I was so excited to be invited to be on the trial team for the Lady Jayne Salon Pro Rechargeable Straightening Brush. My hair is quite long, thick and curly so I am always keen to try new tools to try and tame it! Unfortunately this isn’t going to be my hairs new bestie but it does have some positive points.
The brush itself is sleek and stylish, it’s easy to hold but has a bit of weight to it. It comes with a cute velvet bag to store it in and a USB charger. The instructions advise to charge for 3 hours prior to using for the first time. It’s super easy to turn off and on and change the heat setting. I love that it goes up to 200 degrees!
As mentioned previously, I have long, thick, curly hair so I was not expecting miracles. I sectioned my hair and was pleasantly surprised that the brush was making some difference but not enough to blow me away. I found that if I went over the same section of hair multiple times it did feel soft and appear smoother but was still wavy. Unfortunately while I was less than half way through straightening my hair the battery went flat! The tech specs state the styling usage is 30 minutes, I wasn’t timing but I would say that sounds about right.
Like I said, I wasn’t expecting miracles when I was using it on my hair in its natural state so I recharged the battery and tried again later after I had straightened my hair with my normal straighteners. This time I had better results. My hair often starts to get a little frizzy again later in the day, especially at the back of my head, but after running the brush through my hair a few times it was smooth and soft again.
For me personally, I think the Lady Jayne Salon Pro Rechargeable Straightening Brush will be better suited for touch ups. It’s compact design means it would be very easy to keep in your handbag or in your car for quick touch ups when your on the go.
I wish I could give this a 5 star review but unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend if you have thick, curly hair. However, if you have thin hair you may find this is the perfect tool for you!
I feel like this brush would be amazing for people with shorter hair who just want a quick smoothing styling who can’t get in there with a normal straightener. It also worked well on my partners beard to smooth and straighten so that’s a bonus. I don’t feel like it gives long hair that poker straight feel like straightening irons but it definitely smooths it out
