefits I get from using this product: 1.When you want to give a more natural finish to your face: I just spray it on after applying the foundation and setting powder and I really like the result 2. Instant refreshing during hot summer days These and the fact that it lasts you a really long time, makes me give it 3 stars.
Hmm so fix + is one of those products that comes in handy but you could easily live without. It thankfully has a few different uses. I use it after I have applied my makeup to set it which I don't believe it does but it's hard to tell. It can also be used to refresh the skin before applying makeup but the thing I use it for the most is dampening my makeup brushes before applying eyeshadow. It is super handy for this purpose. I used to just lick the brushes haha. I really like the scent which is a fresh smell and it does make me feel fresher. If it was cheaper my review woup be much better but I do feel that it is pretty much scented water.
Tips: Try cheaper versions before forking out for this.
I purchased this after reading rave reviews, and noting that a few people on this site mentioned it as a must-have. I was lucky enough to have a friend visit the States and bring one back, so I paid less and didn't pay postage. Which I am now glad for, seeing as the product did not live up to my expectations.
What I was intending to use this for was a setting/finishing spray. And I have dry skin, and love a dewy look, so I thought this would be perfect. Unfortunately, I have found it just doesn't work like that. When I spray it on after applying foundation or powder or both, it makes me looks sweaty, and it makes my makeup last LESS, which is disappointing.
I also have issues with the spray nozzle; so much comes out in one jet, and you have to hold it so far away from your face (arms length), otherwise you get one squirt right to the face in one spot! It doesn't cover your whole face. To rectify this, and try to make a mist, I have taken to spraying it up in the air and walking through the mist cloud/putting my face underneath; but I don't like that I have to do that, as it seems a waste of what is a very expensive product!!
As others have mentioned, I have eventually settled for using this as a face refresher UNDER make up; or as a sealer for applying directly to eyeshadow brushes, for a foiling effect.
I wouldn't repurchase this again, and am still looking for a setting spray/finishing mist.
This product is great as long as you know that it is not a setting spray!
This is great for spraying on your face before makeup as a form of primer, or after makeup to settle powder and stop you from looking cakey. It's also great to spray on an eyeshadow brush as it makes colours more vivid on the eye. You can also use this to refresh your make up throughout the day.
Its a great, hydrating, versatile product that's worth the price.
