Mmm, Raisins!

I don't actually like raisins. And I was on the fence about this color. I was given the color Raisin by the BR babes in the BRBB, and sadly, it wasn't love at first sight.

Sure, the tube is gorgeous. I love the little teaser of color at the bottom of the tube, encased in a clear plastic. The gold tube is elegant, and the lippy slides up and down easily. The color I received was a few shades darker than my natural lip color with a little red/pinky tinge to it. It was actually very natural and looked pretty nice on me.

The formula was lovely and creamy, but I didn't notice anything spectacular about the staying power. I used it in the "look" I created with things from the BRBB - but that was probably the only time I wore it. I have regifted it since to my momma, as she thinks bright frosted pink is the color for her - we have the same skin tone and NO it is not! I wouldn't go actively searching for this lippy to repurchase, but I would look at swatches and things of the sort, if I was in the market for lipstick (I won't be for a long time!)

Max Factor Virgin

This is my first ever Max Factor product, thanks March BRBB. I received the shade Sunbronze, a nice reddish brown that I would not have normally picked for myself but is a beautiful shade. Overall the packaging is quite upmarket in its golden case with the color of the lipstick within handily showing on the bottom and the lipstick itself is embossed with an X on the side.

It applies very well, a nice smooth and creamy consistency that just glides on.

The staying power is about what you would expect of a lipstick, a couple of hours. It does kind of stain your lips, but in a good way. The finish is what I would call satin, just a hint of sheen.

I wouldn't repurchase as for the same price or cheaper I feel you can get superior products that last longer and don't have the odd taste this brand does. I feel like its quite perfumed and the taste is not to my liking,I prefer a fruity taste in a lip product.

Tips: If you want a glossier finish just add a bit of lip gloss to bump up shine, if you like it more matte just blot with tissue paper as it stains your lips and you won't loose the colour of the lipstick.

Gorgeous formula!

I'm new to lipstick - only started wearing brights this year! So when my March Beauty Box had a bright lippy in it I was super excited to add to my collection, especially because I've never tried Max Factor lipstick and this is a colour I don't have. In fact, the colour I received ( shade 827; Bewitching Coral) is not one I ever would have chosen for myself as I was working on the mistaken belief that I don't suit coral. This lipstick (and the insistence of my best friend haha) has convinced me otherwise, and I'm actually loving this look.

These lipsticks look high-end and expensive. They are packaged in square gold tubes with rounded edges and a bar of the colour at the bottom. What you see in the bar is very true to the colour of the product. When you pop the gold cap off, the interior circular tube is also gold. The lipstick is embossed with the Max Factor 'X' logo, and (as I said before) looks really impressively expensive. This alone would make it a great present for someone - it won't break the bank but looks and feels higher-end to use.

The formula is incredibly creamy, and feels amazing on your lips. Pigmentation is strong, and colour builds rapidly for a dynamic pop. Because it's creamy, it doesn't really dry/set and therefore transfers, but enough stays on your lips for a pretty sheen of colour that - while less impactful - is still evident and attractive. There is a faint scent to the lipstick, but nothing distinctive or obtrusive.

I'm keen to search out other colours in the range as well. Very impressed!

Bewitching Coral!

I love pinks and corals. So, when I saw The Max Factor Color Elixir Lipstick in Bewitching Coral in the March Beauty Box, I was extremely excited. Also, because I hadn't tried the Max Factor brand before.

Bewitching Coral is a very lovely vivid bright pink shade with a hint of coral in it. It is almost a fuchsia shade but with a hint of coral. I like the way how it instantly brightens my face. The lipstick is very highly pigmented. One swipe will show enough color on the lips. I really liked the pigmentation in the lipstick, but if you prefer sheer or less opaque shades, you can apply little of the lipstick with the lip brush and top it off with a lip gloss. It applies creamy and smoothly. I liked the creme formula of the lipstick and I loved the pigmentation and the lasting power. It lasts a really long time on the lips (8 hours and I could still see the pretty lip stain).

It smells good. It does have a slight vanilla scent to it which I find very pleasant. This lipstick comes in a glossy gold body. with the color represented at the bottom of the lipstick with a transparent covering. The shade reflected at the bottom is exactly the shade of the lipstick.

It doesn't settle into fine lines or accentuate dryness on my lips. I feel its very light on my lips. There is no prominent shimmer in it, but since its a creamy lipstick , it does add a little bit of shine and does not sit flat on the lips. I would be purchasing other shades from this range as I loved their pigmentation and the lasting power.

So creamy

So I was lucky enough to receive the lipstick in the March beauty box in the colour pomegranate which is a bright pink colour I love that we get a surprise and we are pushed out of our comfort zone to try new things and experiment with new colours. So I tried it and it is just a tad too bright I don't think I suit bright colours with my little thin lips however I loved the creamy texture and feel of this on my lips so I went and brought one in a lighter shade called flushed fuchsia!

The casing is square shape with a gold lid and the bit at the bottom is the colour of the lipstick. The flushed fuchsia is a peach colour it's quite shimmery and almost like a bit of a gloss. I live with these lipsticks the trademark Max Factor X is embossed on the actual lipstick which is pretty cool. It lasts a couple of hours if I'm not eating or drinking much.

It's easy to apply and just glides on because it is so creamy. I love the feel of this on my lips it's not drying they feel quite moisturised and soft. I can't wait to buy more colours in this range I may even pluck up the courage to try the bright coloured pink again.

Converted to red

I hadn't used any Max Factor products before receiving this little beauty in the March BRBB. I remember doing the survey and I selected pinks at first..then thought no try something different and go for red. I am so glad I did, I didn't even know I could wear red. Anyway I love it. I got a beautiful bright red - Ruby Tuesday 715

You do have to be careful about applying(use a pencil first) as this does stain a bit and fast too.

I was really impressed though I wore this to work and only had to reapply after lunch.I didn't get that icky look of lippy wearing off even after eating. I was told it looked great all day.

It is a lovely creamy formula and has a matt finish. And the packaging is beautiful. I don't think you can go wrong with this

Bewitching Coral

When I opened my BRBB this is one of the things that immediately stood out to me! I haven't tried anything from Max Factor yet (although I have my eye on a few things) this was a welcome addition to my collection. I got the shade Bewitching Coral, which is a crazy bright (almost highlighter) coral shade.

The packaging on this looks crazy high end. I love the square packaging with rounded corners in a really nice golden shade. At the bottom it has the colour of the shade of the lipstick, fantastic for if you had a few of these. The lid makes a rather satisfying click. I love that on the bullet itself there is an 'X' for Max Factor, its the little things that make this feel so much more high end than other lipsticks. My one wee gripe with the packaging is that when the lipstick is all the way down the tip of the bullet still sticks up. That means if you are clumsy like me you can still accidentally cut the tip off when putting the lid back on. This isn't a deal breaker though as I'm sure as I use this more the bullet will be smaller and won't stick up as much, problem gone.

This goes on really smoothly. The colour is super intense and has a slight sheen to it. This colour is incredibly bright on me, which I do really like, but maybe not for everyday. The way I like this product best is actually after I blot it just a wee bit. Takes the shine off a bit but leaves the beautiful colour. The staying power of this lippy is actually amazing. I have found myself only reapplying once in the day then I have to remove it at night because the colour is still there. Impressive. It makes my lips feel great, and I have had no problem with dryness from this product at all.

I'm really impressed with my first foray into Max Factor products and will be on the look out for more!

Max Factor Lippy

Max Factor is one make up brand that's honestly a brand that I never considered using. I've never seen much use of it through social media hence why I never considered using it.

This lip stick has this gold casing lid that easily clicks on and off. On the bottom of this gold casing is a glass window that has the name of the colour on it underneath. The colour I was given was English Rose 510. I would describe this shade of pink as a dusky pink with shimmer in it. I wind it up and it has this X ingrained it. It has a soft sweet smell to it. A slight berry sweet scent.

On application this lipstick covered my lips smoothly. When I made my first Beauty Box look from it, it lasted me about mid morning. With eating and drinking it slowly came off my lips. I did however get compliments from the staff at my coffee house.

My results of using this lipstick were well covered lips. I did need to re apply this lipstick after eating and drinking. I do love using this lipstick. I'd love to explore more make up in their range. I did recieve this in my Beauty Box.

Luscious Lippie

I was very excited to find this Max Factor lippie in my beauty box as I have been a Max Factor fan for many, many years.

It is packaged in a very classy gold container with the Max Factor logo on the side.

Mt shade is Rosewood 833, and while I usually prefer brown lip shades, this one was not for me, as it is kind of 'pastel' for the want of a better description, and probably a shade I could have carried off better in my youth.

In spite of the shade, it is a lovely product and is moisturising and longlasting as it claims to be, and is soft on the lips.

At $24.99 it is reasonably priced.

I wouldn't buy this shade but would consider the product in a different shade being as it has a lot of other qualities besides the colour. After reading the other reviews it's clear there are some very lovely shades available in this product.

Tips: I like to dab translucent powder over lippie as it seems to help it last and stop it spreading to cups and glasses.

Bewitching Coral

I received this gorgeous lippy in my BRBB and wow, so spoilt! Like other Max Factor products, the packaging on this one is just as lush... gold and luxurious!! The lipstick colour that I received was a coral pink colour, not my usual kind of colour but what impressed me was the consistency and longevity of this lipstick. It is so nourishing, creamy and moisturising. It feels so nice to wear

Tips: Beware not to get hooked :)
